Hi Lisarenee. I'm sorry. I could have sworn I answered you on this last week. I don't know if I typed it and then didn't post the message or what.
In any case, I'm good to go anytime. I'll keep checking back for updates. Take your time and enjoy The Peach Keeper and Archangel's Kiss.

1) So we now meet Faith Nightstar of a PsyClan. From what they're saying it sounds like only the F-PSy (foreseers) have PsyClans? Sounds curious. Does this hint to interbreeding or something? Seems like a way of distinguishing them or separating them from the rest of the populous.
2) I'm kind of smiling at the way Vaughn is acting toward Faith. He seems fascinated and bewildered all at once.
3) A replacement for Enrique is being sought. Faith, Gia Khan, and Kaleb Krychek are in the running. From what we learned in the last book that could put someone in danger.
4) What do you make of Faith's night terrors? Could it be she foresaw her sister's death?
5) What do you think of Faith's decision to seek out Sascha? I would think the Psy would somehow know Faith is missing.
6) Do you think the number of Psy who go insane and those who become serial killers was truly influenced by Silence or do you think there is a cover up that sweeps the numbers under the rug? I get the feeling the numbers are higher than they were before Silence.

7) We now know that this book takes place 1 year after the last one left off. Rumors are spreading about Sascha.
8) What do you think is going on with Faith's visions? Vaughn said he saw some black cloud/shadow around her. Additionally, it sounded like she became mind melded with a killer, but she said something about seeing the past? This was a little confusing for me.
9) The seizure was a little scary, but Vaughn didn't seem to disturbed by it. Makes me wonder if he does have some type of power that lets him mind read somehow.
10) Sascha thinks if you don't embrace your gift you'll slowly go insane. To keep this from leaking out people 'vanish' or get thrown in an institution. Sounds like Sascha is right.Just think of the cover up going on within the Psy. How has the council gotten away with this for so long?
11) Faith wakes up to find Vaughn in her bed and inquires, "What are you doing in my bed?" Darn but those Psy woman truly don't have any emotions. *Snort* I bet that is the response most woman would have when waking up with a hot guy in their bed(NOT!).lol
12)Do you think Faith will escape before a medical exam is preformed?

1) I never thought of the interbreeding issue. They are definitely kept apart from everyone else. A heartbreaking way to live, but then you have to remember Psy have no feelings.
2) Yes, I agree that Vaughn is acting strange. He's "caught" already and doesn't even know it. I can't wait to see what he goes through when Faith returns to the compound. Not that I like seeing someone tortured, but I would like to see him squirm a bit more.
3) This was very interesting to me - Enrique's replacement, but then I should have seen this coming. It's going to get really interesting if they pick Faith.
4) This was kind of confusing to me. She is able to forsee things all the time. However, I guess she is able to keep out the bad things by not associating with the outside world? I'm not sure. In any case, what does not make sense to me is: (1) If she avoids the forseeing the bad things by not associating with the outside world, how could she have foreseen her sister's death? (2)If she did actually foresee her sister's death, why is she not foreseeing all the other bad things going on in the world. This part doesn't make sense to me. Could just be me.
5) I think she is smart to seek out Sascha. Sascha is really her only hope right now I think. Although we know Vaughn will soon be falling into place, so to speak. As to the Psy not yet realizing she is missing, I think she is still within that 3 day grace period, so they probably aren't paying much attention right now. However, if they monitor her as closely as it sounds like they do, then yes, they should know she's gone missing, but they should also know where she it. But then, that can't be, or they would be coming to get Sascha if nothing else.
6) I get the same impression too - that it's worse since the inception of Silence, and they are just covering it up. It's going to be very interesting to see how the series continues to play it out in regards to the Silence.
I'll read chapters 6-9 tonight, and hopefully in time to get my answers in before tomorrow. I'm trying to get back on schedule.

8) This part is very fascinating to me. I guess it's like some kind of dark spirit he could see around her or something like that. I'm not sure spirit is the correct word here. He definitely knows there is another entity shadowing her, though. It's very scary. Whatever it is is very evil. Her becoming that connected to the killer is definitely disturbing. How can she keep from becoming the killer is my question? It's going to be very interesting to see how the author pulls this off. And apparently she can "see" the past as well as the future. Or some part of certain things in the past. At least that's the way I understood it.
9) The fascinating part for me here is that Vaughn can read her mind. Like when she wonders mentally how it would feel to touch him, he tells her to come closer and find out. It wasn't something she spoke verbally, but was a mental thing. It's fascinating that he can read her mind already. I like that. The seizure thing is really weird. Imagine having a seizure because you feel too much. And, how is this going to play out in the intimate realm. Again, it will be very interesting to see how the author pulls this off. She is very good at creating characters at compelte opposite ends, where there seems to be a mountain of insurmountable problems, and then somehow brings it all together.
10) Yes, the Council and the Silence are definitely the embodiment of evil in these stories, at least for me. This brings to mind an old saying I grew up with in respect to one's talents. If you have a gift, and you don't use it, or if you abuse it, you will lose that gift. Oddly enough, this part of what Sascha says in the book could be real to me. That certainly isn't the same as going insane, though. No one within the Psy has ever questioned the Council. Even Sascha at first didn't question the Council. It wasn't until her involvment with someone outside the Council that she started discovering things. Sounds like it's going to be the same process for Faith. However, Faith had Sascha to turn to, in order to get some answers.
11) Ummm, right. Not! That is not the time to be talking and asking questions. That would be a time for action! Lol.
12) I'm hoping Faith escapes soon. Remember now, the Council are looking at her as a possible replacement for Enrique. We can't forget about that little disturbance that's going on behind the scenes. I hope to read that Faith has escaped in the next chapters.
Sorry, I am behind. Hopefully, I will catch up to you soon.

I'm not sure about this either but my impression/thought was that since she knows her sister and has a link to her perhaps that overrode the normal conditions that would help her to avoid the vision. I'm curious by the one statement as to whether she can foresee both the future and past or just the future.

13) What do you make of her raw psychic potential? By the end she did seem to be expanding her powers. She's able to feel/sense Vaughn's presence and feel/see some of his emotions? I wonder why just him? Does it have something to do with that 'web of stars"? Could this be an indication that she would be compatible with it or just compatible with Vaughn?
14) So if we hear the term Protocol we now know it's the same thing as Silence. Is that the politically correct term for it?
15) The Psy were thinking of rewiring children's minds in search of the perfect unfeeling Psy? How terrible. Want to be there isn't some research going on right now doing just that?
16) So Silence was originally created by a cult named Mercury. Will we find out more about them? Could there as yet be a sect of these researchers/developers? Would they also have been subjected to silence or is there a portion of the population that does not undergo Silence?
17) Sascha believes the heart of Foresight is emotion. She claims by refusing to acknowledge her own emotions it caused her Psy shields to crack. She feel that could be what similarly happens to the F-psy which causes them to eventually go insane. Boy do I wish we had the before and after Silence statistics on things. Sascha also believes that is why Vaughn can get her out of her dark visions with his touch. He wakens/stimulates her emotions.
18) Just curious. It seems to me that Faith and her father have an unusual connection for a Psy family. He seems to care about her. It almost seems like a normal relationship without the hugs. Did you feel that way too>
19) Did we ever figure out what constitutes the mating dance in the last book? Is Vaughn in it's grips? His comment to his fellow sentinel about only he being able to laugh at Faith makes me wonder.

14) This kind of makes me wonder if the the Council is now getting ready to head in a different direction - maybe implement a new program or something like that? New name, new program? Since they can clearly tell Silence isn't working, is there hope afterall that the Council and the Psy world in general will now start to become more human? Although that would really mess up the stories wouldn't it? :)
15) This is horrendous, I don't care how you look at it. I understand about being able to do something about someone before they turn into a serial killer, but the answer is not rewiring our children's minds. There has to be another way.
16) This almost makes you wonder if there aren't a select "few" at the top that are controlling everything. Some secret group of something. I mean above even the Council. And exactly where are the Psy who were part of Mercury?
17) I'll say it again...I absolutely love the connection between Faith and Vaughn. Right away we could tell that the only way Faith comes out of those "dark" places in the beginning at least, is the touch of Vaughn. Nothing else can bring her back. So yet again, we have proof that Silence is very damaging. It's killing their people, yet they don't care.
18) Yes, I thought this father/daughter relationship was much different than the relationship between Sascha and her mother. It will be interesting to me to see how this plays out in the end.
19) I think they go through some sort of ritual, but I can't remember what exactly. I know Lucas made a really big deal about it in the last book, because Sashca was refusing to mate with him, thinking she was going to die, and she didn't want him to be alone the rest of his life. We do know that once they do mate, it's for life. Did you pick up on Vaughn's thinking that if Faith can't mate or refuses to mate with him, he's doomed to a life of living alone forever? To me this begs the question: What happens if a mate dies not long after mating? How would the author get around this, I wonder? As talented as she is, I'm sure she would come up with something. Lol.

13) I agree it does seem to verify what she's been told about the Psy. I don't think we've seen her full potential yet.
14) Hmmm....Maybe the term is another political maneuver aimed at making the humans and changelings more comfortable with it. Maybe to silence the negativity associated with it and blur it's true nature.
15) I totally agree
16) Exactly what I was wondering. What happened to the people in charge. Are they the puppet masters of the entire PsyNet or PsyMind?
17) I do too. :)
19)Yes I did pick that up and mark that in my book. I'm not sure if that's in this next section of reading. I was wondering if Nalini will do something like that in another book. Have a mate that won't accept the bond. Can you imagine? It'd be horrible.

20) So do you think Vaughn stopped Faith because she was getting overstimulated, she was hurting him, or what exactly do you think happened there? I reread that part and am still not quite sure.
21) So Faith has a brother. Wonder how many other siblings she might have? I wonder if later in the series we'll meet more?
22) What a terrible story about Vaughn and his family. Those darn religious cults. I just don't understand how people can lose themselves into them so extensively. I loved the advice Vaughn gave to Faith that was kind of a pay it forward type of mentality. Where help someone else so they don't go through what you did.
23) Kaleb sounds like a major threat. Wonder how he's killing all those people? Could he have something to do with the dark visions? Interesting how the vision and Kaleb were both mentioned on the same page.
24) What did you think of Faith telling the Council to find someone else to be their living bullseye? Why would they target a Psy who makes so much money for them? It was said she makes billions of dollars each year.
25) Looks like she'll pick Vaughn over the Council. If she was offered the position, however, should she accept it?
26) You were right, what a stopping place. Wonder if she'll connect to the PsyMind? Sounds interesting.
Will start today's reading a little later tonight.

21) I found this interesting about the brother as well. I kind of wonder if the father treated the brother any differently than he did Faith and her sister. I also wonder if the brother will make an appearance later on.
22) Yes, it's very sad that people do this kind of thing in the name of religion. This brought to mind the Jamestown Masssacre that took place many years ago, as well as the compound in Texas.
I too, loved how Vaughn talked to Faith about this - taking the bad and turning it into something good, to help save someone else. Those are true heroes, don't you think?
23) This makes me wonder if Kaleb is the killer. I don't know who else it could be, do you?
24) I thought Faith did a fantastic job of standing up to the Council. It does beg the question though - why would they put that target on her back. It almose makes you wonder if there isn't someone else at the top (other than Kaleb) that is trying to get rid of Faith. But then, you are right - why would they target someone who is bringing in that kind of money for them?
25) Yep, the question is will she make it out alive, before Kaleb or the darkness or the Council gets her. No she sould not take the position. She should run as fast as she can in the opposite direction - straight into the arms of Vaughn. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Get out now before it is too late. It may already be too late.
26) I will do today's reading later on this evening as well. It is a very exciting book.

27) Well, after reading this section I think you are right about Faith's brother being in this one toward the end. Supposedly the killer is an F-Psy and the guy I first suspected, Kaleb, isn't an F-Psy which makes me wonder could Marine's death been deliberate? Could the next victim be another of his sisters or perhaps another of his siblings? That would be why Faith wouldn't know her.
28) Okay here's a scary thought, could Faith foresee her own death? If she was being stalked would she know?
29) She saw his face in a reflection? I wonder if he knows she's been seeing what he's up to? Does the killer seek her out?
30) New Psy designation--Arrow. Hmmm...mysterious Psy who've been whispered about but are thought to be almost mythical. Are telepathic and trained to do all sorts of (what I'm guessing) unsavory things. I want to know more about these guys. Do you think Judd is one?
31) What did you think of the PsyMind description? Some of the descriptions remind me a little of the movie TRON where the people go inside the computers.
32) Finally Vaughn and Faith are together. Vaughn's reaction to the tying up suggestion made me laugh.
33) What did you think of Lucas telling Vaughn to just go after what he wants and Sascha's suggestion he let Faith choose? What do you think would have happened if Vaughn hadn't been distracted by the fight? Could it have changed the outcome or just left bad feelings?
34) Who are you currently thinking is the murderer? Should Sascha get that close to the killer? Do you like her plan?

28) This is a very, very good question. That would be something I would not want to know, or be able to see.
29) I really think he does seek her out because of the darkness that tries to overtake her. I think he knows who she is, and he know exactly what he is doing and to whom. Don't you find it a coincidence that he Faith is the one who seems him, and at the same time, it's him who has killed her sister. That's just too much of a coincidence for me. There has to be some connection, some reason why these two particular people were targeted since they are sister.
30) I was just going to mention Judd. I've become very fascinated with his character. Something is up with him. The way things stand right now, unless something happens to him in the next few chapters, his story is one begging to be told. I mean, really. A guy that cold, or seeming to be anyway. I think he has some feeling because I'm thinking back to the first book. But then, I could be getting him confused with the other male adult male Psy in that family. And yes, this new designation is quite interesting. Wonder what's up with that. I think I'm going to have to go back and start mapping all these different Psy things. I'm starting to get them confused. Lol. I really hope Judd turns out to be a "good" guy. I've become quite taken with him. Lol.
31) I've never seen Tron, so I can't make the comparison. I'm starting to really get them all confused.
32) I know, right?! This made me laugh too. I thought it was so funny the way he was mapping out her escape verbally in case he lost it. If I remember correctly, he told her not to even stop to put on clothes - to just get out. That was hilarious.
33) It's almost like they were telling him two different things. I think Vaughn did the right thing at just the right time. And it's a good thing Faith had made up her mind as well. Otherwise it would be really crazy right now, plus it had to come together somehow. I'm not sure about the, and had it not happened, whether or not it would have changed the outcome.
34) I don't know who it is. I just cannot put my finger on it. I think Sascha will be okay if Vaughn is with her. He won't let anything happen to her. She's the heroine, so she has to get through it. Lol.

29) I agree again.
30) I was thinking the same thing. She doesn't have anything that I know of. We need to make a Psy and a Changeling section for Family tree and another for Packs and perhaps PsyClans although at least they share a last name.
31) I haven't seen Tron in years, I just remember them going into the computer and it being like a place and that kind of reminded me of the Psy net with rooms. I can't remember if they communicated with the program or computer, I just remember them going in.
32) *SMILE*
34) Confession I read this one and the last one before and couldn't remember the outcome of either. That's the reason I decided to reread them. I read them 2 years ago. I needed a refresher. I always meant to read the rest of the series, but things kept getting in the way. I also can't believe how many of the little details I'd forgotten.

29) I agree again.

35) Okay who is the guy? I'm still confused??? Just some random guy? What was with the dark cloud? I'm just wondering this because I'm reading Nalini's Angel series too, but could someone come back to life in a non body form--could the black cloud be the Psy who was killed, Enrique, lingering around? I know crazy. Do you think we've seen the last of that darkness?
36) I was a little surprised the council tried to kill Faith.
37) What did you think of Faith's dad's proposal? Does it give his daughter the best of both worlds? Do you think he can feel? Shocker--He might just care about his children.
38) So I'm a little surprised that the Star of Webs is a baby of the PsyMind. I thought Lucas was going to have a fit over Faith talking with it.
39) What did you think of the family rule put in place? It didn't even seem like they had families/clans until we met the Nightstars.
40) Interesting that we finally see the difference between the 'before' and 'after' of Silence via the PsyMind. So my questions is where did the Psy Mind come from. Sascha I think said once that changelings, psy, and humans all came from the same place. I wonder what changed them?
41) Overall thoughts on the book?
42) Should we chug on with the next book?

36. I was surprised at this too, given that she brings in that kind of money.
37. I was very surprised by this. I don't know how I expected the author to pull it together, but I never saw the dad as part of it at the end. If nothing else, I thought he would disown her. I'm glad though that he was there. And yes, I think he really does care for his children, but has been conditioned for so long not to show it, that it's probably next to impossible for him to do so now. This was a good start though, I think. It surprised me as well, his response to Faith in regards to specific things pertaining to each of his children.
38. I was surprised by this too. I thought it very strange, and don't understand the purpose of that, but then, there were several things about this one that left me with that confused feeling.
39. See, I'm going to have to go back and check out the family rule thing because I missed that completely, or else I don't remember it. And you are correct about the Nightstars. This is the first instance we see of any type of family or clan.
40. We do get the sense at times that the Psy and Changelings communicate and a unique level, when really they should not be able to do so. So, it would make sense in a way that they all came from the same place. I wonder if later on, we will find out that there was some type of terrible war or something of that sort that caused a separation.
41. I was disappointed in the ending of this book - specifically as mentioned above, of a non-identifiable killer. We had this whole build up thing of Faith getting revenge on the person who killed her sister, yet we know not who this killer is. It made me want to throw my book against the wall.
42. I would like to take a few days to get over this aggravation, as I don't think I would be very fair to the next book right now. After that, I'm ready to move forward.

and
"I was disappointed in the ending of this book - specifically as mentioned above, of a non-identifiable killer. We had this whole build up thing of Faith getting revenge on the person who killed her sister, yet we know not who this killer is. It made me want to throw my book against the wall."
I'm not sure what I think about the ending. I guess sometimes that's the way it is in life too. You assume there has to be some rhyme or reason behind it or it just doesn't make sense. Someone shouldn't just die randomly. I must say this dark cloud had better come up again or I will be disappointed. I wonder if the cloud is the evil that the PsyMind was talking of?

So far, I really like Faith and the mystery of the darkness and her changing visions. I also really like Vaughn and how he seems determined to help Faith break from the mind control she's been subject to for her entire life. It seems to come from a place of wanting to help and not of dictating how she should live, and I like that a lot. Too often these types of characters don't seem to act out of consideration for the woman's own feelings and opinions. Here, it really does seem like he's helping to empower her by allowing her to take back some control over her own life and destiny.

Book Description:
Hailed as a major new talent in paranormal romance, Nalini Singh takes us deeper into the world of the Psy and the changelings in her latest extraordinary novel, where a gifted woman sees passion in her future - a passion that is absolutely forbidden by her kind...
Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous - aching need... exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her.
Changeling Vaughn D'Angelo can take either man or jaguar form, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar's instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating, and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith's sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced - and keep her from Vaughn...
