Which books of LH don't you like? I know with the exception of her two latest books, Running Wild and Shadow Woman, I did not like her newer books. Let's see Cover of Night, Veil of Night, Blood Born. Oh yeah there was Ice. There are more I just can't think of them. But from our Q&A I think that was the period of time when LH was undergoing cancer treatment.

I really like the books, but because of the content I can't read them one after another. You also have to read them in order. If you have read Black Ice, then read Cold as Ice, then Ice Storm. It really helps.

Wow. All except Lucky Charm I haven't read the others but how great. Recently, I was somewhere in which I had to sit and wait. My kindle was a God-send.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments Lady be Good was laugh out loud funny in spots and unbearably serious in other spots. I really enjoyed it. Emma fears she is becoming a dotty, dear thing (I just love that phrase). The Duke is a pig and Kenny is drop dead gorgeous but takes his time finally “getting it”. Let me know when you read Glitter Baby and I'll read with you.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments I saw a man die today, really. I was out to brunch with my sister in law, brother in law and my daughter, at Scotty's in Hermosa Beach, CA. Nothing I have ever read is anything like seeing this in reality. The paramedics worked for over an hour before they called him deceased. It was a beautiful, sunny perfect day on the beach. The sky was blue, the sea was calm.

Wendy Kalthoff (wkalthoff) | 132 comments I just finished Kiss and Tell (Sunrise Key Trilogy #1) by Suzanne Brockmann . i gave it 3 stars because there was no way a heroine could be that clueless.I liked the hero, but who would let the women they liked go around kissing other guys.

Thank you Dee. All my family is in town for the "Torrance" wedding reception for my brother in law and his new wife. I had 16 for dinner Thursday night. We were out to brunch on Friday and were waiting for everyone to get there. An older man, 70 maybe 75 and his friend came in from a bike ride, sat down and ordered. We has just gotten my sister in law situated, she has MS and is in a wheel chair, when the older man was down on the floor and his friend was frantically trying to explain what happened. Then the paramedics arrived. They couldn't revive him. My daughter, who works with a cardiology group knew exactly what was happening. Everyone in the restaurant was in shock. They cleared the restaurant and we went elsewhere. We really didn't have much appetite. I have been really busy with family functions since then.

Now that all my family has finally gone home it is great to get back to normal, not that live with 5 grandkids running around can ever be normal. They keep me grounded and make me appreciate life and make the most of what I have.

message 333: by Carly (new)

Carly Carson | 60 comments I agree with Dee. The first time I liked it okay. But it was better by the 3rd time. Lol. Who reads a book again when it was only okay the first time? I guess I do but only because it was LH.

message 334: by Carly (new)

Carly Carson | 60 comments Yesterday I picked up a book written by LH and the other Linda, but it was about vampires and I don't do vampires so I put it back. Does anyone know if the joint books are good?

message 335: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Hey Carly, Personally I loved Running Wild (another joint venture between the two Lindas) but, I was bored with Blood Born. I only read it once, so maybe if I reread it I might like it better. I know several members really liked it and wanted to have more of them. I know I have not been crazy about a couple of LH books and then when I have reread it I really liked the book. Maybe others can give you their opinions.

message 336: by Carly (new)

Carly Carson | 60 comments I got got Running Wild instead and I'm reading it now. I really like it, but I think the sexual tension is missing, which is okay, but not what I expect of LH. I'm only halfway through.

message 337: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Personally, several of her books starting with Burn and Cover of Night were not up to her high standards. Of course, from the Q&A we had last January I understand she was undergoing Thyroid Cancer treatment. It was very understandable. In fact, I have to give her credit for even writing at all. Anyway when I read Running Wild and Shadow Woman I was so glad her books were getting back to normal. I agree the sex didn't have the intensity, but for me I have a tendency to skip that part anyway. After reading Umpteen million books there is not much that really excites me.

message 338: by Janeiowa (new)

Janeiowa | 5009 comments It's interesting how we view the books of authors we admire. I love Cover of Night...those twin boys and Mista Hawrris (or however they say it) absolutely make me chuckle. The plot was also a whole different twist from that found in so many of the romance books I enjoy.

It's the vampire stuff and historicals I don't like and won't touch. So, I guess we're fortunate she's written so many great books to savor.

message 339: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I loved the book until the end.

message 340: by Janeiowa (new)

Janeiowa | 5009 comments What was it that bothered you about the end?

message 341: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I think there could have been more drama. It was almost anticlimactic. What was the one in which the whole town was kept hostage? That was the one I really disliked.

message 342: by Janeiowa (last edited Jun 16, 2013 04:00PM) (new)

Janeiowa | 5009 comments That was it...Cover of Night.

For me, Open Season is the one I've never been able to get started. The thing about human trafficking is just something I can't get passed.

Ame | 26 comments I have been introduced to MM literature and it has kind of taken over my reading... funny since I'm a straight female. I've finished Cut&Run series and am now reading Adrien English Mysteries.

The reason I didn't like Cover of Night was because it just didn't seem believable. Even if the book is strictly fantasy, there has to be an element of reality for me to like it.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I am reading Captured Lies Captured Lies by Maggie Thom , a member/author of our group. I am listening to Inner Harbor Inner Harbor (Chesapeake Bay Saga, #3) by Nora Roberts and Smoke Screen Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown (Those are when I drive or am doing something that I can't pick up a book or kindle)

When I get done with Captured Lies I am reading Lingerie Wars Lingerie Wars (Invertary, book one) by Janet Elizabeth Henderson by Janet Henderson also a author/member
