I was surprised too when I discovered this list a few years ago. I am at 112 books and I have been reading avidly since third grade and I am now 69. However I have now read a few books I wouldn't have otherwise.

I haven't heard of this list before, but couldn't resist checking it out. I've read just over 100 of the books, there are another 20 or so that I think I might have read, but I'm not sure. I definitely read Toni Morrison's Beloved, but did I read Song of Solomon? I can't promise to only read from the list this year, but I'll definitely try to tick a few more off,

I've read about 140 books on the list so far. I just started collecting the books last year and have been trying to read them when I have time. So many seem so outdated and are boring or hard to get through. I have found some gems out there as well, so I'll keep trying as long as there are books under 5-600 pages for me to read ;) (I feel like there is no way I'll ever get to a 1200 page book ... )

I've read 101, but I only get a few done every year because I trade books with my sister and mom and am in 2 book clubs, so I don't always get to pick the books. I've listened to some of the longer ones like War & Peace because I knew it would be a struggle to read it. I've found that's the best way to still check those off the list for me.

I'm at 130 now. I had to go back through the entire list and recount after I found a spreadsheet I could download. I also finished Far from the Madding Crowd and Like Water for Chocolate in the last few weeks.
