message 1401: by Sandee is Reading (new)

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) currently reading The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass and so far so good. I think I'm liking it but I can't deny the fact that it is kind of similar to Hunger Games without all the gory stuff I guess. :p

also reading Wait for You (Wait for You, #1) by J. Lynn by one of my favorite authors. I am totally loving Cam but I'm not that much into the story yet unfortunately. :(

What do you think of
Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies, #1) by Isaac Marion . I think most people either love it or hate it.

Currently reading The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus, #3) by Rick Riordan

message 1416: by Marie (new)

Marie | 257 comments I just finished Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver and I really liked it. It reminded me a lot of Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie but I felt more connected to the characters in Delirium than in Matched (That being said, I think I respect Cassia even more than Lana). The plot didn't felt as special as I thought it would from all the amazing reviews I had read but it was really good and I couldn't put it down.

Before that I also read The Ashford Affair by Lauren Willig , a book I've won on goodreads and I loved it! It made me feel so many emotions and like Delirium, I couldn't put it down.

I will now go check my shelf to decide the next book I'll read ;)

Kyra Finished Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden yesterday, and it was AMAZING :p And, I found out that it's literature. Plus points.
I'm a bit reluctant to start
Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls, #1) by C.C. Hunter , but I only have nine books on my TBR shelve left.

Ivanna (ivannarazote) | 195 comments I had a contemporary reading marathon these past few days with Measuring Up by Nyrae Dawn , Charade (Games, #1) by Nyrae Dawn and Forever My Girl (Beaumont, #1) by Heidi McLaughlin .

I enjoyed all of them, but Forever My Girl (Beaumont, #1) by Heidi McLaughlin blew me away. I definitely recommend it to fans of Gayle Forman's Where She Went.

Well, I always buy a load of books and forbid myself to buy more. Most of you buy books whenever you want, so the pile keeps growing. So, me almost finishing with all my TBR books isn't that much of an accomplishment. But when my TBR stack is finished, I'll be buying books whenever I feel like it (and have money ...) which I'm really looking forward to (:

O, I wanted to ask you something. How do you organize your bookcase ? Do you keep the TBR books with the others or not ?

message 1423: by Marie (last edited Apr 16, 2013 05:26PM) (new)

Marie | 257 comments I decided to count the number of TBR books I have and I almost have 100!!! The thing is, I buy most of my books in the bargain section on amazon because they don't always have them back once they're sold out so I often buy books that I plan to read but I'm not in a rush either and I also buy a lot of second or third book in a series in the bargain section to save some money so I don't have the first books yet and can't start those yet.

I only buy a few new books once in a while and I admit I go a little crazy on special occasions (birthday...in less than a month btw, and I'm going on a trip to a city that has AMAZING BOOKSTORES, so exited!).

But I like have a big TBR stack. I love having so many choices and that my bookcase is my personal library ;).

Anyway, yestersay I read Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger and I looooovvvvveeeddd it. I loved the romance and the 2 main characters. I'm glad that I brought the box sets intead of the individual books because I can't wait to read the other books of this series.

This morning I started Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare . I'm not far into it but It's already working better for me than Clockwork Angel. I'm really curious to see if Jem will finally caught my attention is this one. Don't get me wrong, I like him! I'm just not as attached to him as most people seem to be yet but maybe it will change with Clockwork Prince ;)

Jem is a character that grew on me, till by the end of the third book, I valued him as a character more than I did Will.

What do you mean by the "bargain section" on Amazon? Can you leave a link for it? Thanks :)

Jem is a character I can picture myself respecting more and more with each book but I don't think I'll ever be as intested in him or care about him as much as Will. While I like almost every characters in The Infernal Devices, he's the only one I really feel a connection to. Which is surprising because I can relate a lot more to many other characters (specially Tessa). But again, so many things can change in one book, and even more in two!

The bargain section is a section on amazon with books on sale. Sometimes they have a black mark on the edge of the book.Sometimes the publisher printed too many copies, in other cases bookstores purchased too many copies and have returned them to the publisher for credit. The books are in great condition however.

I suppose that Tessa was the most relatable, but I felt a deep connection to all three by the end of the series.

Thanks for the links, they redirected to US Amazon. :)

That's smart (: Now I use post-it notes and my memory, but if I have 100 TBR books like Marie, that wouldn't be enough :p

Marie | 257 comments Just finished Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare and I loved it so much better tha Clockwork Angel. I just felt more connected to the caracters. Jem is still isn't one of my favorite character but I did almost started shipping him and Tessa in the middle of the book and was almost scared he would take the place of Will in my heart but no, by the end of the book I was fully back ton ''Team Will'' because while I like almost all the characters of the series now that I've read Clockwork Prince, Will still is the only character that can make me feel intense emotions (and the ending, arghhh, I already knew it since I was spoiled but it still broke my heart and fixed at the same time....).

And now I just started
