Miss Syreena (miss_syreena) I just started The Iron Thorn (Iron Codex, #1) by Caitlin Kittredge
It's interesting so far- steampunk, dystopian, strong female protganist, and some fantasy elements are slowly coming in too!

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Reading Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller from Netgalley, but so far I'm not loving it. I think it's mostly bc I'm not in the mood for this kind of book right now.

I loved Something like normal by the same author but I have to admit that I wasn't blown away with Where the stars still shine. I did like it a lot and I'm now completly sure that I'll read almost anything by the author but I thought a lot of things were rushed, especially when it comes to the romance in the last two chapters. And sometimes, I felt like they were pages of my book missing because they were a few holes in the plot (in my opinion).
Like I said, I did like it a lot but it could have been better.

I've read many great books in september: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater The Hallowed Ones (The Hallowed Ones, #1) by Laura Bickle The Outside (The Hallowed Ones, #2) by Laura Bickle Plague (Gone, #4) by Michael Grant Fear (Gone, #5) by Michael Grant The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell Fire (Graceling Realm, #2) by Kristin Cashore Golden by Jessi Kirby Dark Places by Gillian Flynn Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller

The sea of tranquility, Golden and The hallowed ones really stood out but they were all great. I also loved Fangirl but I was a little dispapointed by the last few chapters and how some parts of the plot weren't explored as much as I would have wanted (and some things were a little rushed in my opinion) but the rest of the book was fabulous.

And I also read The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle and it was probably one of the worst book I've read. I'm just thankfull it's so pretty and that it looks good on my shelf....

I'm now reading How to Love by Katie Cotugno and to be perfeclty honest when I brought it this morning, I was expecting it to be another ''Infinite moment of us'' and by that I mean a beautiful cover for a corny and terribly written(when it comes to characters and dialogues at least) book but so far I love it! It's not the kind of plot I usualy like but I love it anyway.
Before that, I had started Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover (finally!) but How to love is so good that I can't put it down.

message 2162: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) I'm reading Bless the Beasts and Children by Glendon Swarthout and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver for my AP Lit class. The second one is my independent novel of the trimester and I'll be writing an analysis of it. I'm only 18 pages into it, and it already seems like an excellent book!

I'll also be starting another book soon, but I don't know which one yet.

I feel the exact same way, I used to love the Lux series. After I put off reading Opal for a long time and started reading it again, I found myself not really getting into it. So I had to put it on hold yet again. :|

I'm finding it okay, I'm about 25% into it. It's good but there are bits and pieces that I find annoying, so we'll see. I hope it gets better though.

Tessa (tessa_ioana) | 1861 comments Currently reading:
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys - so far it's interesting and the characters are very charming, but I feel the story is going to have a sad ending. Or maybe not, after all...she is trying to get out of the "easy" and the title supports her in that direction :).
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - I just started reading this one, have read only 3 chapters so far, but it looks promising.
Dance of the Red Death (Masque of the Red Death, #2) by Bethany Griffin - I loved the prequel, and I loved Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death", but the story is moving too slow. Get to the action already. I'm half way through the book and they're still just running in circles, plus, the love triangle just ruined the entire gothic atmosphere.

Carly Svamvour (faganlady) | 15 comments This is not a SF or Fantasy - I am currently reading And the Mountains Echoed by Khomeini ... same author as The Kite Runner.

It's fabulous - he outdoes himself in this one!

It's a collection of stories that are more than loosely connected ... I can't seem to stop putting my earphones on and continuing with the listen.

I just finished with Arsen by Mia Asher as well, it's the first time I have let my morals get in the way of truly liking a book. It's really good though. But I want a protagonist I could root for and not hate. haha
