I don't know. I don't see any errors or evidence that it is trying to load something. I also thought it was odd that when I went to Amazon I could see it on the search result page but when I clicked on it to go to the book detail then I couldn't see it there either but the links would show if I moused over the image area. very odd...

I didn't see it posted here, but I could have missed it in the shuffle...

Can we (as librarians) add book covers for those that don't have them if we: own the book, cannot find the covers elsewhere, and thus take our own photo for use?

Or is that in violation of any copyright / goodreads policies?

Which shelves do you mean? Where? At books?

The shelves books are shelved on are named by members, and we can name our shelves anything we want, so, no, we don't want to delete/combine any shelves.

Shelves are named by individual readers and cannot be combined or edited by librarians. Believe me, I would love to do it beacuse the rankings of shelves by topic would be drastically different if consistent names were used. My best example is shelves holding science fiction books - there are shelves for sci fi, scifi, science fiction, read science fiction, etc...
But again, this falls into the realm of folks having the ability to name their shelves whatever they want, including using the spelling normal to them (favorites/favourites or humor/humour for example.

The empty shelves, likewise, cannot be deleted by librarians, perhaps an Administrator could, but it still remains that individual users have set up those shelves, so we may not want to suggest deleting them.

Your willingness to work on such tasks is wonderful though! There are always things needing to be done on the Sisyphus' List . = )

You need to go the book page for each book and click the "edit" link in the top of the book information section.

Once in that page on the top right hand side is a section to upload an image. You have to have the images stored on your laptop to upload. Click the browse button, navigate to where the images are stored, select the image and save.
