I need to cross check List Challenges with Goodreads. I was using the book app and lost my stats. According to them, I’m at 181.

Clarissa
Camilla
The Forsyte Saga
Phineas Finn and the whole Palliser series
I want to wrap up Proust (4) this year, finish Trollope (1), and more chunksters.

Sarah, you should try the link below. Then, as long as you mark a book read and put it on a chosen shelf, you don't have to worry about keeping a list.

 FYI...
FYI...Multi-part books will throw off the count when referencing a Goodreads shelf.
e.g., Tolkien, Proust, etc.
I just finished Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. That brings me up to 90. I am hoping to reach 100 by years end.

That's why I didn't start a shelf for this challenge, I'd never get the exact number of entries to match the books and it'd drive me insane.
Instead I just refer to this list:

well I read about 13% of the list. Not too shabby. Now that I am retired I hope to finish the list in a few years. Lots more to read.

If you count the books in all editions of the list (1316), I think you have over 1,100 remaining. That will probably take more than a few years unless you can read one a day. If you just work from one edition (1001) that reduces it about a quarter. Enjoy your reading!
I'm now at 325 (from all editions); reading five more now, will finish one tomorrow. I read 42 last year which I'm pretty sure is my most in a calendar year. I guess at this rate it will take me about 25 more years to read them all! If I read half of them I'll be proud.

George P. wrote: "I guess at this rate it will take me about 25 more years to read them all!..."You got me wondering--it's only in the last few years that I've really thought much about reading from the list. The last three years have been 35, 35, and 37. If I keep reading 35 list books a year, I'll be done in thirty years
!
I too will never read all titles but I am committed to reading at least one title per author (barring those cases in which the books seem to be borderline impossible to at all locate). That way I will have 'sampled' the list, so to speak, in a more or less thorough manner even without reading every single book therein.

Still, it leaves a lot of books to read and it is more a rule of thumb than anything else. Plenty of my favorite authors are contemplated and I want to read their complete works. Also, I will read all of the books in my native language as well the Japanese and Chinese ones.
I am also giving priority to women authors and LGBTQ themes.

I read 65 book at the moment and my progression in the list is very slow. I target at least 67 for 2020 (yes I said I was really slow ;))

442 - that was a great Oldsmobile, also hard to believe I've read/listened to that many books while getting through even more not on this list.

As of the 2018 edition, there are 767 different authors in all editions, by my count. Can anyone confirm that?
Reason I'm asking is that I'm approaching a certain fraction of that number.

I am currently compiling a list of authors, based on the totals as compiled by another user. I just reached 'G' so there is still a way to go, will let you know what the final number is (and share the file with you, if you'd like).
EDIT: I have 771 authors.

Thanks, so I was very close. I just need one more than I thought to reach the "milestone"; should have it in 2 or 3 weeks. Will let you know.

You all are going to send me down the rabbit hole of counting how many individual authors I've read, aren't you?

Can't vouch for its covering every single author but I tried my best to account for them all, all 771 of them.

In this thread readers generally say how many they've read that are on any/all editions, but you could also say how many you've read from a particular edition. For me, the percentage I've read is highest from the original 2006 edition.
