Loved the first book, but this one maybe not as much.

I'm really in love with Jennifer L. Armentrout's Lux series (I can't wait to get my hands on the third book, haha!), however I'm a bit weary about reading Half-Blood. Is it any good?

I just finished and I thought it was okay. I have never read her before, so I don't know the Lux series, so I can't compare it. I did want to keep reading and I did like the characters. But there were no surprises, everything was pretty easy to figure out and I found the characters pretty typical. So, for me it was average. I gave it 3 stars.

Not sure what to read next! Think I'm going to go with Timepiece (Hourglass, #2) by Myra McEntire

message 1810: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments Today, I finished both Truly, Madly, Deadly by Hannah Jayne and I really enjoyed it but it also had a lot of flaws (a lot of clichés and stuffs). I also finished The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross and I liked it but I think I wasn't in the mood to enjoy this kind of book. Also, in the first chapters, I loved the main character and by the end I had a lot of issues with her so I was dissapointed by that. And it felt a little more ''corny'' at times that I expected.

I'm going camping for a few days and I'm bringing I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls, #1) by Ally Carter and Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer . Also I'm bringing my ipad and I have a lot of books on it so we'll see what I pick up ;)

Yeah, the second is from the POV of Kaleb - the boy whose father they bought back from the dead. It's really confusing though, because I kept expecting to be with Em, not Kaleb, and I just couldn't relate to him at all. Really hope that the next one is better, cause this one was pretty poo.

message 1825: by Kay (new)

Kay (kaylerz) I just finished You Against Me by Jenny Downham I really liked it, which honestly surprised me. I thought it was going to be really predictable and disappointing.
I am now starting Black Box by Julie Schumacher I'm not far enough into it to really say what I think about it, but I think I'll enjoy it. :)

Jodi (readinbooks) | 327 comments I am reading Ender's Game (Ender's Saga, #1) by Orson Scott Card , which I really like,

Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) by Kami Garcia , which I am barely into but hope to get a lot read tonight.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier , which I can only pick up again after I finish the top two books

A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin I barely can pick up because I have so many other books on my plate.

Marie | 257 comments I finished I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls, #1) by Ally Carter yesterday and I really liked so far.

Now, I'm reading Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer and I don't really know what to say. It's boring so far, mostly because I feel like I read that book a thousand times before...

message 1835: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments This week, I've read Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella and I don't understand why so many people are so dissapointed by it. I loved it.

I also read Ender's Game (Ender's Saga, #1) by Orson Scott Card and hated it and gave it my first 1 star rating.

I'm now reading Breakfast at Darcy's by Ali McNamara and really liked it so far. I see a litte bit of myself in the main character like for exemple, in the first chapter she mentions that she doesn't like going to weddings because when she always wonder if the coupe will stay together or just get a divorce in a dew years and that kind of stuff loll.

message 1843: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments I've been on a trip for a few days now and I already had time to read a few books! I finished Breakfast at Darcy's by Ali McNamara and it was really good. But the ending was a dissapointement. The romance' bulding was really good but how they got together...argh...just it was rushed and I wasn't satisfied.

I also had time to reread The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins and Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins for the first time (and it was the first time I read them in english) and it was amazing. I knew that Peeta was such a great characer/person but I forgot hpw great he was. There was a scene with him in Catching Fire that made me tear up a little.

I also started Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta and it's already amazing so far and I only read a few pages.
