Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I LOVED The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning . It made me want to read her series. I wasn't too crazy about the Fae series from her.

I haven't read the witness. Thanks for the recommendation. I will put it on my TBR list.

I have seen so many great reviews on Dark Highlander Dee that I am excited to read it!! And def add The Witness to you TBR list....I absolutely loved it, my only complaint is that I wish the epilogue was more indepth....unfortunately that is true with a lot of author's though.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Ihave just finished Death Angel Death Angel by Linda Howard and Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James . ON the 50 shades trilogy, my recommendation is not to read them one after another. I got kind of burned out on the last one. I am going to have to reread it later, before I can give an honest opinion.

I read while on the treadmill too, it makes it so much more interesting. If I am reading something good I have to make sure I don't loose track of time and overdo it, lol.

Dana (dapperd) | 136 comments I just finished Easy (love it, btw) and have started Thoughtless which has been a huge disappointment so far. I'm about 25 pages in and want to give up on it, the main character is not enjoyable and the writing is meh.

I was so sceptical at first, it looks like just another angsty YA novel. If not for the GR reviews, I would have never read it. Honestly, I thought it was fantastic! It was a quick read for me (3 hours/1 sitting) but was beautifully written. I can't wait to read her again in the future.
Side note warning: It does touch on sexual assault, but is tastefully done.

To add..I finised Thoughless last night. It sligtly redeamed itself, I'm contemplating reading "effortless", the sequel to it. It has, somewhat suprisingly, earned high reviews from GR Nation.

Until then, I will be starting either Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire or Mine to Hold (Wicked Lovers, # 6) by Shayla Black tonight. I got a huge shipment of books in from Amazon last week and have been plowing through them. I <3 Amazon.

Adis (mylunar) | 127 comments Yay, currently reading Running Wild.. Little bit slow, but hey just got 30 pages...

message 61: by Dana (new)

Dana (dapperd) | 136 comments Just finished Beautiful Disasterlast night and started Mine to Hold.
I rea the reviews on Beautiful Disaster after I already ordered it...some angry GR readers out there! Based off the reviews, I was expecting the book to be a lot worse than it was. I would almost equate it to Twilight, and the obsession between B and E. It wasn't a great book by any means, Easy was so much better with a similar theme.
Started Mine to Hold...I'm disappointed so far. I'll keep reading it as it *might* have some promise, but I'm not expecting a great literary accomplishment.

Dana (dapperd) | 136 comments Just finished Mine to Hold, I'd recommend a big, fat PASS on this one if anyone is considering it. Ugh. Just placed another order for 10 books off Amazon, waiting for the shipment.
Until then I will be re-reading some of my favorites.
Shipment includes:

On the Island, Rock Me,Backstage Pass,Crash,Effortless,Hearts in Darkness and a few others.

I realize I update this with each new book, but I like getting ideas of future reads off these lists :)

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments I`m finally getting around to the last 3 books of the Black Dagger Brothers.
I loved the story of Payne and her new life,This is one very, very good book. The other two are good too.I think they are the best of all of them-for one reason the story kept to who it was supposed to feature, tho she did sneak in a little about the Basterd gang and their plans to take over-killing all but Vamps(starting with Wrath)

Both of these are great in audio Ame I listen to books on my iPod too. Open Season has two available abridged and unabridged....I have both because when first purchased it the abridged version was the only one offered.....I love having the complete version but I love the narriator on the shortened version best.

I have all of LH audio books and all have excellent narriator's.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I just finished Golden Chance The Golden Chance by Jayne Ann Krentz . It was about a woman, Philadelphia Fox, who inherits a controlling shares of Lightfoot Industries, from her best friend, Chrissy Masters. Chrissy was the illegimate daughter of one of the Lightfoot/Castletons. Of course, she was considered an outsider. Now the family has sent Nick Lightfoot to get them back. It was a slow start, but I really ended up liking it. I gave the book a 3.5-3.75. I was glad that it wasn't another psychic book like Jayne Anne Krentz is noted for.

I also read Sweet Talk by Julie Garwood. Sweet Talk by Julie Garwood It was better than a lot of her later modern books, but not nearly as good as her historicals. I gave it a 3

I'm also did a buddy read on the Gift The Gift (Crown's Spies, #3) by Julie Garwood , and I love the book. I found it really hilarous. I would give this one a 4

I am starting a buddy read on Honors splendour Honor's Splendour by Julie Garwood

Dana (dapperd) | 136 comments I just finished The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle , I totally don't get the hype/flood of 5 star reviews. Horrible editing! I also finished Creed (Unfinished Hero, #2) by Kristen Ashley last week...also not my favorite Kristen Ashley book. Looking forward to Raide, the next in the Unfinished Heroes Series. I would like to start Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward as I jumped in in the middle of the series.

Are these two Harkness books really good or just so so ?

message 85: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I loved Discovery of Witches. Because of the length of the book it took me forever to approach it, but once I started into it I really loved it. Harkness really keeps things moving, and when she gets into DNA stuff she explains it so the layman can understand it. I read it in a couple of days. I haven't gotten into Shadow of Night enough to tell you, but so far it is good.

Kathy Anne (kathyanne) | 598 comments My favorite genre is Ghosts and all I have been reading lately .I just finished a 5 star.
This a super book, about a mountain that is populated with Ghosts,in this book the Ghosts of an evil guy that likes to hurt people. He fouled up,and beat his new wife so bad he almost killed her...she got even tho,she waited till he was drunk and chopped his head off with an ax,and left
But she was pregnant with his kid-a girl baby, and so was one of his women still back on the mountain-a boy baby.
So these two kids meet and fall in love in collage(she gets pregnant by him,but does a self abortion) but were in a car wreck and he was killed.
Lke most of the reviews I`ve read I too think it`s one of the best books I`ve ever read
