Jane (PS) | 24343 comments Welcome to the group Jackie M and Makenzie :)

Jackie - I was always trying to sneak Harlequin and Mills & Boon into my room without anyone knowing - buying them from a second hand store for peanuts... Mum DID NOT approve of romance books!!

...Oh, and I think my husband would love to throw away my ereader as well!

Makenzie - I don't think I've ever had gunmbo... That will have to wait until I get over the States one day :)

If you try gumbo here in the states, make sure you're in South Louisiana...or Mackenzie's father's house. :-)

message 1958: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 203 comments lol...my dream of driving an American muscle car from West to East (was planning on I40) needs a detour south for some Gumbo. I do like Louisiana Hot Sauce, maybe I should buy a case...somehow it seems more real buying Louisiana Hot Sauce in Louisiana.

Do you think Makenzie's father will welcome my husband and I with open arms for the opportunity to cook his gumbo for us!!? LOL :)

Hey Ian, perhaps we sort out a road trip with a few cars, touring around looking for gumbo?? What a hoot!

Jane (PS) | 24343 comments Welcome to the group Aideen and Jodi :)

LOL Aideen - bodice rippers at the ripe age of 12! Hmmm, strangely I haven't ever read a Victoria Holt...

Jodi - you are in a great profession! Want to read it? Order it! (Perhaps a little simplistic, but you get my drift... :)

Jane (PS) | 24343 comments I don't have a clue about cars... (And nor does my husband!) So long as it has air-conditioning and enough room for luggage, I'm good :)

message 1965: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 203 comments OK...you and your husband can have the 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlas. You should be good for luggage.

Hahaha. Most definitely! When he makes it, he makes a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge pot...and it's usually just for my mom and dad...and sometimes me (when I'm in town). They freeze 75% of it. I'll let y'all know next time he cooks a gumbo. Which will probably either be Thanksgiving or most definitely Christmas.

But yes, anywhere in SOUTH Louisiana will have good gumbo. If it's a hole in the wall place, it's probably better than the fancy restaurants. :D

Carrie wrote: The 3 Fyne Witches books are great, I haven't checked out her Children of the Sun books.

Carrie, you should definitely check out the other 6 books! And according to her Facebook page, I believe she's going to start working on another 3. After saying no more, she just couldn't stay away from Columbyana. :)

Welcome to the group, Jensine! There are some great romance suspense books - so many good ones to pick from, you're spoiled for choice...

LOL - I haven't yet hit memory overload on my eReader, but I tend to remove them once I've read the book. Calibre is great for managing your eLibrary :)
