I know I am a book addict because I get into reading modes where I ignore friends for weeks at a time! Oh and Jennifer, I too use the toilet as an excuse to read! It's an escape from my kids.

When I was 13 or so, I decided to be a vegetarian and I boldly declared to the world that we shouldn't be eating meat. About six months later I found myself sitting in the toilet eating a cold cheeseburger. Perhaps rather than eating the cheeseburger in the toilet I should have tried a little humble pie in the kitchen.

That's when I decided to extricate myself from the mess I'd gotten myself into. I do eat meat now. A friend of mine is traveling to the U.S. next month. Last week I rang up the airline, told them I was his PA and told them he was on a strict fruit diet. They have him down for fruit platters for all meals. He's a big ex-Army guy and he likes his meat.

OK - I eat sweet potatoes nearly every day, but if they are the other type of yam - the 'original' yam - then I may have had them in Fiji or NZ... Clearly I love sweet potato but we can't buy the other type of yam in the supermarket.

Yams are similar to sweet potatoes...Ive never actually seen them in Australia but I've eaten them in a bunch of countries in South East Asia and the Pacific. They're really delicious.

First Romance Novel Read: I think it was Independence! by Dana Fuller Ross. It was the first in the series of romance novels about the pioneers and were all named after the states. I loved them so much, years later I scoured used book stores and garage sales and thrift stores to find them all again.
