How many of the 1001 books have you read?
301 so far and another 3 on my TBR short list. I've read 5 this year.

When I first started tracking how many of each century I had read I had no pre1700s either! Have made two now, with only one left to make 10% Yay for small sections!
I found it really interesting to see what areas I had read the most from. Plus with such a large list it gives me smaller challenges within the list to work on!

From the compiled list (all three editions) I just hit 89. Decided to post as that has always been a favorite number!
@Tanya: Another goal could be 10% from each country.
I just hit 163, but the vast majority of those were read way before I ever knew about the list. I went through a "nothing but 19th century classics" phase in my late teens.
I've only read 85 from the combined list (and no more than 80 on any of the three separate lists) and I hope to get more read this summer. I also love the idea that Tanya has about reading 10% from each century. I'll have to figure out my percentages.

Have to find out if Taebek mountains has been translated into English yet.

I think I just counted 83 of them that I've read. I imported the entire 2010 list (yikes!) yesterday afternoon and my TBR shelf is now giving me the horrors. Not quite sure why I did that, as there's no way in the world I'm actually going to read them all, but oh well!

You know you won't really get it all, but the dream of being able to read them all is what keeps us going :)

I have read 713 on thee combined list. I started on about 130 3 1/2 years ago. I have focussed on the short books but have done several of the longer ones too.

I've read 115 from the combined list, 97 from the 2010 list, and 95 from the core list. My goal is to read at least one book per author from the core list, though I reserve the right to stop reading any book I just don't like. Life is too short and my list is too long!
Only 38 for me; guess I better get cracking.
I have read 53 but made a goal this year to read 50 so will get over the 100 mark, but think some I read in high school need to be re read since it was so long ago and before I cared about reading classics.
29 from the 2010 list, but 39 if all the lists are added together.
Up to 90 for all 3 lists. I think that my goal will be to get to 1001 of the 1294-ish that make up all three versions. Anything after that will be bonus and it lets me avoid the issue of Taebaek Mountains!

I don't believe I'll ever read them all, but I'll start doing the best I can to read a bunch of them!
I read a lot of books that are not on the list, so I'll not be stressing about it.
I've read about 13 books off the newest book. Not as impressive as you guys.

Don't worry too much Mariana. I read some of the books on the list, but have created my own list of books I really want to read. Then I discuss the ones that are on this forum or on other forums ... :) You're still young, you have many years of reading. I get a bit nervous when I look at my "to read" list. :)
Hi. Until now, I read only 16 books of the list, there is many I want to read and hopefully I will read some of them soon =)
I've read 137 from the original 2006 list, and fewer from the 2008 & 2010 lists (Like Chel, my total dropped by about 20 from the original list). I'm focusing on the core list - books that are on all three lists, and have read 112 of those.

You're awesome, and I am impressed, especially cuz you are trying to expand your reading. I wish I had a list like this to work on when I was your age.
Well, without trying (just found this list last week), I have read 105 books off the latest version. I don't have the patience to go through all the versions to see if my counts change, though! I am more interested in using the list as a guide when I'm looking for a good read, and participating in some good discussions. Has anybody completed the list?
I'm at 187 of original book list. But, I'm 48 so I need to get reading!
I have read 33 books from all 3 lists. I'm sure that I won't be done ever, 'cause I read other books as well. And they haven't translated all books to my mother tongue so that stops me some point..

Starting Junky by Burroughs this morning brings me up to 201 off the combined list.
I've read 132 of the original 2006 list; with the 2008 update I picked up 4, but 19 of the original titles that I'd read were dropped. I haven't read any of the 2010 additions, and I haven't figured out yet which titles got dropped, so all I can say is that I've read 136 of the 1,294 titles that have been on the list at any point.I have been slowly updating my GR shelves, so though all 136 aren't yet on my shelves, someday I hope they will be.
