The Catastrophic History of You and Me is pretty good, but sad. Black City has been on my TBR forever!

I picked up Catastrophic because of a blurb on the book from Lauren Oliver, praising it. And Black City has also been on my TBR list - I see a buddy read in our future . . .

Steph is: Pageturning578 (stephw1991) I had an excuse to go to Barnes and Noble yesterday my internet was down and it was driving me nuts! But in all reality I was planning to go anyway because one of my favorite YA authors Sarah Dessen just released her new book

The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen !!!

I am very excited to read this one because it takes place the summer before her main character goes off to college. In interviews Sarah has explained that everything changes for this character and I can relate to this because my life turned up side down my senior year of high school as well. Sarah Dessen has a special place in my heart because I read a lot of her books in middle school and found my love for reading through her stories!

Also for those who bought the Hunger Games in paperback Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins is now out in paperback!!! and I'm sure the employes at my Barnes and Noble are excited because I will finally stop asking them when it will be released!

I literally did! I bought the first one in paperback thinking the second one was going to be release soon after but I had to wait 2 years!

message 908: by Mara (new)

Mara (maraanne) Just ordered my copy of The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater !

message 909: by Hazel (new)

Hazel West | 70 comments I don't know about you Mara, but I'm totally excited to re-read Raven Boys before the next one comes out =D I'm really hoping to have time to re-read Scorpio Races as well.

I sadly haven't gotten to buy any books lately though I did just order some copies of own new release :P A Case of Poisons (Anthony Maxwell #1) by Hazel B. West I'm planning to make a trip to several used book stores this summer though, so I'm very excited about that. I think the last book I bought was The Capricorn Bracelet by Rosemary Sutcliff

message 910: by Bee (new)

Bee (justabluebee) I bought Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and Siege and Storm (The Grisha, #2) by Leigh Bardugo (hardback) on Bookdepository! :D Yay.

message 915: by Donna (new)

Donna (donanicole) | 897 comments I finished Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu and Prodigy (Legend, #2) by Marie Lu and am now reading Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre , all print copies from my local library. They are not in digital yet and I am soooo disappointed! The print is so very small and I like being able to adjust my Kindle font, light, etc. But back to the books, I absolutely loved Marie Lu's books and loved Prodigy (Legend, #2) by Marie Lu even more than Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu . I can so see it as a movie and it has been acquired for a movie. I could see and hear Day standing on the balcony giving his speech to save the Republic. I hope I have not given too much away but this book touched me so much. I am impatiently waiting for Champion, the third book in the series, to be released this November 5th. I may have to even buy it and I don't buy books over $5.

Awesome! I just finished Legend and really liked it. I need to start Prodigy soon. Really liked Enclave, too! I just bought:
Down to You (The Bad Boys, #1) by M. Leighton , Tangled (Tangled, #1) by Emma Chase , Siege and Storm (The Grisha, #2) by Leigh Bardugo , The Elite (The Selection, #2) by Kiera Cass , and pre-ordered Forever Too Far (Too Far, #3) by Abbi Glines .

I also loved Legend and Prodigy, and also Enclave. The sequel, Outpost is really good, too. I think Horde comes out in September, and I think that finishes the series! I know, I can't wait for Champion, either!

chucklesthescot Feel free to express sympathy for me as I have put a 'no buying' order on myself to run from June 10th-August 20th. I'm on a birthday group over on bookcrossing and some members of the group may be looking at my wishlist and sending me books so I can't risk buying anything until after my birthday in case I buy something that has already been posted to me!
*sniff...sob...shudder*

I am going on one big book splurge after the 20th!!!

I'm not a huge fan of constant swearing in books. Fine if it is used occasionally for effect or a purpose but I hate reading f this f that every few lines. I prefer authors who write good gripping dialogue.
