When it gets close I will need advise on how to do this. They are having booth autographs and an autographing area.

I need to prioritize a list and which ones I can bring a book from home etc.

MaymayintheKitchen (laurooou) | 10 comments Wild Pork and Watercress by Barry Crump. The movie adaptation (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) just came out in New Zealand and it is the sweetest and funniest movie that I've seen in a long time. So I really wanted to read the book !

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments I bought The Clockwork Scarab as a Kindle daily deal yesterday & it's still a deal today! Looks like a good Sherlock type mystery!

Nice bookhaul, Jenny!! I need Winner's Kiss! Loved Strings on audio!!!! Love Kate Rudd!

It took me a year to get through Outlander on audio, but mostly because the narrator's voice is sooooooo soothing, I'd fall asleep almost instantly. In fact, when I've got insomnia, I just put on Outlander to help me relax. ;) Love the narrator!

Nancy, Jenny and I brought ALL our books from home! We each had a portable bookcrate we rolled everywhere. And then we bought tons more books at the event. Unless it's a widely popular author like Diana Gabaldon or R. L. Stine, most don't care how many books you bring and are happy to sign them all. I think Jenny had 5 or more for a couple of authors. They seemed very flattered. :) But the ones with lines that go on forever usually only sign 3 per person. R.L. Stine wouldn't personalize but Diana did.

message 7510: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (paper_addict) That is good to know. I will bring books regardless if it says I have to buy a book etc.

Davina Porter is one of my all time favorite narrators and the only reason I finished Outlander! That book needed to be cut by at least 200 pages!

I need to, but I want to buy the entire series too! I have to wait on this one though. I have way too many books I've bought recently that I need to read first.

I just found out a bookstore 5 minutes away has a bunch of the ComiCon authors coming on one night PLUS Pierce Brown! I can almost walk there. 17 authors! Dan Wells, Scott Sigler, V.E. Schwab, Pierce Brown, Kevin Hearne... This event is the Wednesday before ComiCon. And then Justin Cronin is at another bookstore 2 days after ComiCon. I'm losing my mind!!

Today I went to the North Iowa Book Bash and had an absolute blast!! Met some really cool authors (that I'd never heard of) and picked up some books I'm looking forward to reading!

Spectrum by Kay Kadinger The Forest Bull (The Fearless, #1) by Terry Maggert Orchard (Orchard, #1) by Jed Quinn What's Left of Us (What's Left of Me, #2) by Amanda Maxlyn Dragon Called (The Remnants of the Past #1) by Melissa Christopherson Hade's Gambit (The Krypteia Conspiracy, #1) by Michael Koogler The Rise of Cain (The Krypteia Conspiracy #2) by Michael Koogler

I did know who Kelly Van Hull is, the author of Tent City (Tent City #1) by Kelly Van Hull Spectrum is her book, but under a pen name. Excited to read it! It was so fun to meet her!

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments Finally got my copy of:

The Raven King (The Raven Cycle, #4) by Maggie Stiefvater

I already read the ebook, but I'm so happy to have a physical copy!! It's such a beautiful book, both inside and out. ;)

Also pre-ordered:

The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo, #1) by Rick Riordan

Which I believe is supposed to come in the mail tomorrow! I'd somehow forgotten it was coming out so soon, and I'm very excited to read it. :)

Oh and today I bought for Kindle:

Sinner (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #4) by Maggie Stiefvater

I realized I'd never gotten around to reading it, and I think it's the only Maggie Stiefvater book I haven't read. :P

Wooot!! I need to get this one. Question--is it a series that takes place AFTER The Heroes of Olympus series? I'm asking because I've only read the first 2 books in that series. I have read all the original Percy Jackson books. So I'm just wondering if I'd need to finish the Heroes series before reading this one.

message 7542: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments Yes, it takes place after Heroes of Olympus. I haven't started it yet so I'm not sure whether you need to know everything that happens in HoO––but I have seen Rick say that almost all the PJO/HoO characters are going to be in it, so it may be worth finishing those first! Also you should totally finish that series anyway, because it's great. :D
