Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I just finished KMM's FaeFever. All I can say is "Oh my God..I can't believe she just ended the book like that...this is pure torture waiting for the next installment....Aargh!" *pulls hair in frustration*

Started Shayla Black's Wicked Ties. Maybe some hot, steamy story will cool down my frustration...LOL

message 102: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments Yz: I KNOW!!!!!! I think I sat there, when I finished reading that book, with my mouth hanging open and then wondering how I was going to wait until August 2009 to see what happens next!!!!! I still think about that book almost every day. I can only hope it stays with me until the next book!

message 103: by Jess (new)

Jess I just started Bloodfever, and I have Faefever ready to read right after I'm done. I don't know who I like more.. Barrons or V'lane.

message 104: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Melissa,

I love the book..I listened to it in audiobook so it was pretty dramatic...and I have heard from others that it ended in a cliffhanger..but I didn't realize how much of a cliffhanger...

So many questions...and that ending...*can't stop thinking about*

message 105: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Jess,

I don't think that decision will get easier even when you are done with FaeFever. These men are just too mysterious....Now, I cannot wait for the next book.

message 106: by Jess (new)

Jess Yz - that's okay... I can deal with liking them both lol!

I just bought the rest of Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. Apparently there is a prequel to. The Darkest Fire.

Can't wait to finish that series. :)

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Well that sucks about Faefever another cliffhanger but look at it this way 3 books down 2 to go. The anwsers will be coming soon. I just wish there was some action. I hate sexual tension that just goes on and on and on through multiple books especially when Mac is surrounded by Barrons and Vlane. I don't think I could not be sexing one of them.

message 108: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) I finally started Outlander last night. I have been putting off this huge book for weeks now and wasn't sure I was going to like it. It took a few chapters but man do I love this book now. It doesn't fit neatly into any one genre. It's historical, time travel, romance and a little paranormal thrown in for good measure. I read 100 pages last night and will have to keep up that pace, since it's 627 pages long, if I'm going to finish it and one more book by the end of January.

message 109: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 367 comments I had to start the Darkyn series by Lynn Viehl with book two, Private Demon, because my library doesn't own book one yet. It is not what I expected, but I am enjoying it.

I'm also listening to Cold Truth by Mariah Stewart. I really like it and am at the halfway point.

message 110: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Just started A Kiss of Shadows. Yay, a super short heroine! Merry is my height exactly (5'0). Don't come across that very often.
Though she wears big heels to make her legs look longer, and I've decided that wearing flats shows my confidence.:)

message 111: by Jess (new)

Jess I wish I could wear heels.. my 5'7 in heels becomes closer to 5'9 or 5'10.. too tall for me!

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Sarah wrote: "I had to start the Darkyn series by Lynn Viehl with book two, Private Demon, because my library doesn't own book one yet. It is not what I expected, but I am enjoying it.

Yeah Viehl is Darker PNR I love her.

message 113: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Nichole - I'm only 5 foot as well and don't mind it one bit. It's a great way to meet guys in the grocery store when you can't reach a higher shelf LOL.

message 114: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments LOL..I'm 5 ft tall, too...and I've used that trick at the grocery store..too..LOL..

message 115: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) lol... I usually just wait til no one's looking and then pull one of the bulk boxes off the shelf to use as a stool. Usually the thing on the top shelf is some type of junk food that I shouldn't be buying in the first place.

message 116: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyhill) HI All... right now I'm reading If Angels Burn by Lynn Viehl. It's not bad, good story, but weak in the steamy dept. And Chosen by P.C. Cast. It's a pretty good series considering it's Y/A. I just received Dark Elves by Jet Mykles, so I may bypass everything else and read those.

message 117: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Wendy, I've read all but the latest of the Dark Elves series. I love them. They are definitely erotica but you know that already right?

message 118: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyhill) Lori wrote: "Wendy, I've read all but the latest of the Dark Elves series. I love them. They are definitely erotica but you know that already right?"

Lori, yeah, a friend and myself checked out the website and these we just drawings, not pictures of real people and all we could say was Dammmmmmmmm. *fans self*

message 119: by Lori (last edited Jan 23, 2009 12:25PM) (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Oh yea, Jet's renderings are amazing. I bought the e-book version of the series just for the pictures :) They are HOT elves and soooo sexy. Here's an example for those of you not familiar the the Dark Elves... ***Warning...this is very graphic with full frontal nudity***

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Ok I think I need to add some Dark Elves to my TBR.

Sarah: Do you want to swap? I have Bk 1. I am reading it now hoping to finish by FEB., lol. Let me know. PM me.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Lori: I found some videos that fea. elves. They are sampling/selling these woman. They were rendered like Jet Mykles' drawings but I don't think they were her Dark Elves. Does she have other types of elves in her stories?

message 123: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 367 comments Kenjii wrote: Sarah: Do you want to swap?

The library just got a copy in, and I'm next on the reserve list. Thanks, though!

message 124: by new_user (new)

new_user I think Jet Mykles writes mostly m/m, right?

Oh, and Wendy, the Darkyn series is different in the next books. Actually, that's the case with a lot of series, LOL. But there's more romance in the next books, imo.

message 125: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Ooh did somebody mention Jet Mykles? Aren't her Dark Elves fantastic! I read one (ok, maybe heaps) of hers with the illustrations and I think - well lots of things but mostly WOW in caps. I sit on the bus with my blackberry and read her ebooks. It's such a guilty pleasure - if ppl on the bus only knew...

message 126: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments And I meant to say that currently I'm reading Kay Hooper's 'Blood Sins'. Yay me =)

"

Oh good, hehe.

message 128: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Kenjii - No she just has the Dark Elves as far as I know.

New_User - She writes a mix. Her Heaven Sent series is all m/m except the book she's writing now will feature m/m/f. She also has another book One for the Team that is a girl and 4 boys. I haven't read that yet but it's on my list! The Dark Elves is mostly m/f, m/f/m with a few m/m scenes but it's mostly m/f.

Go to her website http://www.jetmykles.com/ and click on "freebies" for a sample of her stuff. It's very hot!

message 129: by Jess (new)

Jess Currently reading The Darkest Pleasure.. and soon will be reading Pride by Rachel Vincent (it was released early by me)

message 130: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments I went and requested The Darkest Pleasure from the library and when it came in I realised I'd already read it as part of an e-bundle of Showalter's books *sigh* For someone who can read books I suck at reading book descriptions in a catalogue. D'OH. Starting on Zen and the Art of Vampires by Katie MacAlister. Grabbed it because the female character is approaching her fortieth birthday - I'm 33 and I'm tired of reading books featuring 23 yr olds LOL

message 131: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Currently in the middle of Shayla Black's Wicked Ties. Boy, this book is steamy, and though I'm not into the d/s lifestyle, this book makes it intriguing and tasty. I have to admit the plot seemed contrived though, but the characters and the sex scenes are well-written. I'm enjoying it though.

Also started listening on audiobooks, Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts, 1st book in her Islands of Three Sisters trilogy. Sometimes, after reading too many PNR books, its nice to have a nice, decent guy as the hero.

message 132: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Aahh the local Sheriff, yes? Very nice! I must admit, it's also nice to read a book that doesn't have multiple partners. I enjoy the multiple partners thing in context but sometimes I get tired trying to visualise where the all the different body parts go and who's doing what to whom and how on earth that position can work and how can one of those guys not feel left out...the mental gymnastics make me tired not hot and bothered LOL

message 133: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Yes..the local sheriff..quite dreamy..in a regular guy way...LOL..i know what you mean about the sometimes exotic stories...i like some menage action, but sometimes i hate it, when somebody gets left out in the cold at the end..

message 134: by new_user (new)

new_user Yeah, the novelty of menage definitely wears off, LOL.

Thanks for the tip, Lori. :)

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments I am going to through a multiple problem myself. I have to many books going and they are ALL good! It's usually 1 or 2 that I set aside and go to here and there but THE HUNTED THE DARKEST KISS and my fave m/m romances in e-books. I am sunk!

I got Beautiful C*cksucker by Barbara Sheridan for my free e-book from Noble romance. It is only 44 pgs, it's a prequel. So I figured I could read that quickly.

message 136: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Kenjii, I find I'm reading more since I joined this group - you ladies sure do keep a body busy! I cruise your bookshelves and find more stuff and I just want it, need it, gotta have it. Geez. Have temporarily put down Zen and the Art of Vampires to read a few more chapters of Simply Irresistible by Mary Balogh. Think I'm going through the motions of reading it because I've read the others in the series. Maybe I need to stop thinking about why I'm reading it and just read it. D'OH.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Tosca: It is hard to focus, for me. So I always am cruising GR then reading a bit. I read several chapters from all my multiple books, a day. But the testament is when we post our 10 or more books read. So that is saying something right?

I just reviewed Beautiful C*cksucker. Though the title is strange to say the least the story was beautifully told. A m/m romance w/ some BDSM.

message 138: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments I read the excerpt to your above title and was quite intrigued by it. Maybe when I make some headway with my current stack (yeah, right, methinks the pile gets bigger not smaller) I may just try it. I read one of Morgan Hawke's Interstellar Service & Discipline ebooks the other day. Wow - as if all the sex at the drop of a hat wasn't enough there was also the sci-fi angle and on top of that there were the Skeldhi men who come 'double-equipped' so to speak. I kid you not - they certainly give new meaning to the term menage!

message 139: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Finished Shayla Black's Wicked Ties this morning. Boy, that book is pretty steamy. Plot is a little weak in my opinion, but the characters are so real, they make the pages burned red-hot.

message 140: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments I'm almost half way through House of Cards and it's going by fast. So much going on! All the key players are back in this second book and I'm finding it hard to do the things I'm supposed to do because I just want to read!

message 141: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) tosca - Victorious Star Interstellar Service & Discipline 1 is one of my all time favorite books. I love Sci-Fi and erotica so it was the best of both worlds for me.

message 142: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyfraser65) | 772 comments I'm just finishing up Riptide by Catherine Coulter. I didn't get much reading in yesterday as I was too busy cruisin GR! Having a reading day today (I hope).

Wicked Ties is in my top 5 fave romantica. Whenever I think of others I have read since then I still can't think of other love scenes that that better compliment the characters situation. But your right Yz, the plot was so/so. This is a series I believe and I want to read the next book.

message 144: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (last edited Jan 25, 2009 03:41PM) (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Kenjii,

Despite the weak plot, I like Wicked Ties. I think its pretty well-written, and I love Jack and Morgan's relationship. Even I don't have any real-life interest in D/s, this book was so hot, it makes my imagination wander...LOL

I have the second book, Decadent, for a long time (Deke's story) but i didn't want to read it first before I finished Wicked Ties.

message 145: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Lori wrote: "tosca - [b:Victorious Star Interstellar Service & Discipline 1|237020|Victorious Star Interstellar Service & Discipline 1|Morgan Hawke|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1215......"

I discovered it by accident (maybe it was fate lol) and quickly purchased some of the others. Was even more pleased to find that there was actually a plot in amongst all the sex. Reading sex for sex sake is nice (heck, I'm not going to complain about that) but it was even better to find a good plot. And the double-equipped skeldhi don't hurt either :D

message 146: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Hi Kenjii & Yz, I read Shayla Black's 'Decadent' last month and never bothered to find out if there was another before or after it. D'OH - so thank you for that info! I'm off to hunt it down :o)

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Yz: Yes. I am one that was read a lot (well, I consider it a lot when compared to my other romantica reading) of D/s themed romantica w/o a real interest in it outside of fiction.

Wicked Ties is one hot read for sure =)

message 148: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Tosca,

There is supposed to be a third book which is supposed to be Luc and Alyssa, titled Delicious. I don't think it has been released yet.

message 149: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Just finished Outlander and am starting Dark Prince which is the 9th and final book for the PNR January challenge. I loved Oulander. I got a little bored towards the end but it finished strong and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Tosca, I have the second story, Fortune's Star, which is in the anthology Hard Candy. I'm going to read that tonight before I start Dark Prince. The third one, Fallen Star Interstellar Service & Discipline 2, I guess is still only in e-book format but that's part of my February challenge so I guess I'll be reading it that way. Have you read both of these? Are there anymore?

message 150: by tosca (new)

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Hi de hi Lori :D Umm from meory I've read Victorious Star and Fallen Star. I'm ashamed to say I have not yet read the anthology Hard Candy (although I hope to when I stop being so lazy hah). Have just had a quick check around online and they seem to be the only ones in that particular series. At least so far - but I could be horribly wrong :-) I've read some of her other stuff as well as Jaid Black and Angela Knight (one led me to the other which led me to the other - you know how it goes lol).
