Jai I adore this series!

Estelle (E) I'm reading it and liking it a lot.
However, i was told to read the Night Huntress after the Fever series, I did and loved it

(as for me, nothing can top Fever anyway..)

melody I read night huntress books before fever series..but fever is my top fav nw..(wish they release the remaining two books soon) Got the first book moon called...will be starting it soon....

Estelle (E) Then I bet you'll like it too!
:-)

Fernanda Bomtempo-Marzo I haven't read the Fever series but I real all the Mercy books and the series imo is great!

Jjab I enjoyed this series alot. The alpha omega books that tie into it are pretty good also.

Georgiana Patricia Briggs is very, very talented. I recently re-read some of these and was struck again by how good they really are. And the Alpha and Omega books are great too. Enjoy.

Vonetta Great series! Wolf shifters, fey, vampires....what more can you ask for!

Heather Love this series, Mercy is independent without being annoying and I love the surrounding characters too

loved the series..all books good except i did not like the last one River Marked

Sheena One of my favorite series. I have a hard time finding books that are equal. I haven't heard of the fever series. Will have to look into them.

Bluegravity This is a good series, no doubt about it. I strongly believe that if you like the idea of shifters and neighborhood rivalry, magical items, and hollows; read this book series.

Mark I loved the Fever series, and I also love thee Mercy Thompson series, definately worth reading, you won't be disapointed.

message 15: by Liz (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liz Just buy the entire set cause this is an awesome series! :-)

message 16: by Gerd (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gerd I enjoy the series a lot, but didn't read the fever series (by Karen Marie Moning?), so I can't compare them. I do think that Patricia has a greater feel of realism to her characters than I found with the "Kitty" series for example and her writing as a better flow in my opinion.

Patricia does a nice steady character/relationship development, and besides some darker topics the series generally stays on the lighter side.
It's a Urban Fantasy series, with a focus on Vampires, Weres and Fae - some roots in European folklore/fairy tales there - as well as friendship and family; cosy reads.

If you look for something with a stronger romance vibe you might like her Alpha and Omega (Cry Wolf) books better.

Ivy G. Great books. You should totally try it.

message 18: by Judi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Judi Easley Read the series and all associated books and cheer on the whole family! They're all great fun without being shallow, and yet they don't take themselves too seriously either!

Moonlight I loved Mercedes Thompson and the Alpha and Omega series. I highly recommend them. After I read them, I recommended them to by late teens niece who also loved them.

u shud read that series....its really great...
im comparing every book i read with that series...and its really hard to find the books that beat fever...

melody thnks guys..love the series a lot....i finished all books except the last one..but im gonna finish it by this weekend...sorry for my late reply...got busy with my xams...what u gonna read this weekend??

p.s: i wish there was more diologues and scenes btw adam and mercy....

Jeanette I absolutely love this series. I can't wait for the next installment.

Madbabs This series was so great, it made me go check out her earlier fantasy work too. And fantasy has to be pretty great for me to want to go there, but they were great - every last one. One of her best writing gifts is a strong feel for the details of what connects people to each other. Well, that and pure story telling.

Tiffany Considering its genre compared to other books, this one is one of the much lower rankings. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone ever. It was so repetitive and annoying halfway though the first book.

I read the whole series but the last one as well.. I can't say bye yet.. I'm reading a whole series in between!

Amber I loved Mooncalled. I have yet to read the other books in the series. If they are as good as Mooncalled then definitely the series is good enough!!! :D

Sarah I just read Moon Called and really enjoyed it! I read the Alpha & Omega series before and I love them, I read them like a billion times. I can't wait to read the rest of the Mercy books, hope they live up to my expectations.

message 28: by Denise (last edited Aug 29, 2012 10:30AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Denise I tried this book and thought it was okay. I'm not really the right demographic for it. If you are late teens to early twenties and enjoy quick read, lightweight, entertainment, this will probably be a good series for you.

Missyb It's a good entertaining series. If you like Indian legends you'll really like this, they play a role. Some books are better then the others, and some are more about the vampires, and some are more about the fae. Mercy is a coyote, and the wolfs (Adam is the local alpha) also play a major role throughout the series. The fae in this series are interesting, even the "good" ones can be bad at times.

Cindyg I loved this series. Highly recommend it.

Chelsea So good. So so so so so very good. Probably my favorite series to date that isn't Hunger Games. I heart Adam so much I kinda wanna snuggle him, and Mercy is just so very awesome it's unreal.

message 32: by Kat (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kat I've read all the books in the series so far and haven't felt let down by any of them, in fact I've been on tenterhook's waiting for the next one to come out if you like your female characters strong but feminine, sassy, independent, and funny and your male leads strong brooding, sexy, funny, caring, ruthless and that's just before they have their morning coffee you will love this series. The kitty Knoxville series is also very very good but very different. I highly recommend both if your interested in shifter books.

Annie I have read number 1, and am dying to read #2....so I will say I think it is worth it!!!

Alice Both Mercy & Alpha Omega are worth your time. ButI have to admit that I don't think I'll ever re-read Mercy.

Jacey Yes this is a fabulous series. Mercy is a great heroine, a coyote shapechanger raised by werewolves. She's supremely loyal to her friends, which costs her on occasions, but works well for plot purposes. There are werewolves, vampires, fey and Volkswagons - what more could you ask for? The world-building is brilliant. You _know_ there's a lot more going on than Briggs puts on the page (and, indeed, you can see more of that in the Alpha and Omega books). The romance is a slow burn over several books, but there are real reasons for that and it's well worth the wait. Patricia Briggs is my second favourite writer after Lois McMaster Bujold, and that's high praise.

Jennifer One of the best werewolf series out there. Briggs really tries to understand wolf behaviour and a lot of the interaction between Mercy and Adam and his wolves recognizes animal behaviour. It's really amazingly written.
Check out Alpha&Omega as well. Can't beat Charles as an Alpha.

I do like Adam, but, agreed, Charles is a great character. I just read the new Alpha and Omega. Excellent.

Michielle I prefer Charles over Adam. I also think it is best to read the 2 series in order and in relation with each other.

Cyl I've read all of Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series. I just love the books. The newest book on Mercy won't be out till 2013 so you have lots of time to read the other books in the series. I love Adam and how he protects Mercy. She doesn't always appreciate that either. ;-)

message 40: by Jacey (last edited Sep 10, 2012 05:43AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jacey Agreed I like the Adam/Mercy dynamic. She's definitely not the damsel in distress type even though she does sometimes need saving from herself. IIRC she's done a fair amount of saving herself - in many different ways.

Annie I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! Its smartly written, and interesting...and you will fall in love with Mercy!

Alexandra This is an excellent series, but "Moon Called" is not a good place to start; the characters all have a well-established history by this point.
Patricia Briggs' characters all have far greater depth than is usual in the urban fantasy genre.

If, however, you tried the Mercy Thompson sequence and found it lightweight, may I suggest you try the "Alpha and Omega" sequence, which is even grittier.

Leanne Lerma Mercy is certainly worth the read. Good story nice character development. My only criticism is that by the third book it feels like the author is being required to add a gratuitous sex scene in each book...I find them highly disappointing...would be much more romantic if we knew what was about to happen rather than to be dragged along for the ride...besides....puts it in the "can't read until your 18" list for my teen daughter...who would absolutely love the books.

Briseis it's absolutely worth the read.i really liked the mercy series, and it got better along the way.i loved alpha&omega though.i have re-read those.
i like the fact that her characters aren't this ninny fantasy about shapeshifters or vampire fandom that is abundant nowadays.and i love the way she pens relationships between male and female.with accents on support and love and attention and working on things, etc.
i like all her series that i've read.u can also check out hurog.

Diane One of my favorite series. Vampires and Shifters. With romance thrown in.

David Haywood Young Yes. The books are awesome.

Cindyg Definitely great reads.

Nika Amazing! It was my intro into PNR and love every book! Can't wait for the new one in March. Another amazing series I just found a couple of months ago and has quickly become my favorite is Elemental Mysteries by Elizabeth Hunter.

Millie Awesome book! Loved it! Need to get the others!

Tereza I've read just "Moon called" but it was amazing..
