Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments I'm reading the sequel to I Hunt Killers, Game (Jasper Dent, #2) by Barry Lyga which is a lot more of a mystery than the first book and has additional points of view. It is still scary, though, and I should not be reading it before bed. I've been waking myself up with bad dreams and anxiety!

I'm so confused about it! I had great expectations for it, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It is very average. I haven't finished it but I would give it a 3 star already.

Leigh (leighsalv) Currently reading
Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare

message 1458: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments I've just finshed Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare and I don't know what to say. It kile Cassandra Clare broke my heart, then fixed it, then broke it agin and they fixed it again so now all the pieces are back together but there will always be cracks in my heart...

While reading CP, I realized one thing, I don't care at all dor the main plot of The infernal devices. To be honest, there were parts in CP (and even more in CA) that bored me. But I was so interested in the chacarcters that it almost didn't matter to me. I looooove Will and he's always be my favorite character of the series because I've felt a connection to him from the very beginning but I came o really like most of the others characters too, specially Magnus, and to be honest, while reading City of bones, Clockwork Angel and some quotes of him I've read online from the rest of the Mortal instruments series, I didn't understood why so many people loved im but Clockwork Prince made me, how can say this....it made see him for the first time and now I love him and while I love Will and Jem's frienship, I feel that Magnus and Will's frienship is so underated. I also really liked Gabriel, a character that stood out in my opinion because his flaws weren't as nobles as the ones of most other characters. I also really liked Gideon. Ans while there was a few scenes in CP and Clockworkrincess where Jem made me really mad, I grew to really like him and while I didn't always 'felt'' Tessa's connection to im, there were also a few moments where I really liked them together.

And I cried..like a baby, just like I cried in Clockwork prince.I already k ewthe ending but I cried anyway, and I cried in a lot of other chapters. And I dont cry pften when I read a book.

So in the end I would give this book 4.5. In some ways, I liked it ever more that Clockwork prince but the plot just didn't grapped me as much and even more than that, it almost dissapointed me. Also, I never really grew to care for Charlotte wich I think it's a shame because she's such an important character and they're nothing wrong with her. But in the end of the day, the characters and their journey will always stay with me.

And I just started This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith .

I love what you said at the start...how the book broke your heart, put it together again, and broke it again. I felt the same way about that and how my major love or these books came from loving the characters' personal stories , not their fight with Mortmain. I agree about the importance of Magnus' friendship. I wish there was more in the epilogue about him and I hope maybe in the next Mortal Instruments books we will see his friendship with Tessa more.

I've been having this contemporary reading marathon these days. Anyways, yes they are indeed addictive however I didn't love it as much as I expected to. I did like it though, it's still a good and enjoyable read. But I think I'm loving Hopeless. :)

message 1470: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments I just finished This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith and it was cute but nothing special. I'm a little sick of male celebrities portrayed as ''misunderstood'', ''lonely'', and always falling for the ''normal'' girl, the one who never wears make up, always wears jeans (everyone knows a girl can't wear dresses and skirts or put makeup on and be smart....). And of course the female celebritie is always a ''bi***'', the the male characters always look down on her because she likes fame, eat salad instead of eating fastfood or homemade food.

I'm all for natural girl, who don't care about the way they look and I'm all for girls who know how to use their but I hate how girls who aren't totally natural are always portrayed as superficial, stupid and annoying. Just because a girl wears makeup or like to shop doesn't mean she's evil....I wish more authors would writte female characters that aren't totally unidimensional...

Anyway, I did enjoyed the book but I didn't really care for the characters.

I'm about to start Wentworth Hall by Abby Grahame . I just brought it today and didn't planed to read it so soon but I just checked the rating and it's so low that it got me really curious about the book!

Marie | 257 comments I finished Rush (Breathless, #1) by Maya Banks and I wasn't crazy about it but I did like it and couldn't put it down.

I also read Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver and I liked it more than Delirium I think.

And I'm still reading The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer and I'm about to start The Texas Ranger's Daughter by Jenna Kernan

message 1481: by Marie (last edited Apr 29, 2013 05:41PM) (new)

Marie | 257 comments So I finished The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer and it was just amazing as the first time. I loved the bonus chapter.

I also read Requiem (Delirium, #3) by Lauren Oliver and Lena is officially one of the character I hate the most. I was never a big fan but I liked her but her actions torward Julian made me so angry and her actions to Hana too( but they were more justitifed, but stil)... To me, she got way more naive and selfish in this book and I think it's such a shame. Also, while I liked the last few sentences of the book(I thought it was quite inspiring), I tried to reflect on the plot of the book and I felt like, a lot of things happened but in the end, nothing happened...I know it doesn't make a lot of sense loll.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. It's quite an easy read. I almost gave it 4 stars but the number of times of times where I was angry surpassed all the positives things I got from this book so in the end I gave it 3 stars.I really need to pick something good from my shelf to get over this book.

message 1482: by Kyra (new)

Kyra I've finished An Abundance of Katherines by John Green , four stars, and Vacaciones Al Sol by Lourdes Miquel , for school (two stars). I'm currently reading Tiger's Destiny (The Tiger Saga, #4) by Colleen Houck , I hope the love triangle will be less present, but who am I kidding, this will be a mushy book. Ugh.

message 1483: by Greta (new)

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Kyra, I'm also reading Tiger's Destiny (The Tiger Saga, #4) by Colleen Houck but I know it's going to drive me crazy.
Also reading Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy, #2) by Wendy Higgins ? I heart Kaiden and Anna!

Marie | 257 comments I've just finished Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls, #1) by C.C. Hunter and I liked a lot (I also liked it better than I expected). There were a few things that bugged me like sometimes, it almost felt like the author was using the main character to preach about sex but it was still a very enjoyable read. It almost reminded me of Hex hall, Nothing really special but full of pure fun ;)

I also started Erebos by Ursula Poznanski and I'm so exited abour this one. It sounds very exiting and I've always wanted to read about this kind of plot.

Marie | 257 comments 2 Derek fan here I see. I'm really not a fan of his for now. I thought that both romance were rushed and especially the one with Derek. As you read the series more, both Lucas and Derek do things that kind of make them jerks, but I guess I'm more understanding about Derek.

message 1497: by Marie (new)
