I'm not usually into 1st person POV, but I this series is very good from what I've read. There's a lot of deapan humor in it.

[bookcover:Second Grave on the Lef..."YES!
Wow Jenne... if it's right under Fever then I have to get my hands on it... going to download it now :)YAY!
They really are great if the first one seems strange to you please don't give it up yet. I personally liked the first one but I know a lot of other people weren't sure about it. Then when they read the others they were in love with it!
One of my favorite PNRs is the Savannah Coven Series. A wonderful sisterhood mixed with magic and romance. It gets better with each book!
The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Similar, in some respects, to the Mercy Thompson series (Moon Called is the first there): not overloaded with sex, the relationship develops gradually over several books, but good action and kick-ass h (not just the H) who can actually take care of herself and is NOT TSTL.Dante Valentine and Jill Kismet series by Lilith Saintcrow for the same reason. Love the way this woman tells a story. No leaps in logic (i.e., logic doesn't fly out the window just because it's a female that's thinking), just a nice, tight story.
1st person narrative...how about the first book of a new series...Urban Fantasy with Romance and a Paranormal twist: I Hope You Find Me
:)
This series is one of my faves....great romance and I laughed out loud many times :) There are 6 books so far and a couple spin off series
The only romance I get are from books. Haven't dated in two years. TMI! LOL! I can't wait to read them. Thank you so much.
I totally agree with the Kate Daniels series, They are kinda a quick read but are really good. Another one is laurell k hamilton. Her Anita Blake series is really good and there are tons of books. also there is her Merry Gentry series which isn't as dark but is really good too.
I started the Anita Blake series, got a few books in and I just couldn't read anymore.. Maybe in a few years I'll try again. I decided on 50 Shades of Grey lol, almost done them.. SO I'm going to Re-Read The Hobbit.. Then look on here and get some books from all of these great suggestions.

. And if you like YA
is good (and it was on sale for $.99 on Kindle recently).
I absolutely LOVE everything written by Jeaniene Frost. If I had a 4 hour trip, I'd definitely look for Halfway to the Grave. After that series, check out her spin off series... first, First Drop of Crimson and after those, get Once Burned. Her books are made of awesome!
New Books...Well, you can't go wrong with Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series, or Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles. They are both fabulous!
If you like Night Huntress, then I recommend Ilona Andrews' books. The Kate Daniels series is written in first person narrative.Magic Bites is the first book.
Her other series is also great, though third person narrative.
On The Edge is the first book. :)
Pleasure Unbound I just finished these two related series .. around 8 books or so in under 2 weeks. So I highly recommed it. Especially if you stick through the first book.. they're *really* good.
I loved the Sookie Stackhouse series. Other series that i like are:Vampire Academy, The Darkness Rising, The black dagger brotherhood and argenau is veryyy sexy and funny, a lot like The black dagger brotherhood. Good luck :)
I have a trilogy i just bought...kindle ebooksThe Fallen Star trilogy by Jessica Sorensen.
She's a self published writer, you can find her on amazon. OR if you have a kindle or ereader, just shoot me a message and i will lend my ebooks to you :D YAY free books :D
Tegan's Blood and Tegan's Return by L.H. Cosway are fast-paced and enjoyable reads. They're told in the first person, present tense.Highly entertaining.
Any of Molly Harper's are hilarious. You might also check goodreads events for wherever you are going in case there are any book signings (ditto for event pages on websites of whatever bookstores are there).I like Molly's books but definitely chick lit, lighter side of PNR vs gritty urban fantasy.
If you like Science Fiction you can't go past Lois Mcmaster Bujoid. There is a bit of romance, but mainly a really good story set in the future. If you want romantic SF I go for Cathrine Azaro. She is really terrific. For vampires I enjoyed the black dagger brotherhood. It was weird but she doesn't ever use an exclaimation mark - not once. I got used to it, but still missed exclaimation marks! (see?) Heh.
The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series is really good and fast to read. I have not been able to put the books down.
There are 11 books total but they are easy and fast to read. For those of us that like the romance and the supernatural, they are very good.

Ive just been on holiday and started reading these books there amazing couldn't put the kindle down i highly recommend it!!
If you like fantasy with a little hint of romance then these books nice quick reads.MasquesWolfsbanethe mercedes thompson series is really good by the same author! this is the first book.Moon Called

I know I'm late to this thread, but have you read Jeanne Stein? She writes the Anna Strong series, all in first person, present tense. Very well done (one or two of her books have been on the NYTimes lists... Here is one of them:
The Becoming (darn it, how do you get the cover there? Trying again...)
Oh I love this ! doesn't matter how late you are aha. I'm always traveling and I read a book in a few hours so I need all I can get... I will deff look into the Jeanne Stein.
Well, you'll have to tell me what you think of Stein, Teraa. The series isn't romance, it's UF, but it's good.
I just finished A Discovery of Witches and it had a Fever feeling. Very slow moving romance, lots of stormy undercurrents yet to be reveiled and tension galore. The second in the trilogy came out recently but I haven't read it yet so I'm not sure where it will go.
