I know, I have a bunch of books too (you have me beat though). I get that It's not as special with an e-book. I remember going to get the last Harry Potter book when it came out and that feeling of holding the book in my hands. If it's a long book like that I like to get an actual book.

My Birthday trip to Iowa City yesterday was so fun! And I found a lot of books (of course!)

I also got the coolest Miss Peregrine's for Peculiar Children tote bag, an Iowa Hawkeyes long sleeved shirt, a little matchbook that had a John Steinback book cover, a cool note card with a great quote by Thomas Jefferson, a HP Funko Pop keychain--with Harry in his Quidditch robes and goggles from PoA--, Beauty and the Beast flip flops, some Platzgraff bowls in beautiful colors, and a glass mug set to make Root Beer Floats in!

The last few days I've picked up:

My Target was having a big sale on YA paperbacks--a whole bunch for $6 each! Red Queen, The Crown's Game, and The Wrath and the Dawn are the ones I picked up from that sale. They had a ton of contemporaries and good summer reads too. You all might want to check and see if your Targets have the same deal!

Woot! I wish I'd had a teacher like you when I was a teen!! Of course, there wasn't really a big YA section at the time. As a teen I missed out! But not really, I read a ton of classics in high school :)

I don't think I shared what books I picked up from author events this week. :-D

From last Wednesday night's giant author signing at my local book store, I bought these:
and the two new paperback covers of and . All got signed. Woot. I also brought my copies from home and to get signed.

And then on Saturday at ComiCon, I brought from home and bought
to get signed. And all day long I would pop over to the Del Rey booth as they had free books and/or author signings giving away free books. I was in bookworm heaven!

Signings with giveaways (yes, I just bought this on Wednesday night and got a free copy in Hardback! Woot) (this one's been on my radar) (yup, bought this one on Wednesday too) (I also have a signed copy of this one from last year) and .

Oh I forgot about my latest Book Outlet order! These were all scratch and dent copies, they had a sale on those for 30% off, so most of these were $1.39 or so. A few were $1.88. And they arrived with very minor imperfections, so YAY!

The YA section on my library's booksale today was kind of lame so I got mostly adult fiction books. I got Fairest by Levine, Pretty Little Liars, True Colors by Hannah, The Courtesan, The Good Girl, and The Zookeeper's Wife.

Thanks! I've read The Darkest Part of the Forest (rated it 5 stars, LOVED it!) but I didn't own it yet, so that was perfect! And I've been wanting to read more Garth Nix, so another good pick for me!
