Jen (jenjm8) Hi everyone - I'm new here, I read just about anything. And I do love GoT and other scifi.
Can anyone tell me where a good place to start in the Star Wars books? I found a listing on wikipedia of the numerous series, but I don't know where I should start...anyone give any recommendations? I like to start at the beginning of a given series, but I don't know if I should start with Lost Tribe of the Sith series or somewhere else...
Thanks!!

Kim | 1499 comments For my money the best series are some of the earlier ones. The Thrawn trilogy starting with Heir to the Empire and the Jedi Academy trilogy starting with Star Wars: Jedi Search.

Traci Start with Thrawn. It's a great series. =)

Kevin Xu (kxu65) I would recommand Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. Its the book between five and six. Its one of the best. It has a villian that rivalries Darth Vader.

Kim | 1499 comments I don't know if I would recommend SotE. It was made strictly for commercial use. When it was released they also released a video game, comic, soundtrack and toy range for it. The story isn't very original, Dash is just a different version of Han, Xizor as a Jabba/Darth Vader combination.

Jen (jenjm8) thanks for the recommendations, they're much appreciated.

Trike Every Star Wars book I've read other than Alan Dean Foster's Star Wars: Splinter of the Mind's Eye (which was written between the release of Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back) I have disliked.

The Thrawn trilogy is supposed to be good, but I haven't read it other than the excerpts on Amazon.
