add word count for ebooks?

You didn't miss it - they don't have such a feature (at least not yet.)I would be nice if we could enter word count, considering page numbers don't exactly matter with ebooks.
I don't see the problem with a page count, somehow... I took one of my classified ebooks by chance and there is a page count. My reader also puts the same page numbers even for different font sizes. I know that ebook page numbers often differ from the printed version, but honestly this is something I don't care about. (and I have not yet found a feature on my reader which give me a word count instead - must've missed that one...)
it depends on whether they associate the page count back to a print version (if available) or if the page count is inputted based on the number of pages someone counts on their device (which can range widely) - I saw a 250 page book, that had 680 pages listed on the ebook version
OK, this might be something that really depends on the reader. The Sony just displays the page numbering.
Smashwords only list an "approximate" word count. Which other publishers list a word count of any type?
There are no current plans to add additional fields to the book/show and book edit pages. The description field is a perfectly fine place to include word count, when it is known.
I would like to see word count in the description field for ebooks, and as a GR volunteer librarian I would be willing to add it there on behalf of folks who are not librarians. (And this despite the fact that I very seldom read ebooks! :)

Is it a feature not (yet) implemented or did I simply miss it?
