Nobody saw him fall through the dense November darkness.

Susan (susanthomas) Read this one a couple of years ago, so I read The Torso. I really enjoyed it and think it's a good series.

Lili | 63 comments Just finished Detective Inspector Huss, first time I'd read any of Helene Tursten's work. I really enjoyed reading it, now I'll look out for her other books.

Florence Wetzel (florencewetzel) Just got this from the library and read the first few pages. So far, so good!

Florence Wetzel (florencewetzel) I'm about 50 pages into the book and I'm really impressed. The author has a no-nonsense writing style that's a pleasure to read--for instance, the description of the lavish apartment is amazingly detailed and so visual. She also keeps the plot moving while creating full-bodied characters and throwing in some humor. And I think it's sufficiently dark to qualify as noir!

Eva | 41 comments I am still with Michael Ridpath :( (the emoticon refers to my slow progress, not to the book) but I saw the Swedish films with Irene Huss and liked them. Have you?

Haven't seen these films, but will check out if I can get them.

I love how many of these noir books have been made into films; that way when you run out of books, you can still interact with the characters!

I loved the first three of her books and read them in June..One after the other! I am sorry to have to wait for the fourth. Writing style, character development and story lines are excellent IMO. A delightful change. the Torso was chilling! Hope she writes much more. If you speak German or naturally the original language, the three films looked excellent when I saw them on ARD. I am trying to track down with English sub titles so if anyone knows more, let me know please.
