The prologue series? Is that the Infernal Devices series? I don't really know which one I have to (or should) read first. Everyone tells me different things.

It's not that you have to read one first, they're completely interchangeable, it's just that, in my eyes, the Infernal Devices was a much better series.

lol. Ok. What my friend told me was "read the first 3 MI books and then read the other series and then go back to the MI books and finish them."I suppose there's no right or wrong way.
Yeah, the first MI books are far better then the others int he series. Make up your own way. Time to be creative xD
Are you saying the series gets worse? Aww. I hate when that happens.Of course, this is all speculative. I might hate it like I did last time and put it down after 15 pages.
True. And since you already gave MI a go, maybe you should read Clockwork Angel. But, you know, that's coming from a completely unbiased third party. Please note that I am very biased because I love the Infernal Devices. :P
I read the first 5 TMI books and then I read TID and then went back and read the last TMI book :p it really doesn't matter how you read them ^.^
I think I read tid first and absolutely loved it!!! tmi was pretty good. I read them all and enjoyed it, but def not as much as tmi
Cassandra Clare has said to read them in the order they were written is how you'll get the most of out both series.
They take place over 100 years apart, but they deal with the some of the same families, and a few characters are immortal.
I suggest the first 3 TMI--the first book is just okay. The 2nd and 3rd are EXCELLENT!!! Then I would read The Infernal Devices. Again, the 1st book was just okay, the other 2 books are SO GOOD, especially the 3rd and final book in that series--one of the best books I've ever read! Then I'd read the last 3 TMI books. The 4th and 5th books were okay, the last book was EPIC IMO!! Ties everything together really well, and gives us a preview of her new series that comes out next!
Both of these series are really character driven series. I LOVED the characters for Infernal Devices, they were SO good--and loved most of the characters for TMI. I wasn't a big fan of Clary, and she'd the MC for TMI...but the supporting characters were awesome! You will seriously fall in love with some of these characters and never want to leave them!

I second that. I actually really liked the Mortal Instruments series, but The Infernal Devices was way better. I loved the characters and the setting a lot more.
Heidi *Listen. I'll just keep talking anyway. * wrote: "Daniel I could not get past the first 100 pages of City of Bones. Best of luck to you!"Well, that's terrific. lol. We'll see. The genre itself has never appealed to me, so I'm not expecting much. But who knows?
It is also my least favorite genre. She is too wordy of an author for my tastes. I can tell she started writing fan fiction. Tons of people love the series though so I am in the minority. Best if luck :)
I read them exactly how Tia did, Daniel, and although TMI was not my favorite series, the TID series was, especially

Daniel wrote: "Thanks, I'll need it!"Well, I personally loved Mortal Instruments after I got through the 1st one (which I didn't hate, it just took me a while to get into). It was worth it though! :)

If you were going to give fantasy a go, I'd say you should read the prologue series of the Mortal Instruments first. It's better in my opinion, better developed and not such an annoying MC.
