I'm mostly reading the ones that I don't think are too terribly deep. I'd like to save those for when I'm out of highschool, and able to actually comprehend their meanings(:
Except for Austen. I hope I die before I get to that part of the list. Eeew.

edited: just realised I have read 79, not 73. Missed a few on the list.
With both lists, 101.

I see you list Tolkien as a favorite author. Are you saying you've never read The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings? Both are on the list.
Welcome to the list/group!

No, I've never read them. They are on my to-read list though. Actually I cheated, I listed him as a favourite author because I like the Lord of the Rings movies so much. But when I have read the books, I can really say he's a favourite author. :P

Most I've read for school, but several on my own. I own but have not read several others (I own 382 books that I have not read). I just started reading Don Quixote by Cervantes a few weeks ago.
This should keep me busy for a while

I'd say, of the few I've read, probably my favorite was one many of you have likely not read, Nervous Conditions. It's set in Africa during colonialism and follows a young girl getting an education that was previously unavailable to her. I remember my favorite part was when she is shown a university library and wonders how she will ever be able to read all those books. Appropriate, I think. :)

So many books, so little time.....

1. Less than Zero - Bret Easton Ellis
2. The Name of the Rose - Umberto Eco
3. The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien
4. Dracula - Bram Stoker
5. The Count of Monte Christo - Alexandre Dumas
6. Northanger Abby - Jane Austen
7. Persuasion - Jane Austen
8. Mansfield Park - Jane Austen
9. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
10. Aesops Fables - Aesop
I know it's not a lot, but I'm planning on reading many, many, many of the books on the list.
I love the list :D
49 overall, if i count the one i've NEARLY finished (the tin drum)...on to breakfast at tiffany's!
