Marie | 257 comments I just finished Before I Wake (Soul Screamers, #6) by Rachel Vincent and it was amazing. I can't wait for the last book of this series (thank god it's almost out!).

I also finished Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare and I'm a little bit torned about it. I thought the first 200 pages were really boring and I'm still not that much of a fan of the plot but I really liked some of the characters and once I was done with the first 200 pages, the book got really addictive.
That being said, I'm a little bit dissapointed about Jem. I had heard so many great things about him that I expected to feel something stonger for him but for now, I like him but I'm not ''in love'' with him yet, We'll see if it changes with Clockwork Prince!

But I don't know what to read now, any suggestions guys?

Britney | 6 comments I just started the third Book from the Fallen Series by Thomas E. Sniegoski. It's pretty good so far. Though, reading Hemingway's "To Have and To Have Not" for my college class is interfering with the over 6 books that I want to read.

I hope you decide to try the second Infernal Devices book. Jem plays a much bigger role in book two, when he becomes a love interest.

I saw you had Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine on your TBR list. That's a really good series. You could give it a try.

The main character is annoying me so far, She's whiny.
I know she's just died but still..
The boy is alright though.
I'm only about 15% in so far though, hopefully she gets less annoying.

I just finished it, and i liked it.
She was whiny for about 2 thirds of the book, but in the end, she redeemed herself.
I really liked the last third, and the ending was cute. :)

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little dissapointed so far because I don't think it's really different from many other books I've read but I'm not that far into it so maybe it will grow on me. I'm pretty sure it will!

I read it kind of slowly cause I wasn't like...riveted by it, but by the time I finished I really had to appreciate it. Plus, I liked the second book better. There was more action, romance, and intrigue in it and it left me with a lot more to think about!

Thanks for sharing your experience about the book, I do feel like this is the kind of series where I will like each book but I will appreciate the series a lot more as a whole.

Edit: So I just finished Cinder and I must say that the second half of the book was a lot more interesting than the first one. The only real issue I have with the book is that I thought that the revelations were very predictible but it's still a good book and I'm exited about Scarlet. And I really like Prince Kai and I don't undertand all the negative things I've read about him in some reviews. Yes, he's not the usual ''hero'' and he has flaws but to me that only make him feel like a real person instead of just a character and I like that he has room to grow as a character.

I agree, we do feel the same way about Cinder. However, I like Scarlet more, it's way so much better, I can guarantee you that! :)

I also have a feeling that I'll like Scarlet even better! And I'm pretty sure I'll like Wolf but for very different reasons than why I like Kai. I'm actually about to start Scarlet. The only thing I don't look forward about it is that I've heard Kai is barely in it and While I think I'll really like Scarlet and Will as characters, I hope he will be more present in the last 2 books of the series because I'm not really liking the idea of creating new characters and ''erasing'' old ones. Well, Only 1 year until I'll find out if he's more present right?!

Also, I just finished
Fallen Too Far (Too Far, #1) by Abbi Glines .
I'll admit that I'm not Abbi Glines's biggest fan. I think she seems like a very sweet and funny women but I don't understand all the hype about her books and after I had read the first two books of her Vincent Boys series, I didn't thought I would ever read another book of her because to me, those 2 books were really bad and I almost never say a book is bad. Yes, sometimes I don't like a book but ever so, I don't think it's bad.

Still, I got curious and I wanted to see if her books got better so I decided to read Fallen too far. Well, I will admit that I did enjoy it a litte more than the Vincent Boys but barely. My main problem with Abbi Glines's book is that they feel more like fanfictions than actual books. It's full of cliché, it's predictable and the writting is barely alright. It almost feel like a book anyone coul write.

I don't like writting such negative things, specially because I really like Abbi as a person but I want to be honest in my reviews so I decided to say exactly what I thought. Still, it's only my opinion and I understand and respect everyone who doesn't agree with me!

I can't really disagree with anything you say about Abbi Glines' books, but I still find them the type of guilty pleasure books I just really enjoy from time to time. Never read the Vincent Boy books, though.

message 1239: by Marie (last edited Mar 18, 2013 10:57PM) (new)

Marie | 257 comments Yeah, I can understand her books being ''Guilty pleasure''. I would like if I would say that I didn't enjoyed Fallen too far at all after all. And I can say for sure since I've only read three of her books but I think that her all her other series seem a little better wrotten than her Vincent boys series.

Edit: So I'm almost half way in Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer and....I'm loving it!!! I didn't thought it would be the case before I read Cinder (from reading the the synopsis)but I really connect a lot more with Scarlet as a character and I also connect a lot more with the plot itself. I'm also pleasently surprised by Wolf. I still like Kai but I like both characters for very different reasons.
