YAY!!! Wasn't the Earth Dwellers just EPIC???? I LOVED it so much too! Can't wait to read your review :)

And I hope you enjoy Slip, I personally LOVED it, my fave David Estes book yet! Although I have not read Brew yet :) And I really really really really really want to! You hear that David? LOL I'm just kidding. Kind of :P

I would give PJ a whirl. It's quite entertaining. It's not intense yet, because the characters are so young, but it's a great way to pass time.
I'll look at your shelves and offer some suggestions.

message 7556: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Kynndra, I noticed you haven't read Gone!
Drop everything and read it right now!!! lol
It's my personal favourite in YA.

I'll definitely give it a whirl eventually, Daniel. Right now I'm looking or I guess book craving a darker paranormal or dystopian series.

message 7558: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Gone is a rather dark dystopian series!
If you're looking for dystopia, I have you covered. lol
Have you read the Darkest Minds or Unwind? Both of those are awesome dystopian reads, and both quite dark.

message 7559: by Peri (new)

Peri | 678 comments I liked the Darkest Minds and Unwind, but couldn't quite get into Gone. Another good dystopia is legend.

I actually have the Gone series in my ebook library, so you suggest that one?

And no, I've never heard of the Darkest Minds or Unwind. I'll look them up!

Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 787 comments I'm like 100 pages in on ruins and I'm just not feelin it yet. I'm actually super ready to be done with this series. I've gone from kinda liking it to liking it and now back to kinda liking it. i don't know y either

Gone seems to be one of those books where you're either hooked or not. There's no in between. I've had some fierce arguments with my friends about Gone. lol
Legend and TDM, though, I haven't yet come across someone who doesn't like either of these series.

Gone is my personal suggestion- it is quite a polarizing book though!
TDM and Unwind are both amazing! Legend is also a good rec.

kynndra-jo (charlietanghoe) Since I have the entire Gone series I suppose I'll try it out - see if it's a hit or miss for me. It seems like a ton of people like it - and if you guys recommend it then it must have some great appeal.

I'll still definitely check out PJ, Darkest Minds, Unwind and Legend - they all look so good!!

Thank you c:

Hope you like Gone. Beware, it does get graphic sometimes. (I love intensity and horror, so it was ok for me)

All series are great, you can't go wrong! Enjoy.

message 7567: by kynndra-jo (new)

kynndra-jo (charlietanghoe) I also love graphic content - blood, guts, horror and gore is not a bother to me!

I might even juggle PJ as well, who knows!

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments Kynndra wrote: "I also love graphic content - blood, guts, horror and gore is not a bother to me!

Haha, well, let's just say Gone gets very intense at times. (WHICH I CRAVE!) I literally had heart problems sometimes, and I had to take deep breaths to calm myself down. It rarely happens, but it did with the Gone series.

PJ is more fun than it is intense (at least through the first 3 books), so you may be able to juggle it with Gone.

kynndra-jo (charlietanghoe) I'm anticipating it Daniel! Is it weird that I'm really excited now? Ooh you liked it as well, Jenny? Awesome!

Gone had me hooked from the first page (quite literally) and kept my interest until the acknowledgements page of the last book.

Haha, it's not weird at all that you're excited!

Ashfall is a book that everyone seems to like- it wasn't for me though.

I also loved the Gone series! It took me a book or two to get into the gore of it, but once you do, it's a piece of cake! ;)

message 7573: by kynndra-jo (new)

kynndra-jo (charlietanghoe) I'm on chapter 3 and already I can see the appeal! I can't wait to get deeper in.

Hmm, Ashfall? Never heard of it but it seems interesting I'll have to see later on.

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments J_P wrote: "I liked Ashfall a lot, but I could see why some people wouldn't."

Yeah, I just thought the plot was slow, the characters were annoying, and the writing was childish. Not every book is for everyone.

message 7576: by kynndra-jo (new)

kynndra-jo (charlietanghoe) I think I'm going to really like Gone! /whispers I'm already drawn in. Thanks for the suggestion Daniel and everyone else c;

Everyone HAS to read it- it's so good.
Review coming soon.

It got better with each book IMO, but the 4th one, The Battle of the Labyrinth, is my fave of that series! I liked the spin off series even better!

message 7581: by Peri (new)

Peri | 678 comments I agree, Jenny. They just keep getting better! I read them in 3rd grade, but I've re-read them since and enjoyed them just as much as the first time.

message 7582: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments I'm so excited to read it! I'll start tomorrow.
In my review of The Titan's Curse you will see a lot of emotions about Percy. Cause he's one of the best protagonists in YA, IMO.

I agree the stakes kept getting upped in such a brilliant way. I haven't read any of the spin offs yet. I feel a bit scared too, honestly haha.
