Glad you found some books that interested you. I would love to read Animal Magnetism as a buddy read. I just got it from the library so I can read it whenever works for you. I am excited this book had been on my list for awhile and I love Jill Shalvis.

Hi Dr! Welcome to the group! Unfortunately, the sign-ups are closed for this month, but I will add you into the re-pick mix so you will at least get some book recommendations.

That sounds great to me! How about if we start it next Sunday (the 8th)? I'm going to be listening to the audio version, and I have several hours in the car that day, so lots of listening time! :)

1. Blockbuster Hit: Fire Kristin Cashore
2. Tearjerker: Cry no more Linda Howard
3. Independant Film: Ember Madison Daniel
4. Enduring Classic: Priestess of the white Trudi Canavan (classic in my opinion :)
5. Sequels, Sequels: A Stroke of Midnight (Meredith Gentry, #4)

7. Summer Hits: Secrets of a Summer Night Lisa Kleypas

Kathryn, the pick for that category can also be a book by new or relatively unknown author - maybe someone who has only had one or two books published and hasn't really become well known yet.

Thanks so much this really helps :D

1. Blockbuster Hit: I got the feeling from what you've read that you like contemporary romance. A series that has gotten a lot of buzz here on goodreads is Jill Shalvis's Lucky Harbor - it is so good!! You have Simply Irresistible on your shelf, you really ought to read it! Another really good series of books is Julie James's FBI/US Attorney books, beginning with Something About You. I haven't read any of her books that haven't been really good, but that one was excellent! You might want to give her a try!
2. Tearjerker: I think you might like Baby Love by Catherine Anderson, it is such a sweet, sweet story! Another idea might be Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy. The way the hero falls for the heroine in that book just made me melt! Or perhaps you could pick A Walk to Remember or The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks from your to-read shelf.
3. Independent Film: You liked the first book in the Kowalski series by Shannon Stacey so I would suggest you read the second, Undeniably Yours! If you don't care about reading series in order, although I just can't do it, you have Yours to Keep on your to-read shelf already! I don't think you can go wrong with either of those books! But if you would rather try a new author, maybe Guarding Suzannah by Norah Wilson would interest you?
Enduring Classic: First here I will suggest a true classic from you shelves, Persuasion by Jane Austen. But if we are talking about the romance genre, I think you can't go wrong with Nora Roberts or Susan Elizabeth Phillips! You have read a lot by both of them, but it seems you haven't read about the MacKade Brothers or all of the Chicago Stars book. So I'm going to suggest the first of each series - The Return of Rafe MacKade by Nora Roberts and It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
5. Sequels, Sequels: Like I noted before, you appear to like Nora Roberts, so I am going to push this one a bit and suggest Naked in Death by J.D. Robb, her alter ego. I think you might like it! If you want to just stick with La Nora, you should consider The Sign of Seven Trilogy, it begins with Blood Brothers.
6. On the Edge of Your Seat: One of my favorite series is Maya Banks's KGI series! It begins with The Darkest Hour and what a beginning! I love the Kelly brothers! Another idea is Out Of Her League by Kaylea Cross, I liked the books that follow this one more than the first, but the first is still very good!
Buddy Reads:
7. Summer Hits: Before I get to the New Release spot, I just have to suggest First Lady by Susan Elizabeth Phillips! You have Lucy's book on your to-read shelf, but you should read the book where we first meet her! I've read this one already though and I don't think I will have time for a reread, even though it is a favorite!
8. New Release: I couldn't resist when I saw this one of your shelves - The Great Escape by Susan Elizabeth Phillips! I'm just looking for an excuse to read it - I would be happy to read it with you!

I got you a mixture of genres for your recs, so I hope you will find something that will interest you.
Blockbuster Hit

Thanks for the recs! I think I´m going to finally meet with Cat and Bones and read
Halfway to the Grave

Ok, sorry, I am having computer trouble, and I don't know which "Original Sin" I recommended, and which one you said that you'd read. I'm sure that either is ok, but I was trying to let you know that I meant to recommend Original Sin

Elise, how about

Ok I have it on my reader now, so we can start Tuesday or Wednesday if you like :) E

Thanks for the picks. I am going to read a couple of them this month.
Deadly Heat by Cynthia Eden...it has been on my list for awhile and I love suspense.
Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost...would love to read this with you as a Buddy read.
Cry No More by Linda Howard...just requested this from the library, so if I can get it I will be reading this one too.

Here are some picks for you - you didn't really have a lot on your shelves and not much romance - so I tried to get a combo between new to you recommendations and stuff on your shelves...hopefully there are a few books that work for you.
1. Blockbuster Hit
One Day - I haven't read this, but saw that they made a movie out of it, I guess that makes it a blockbuster is some way (from your TBR)
The Help - this was a great movie and I loved the audiobook of it, so I hope you enjoy it
2. Tearjerker
Tuesdays with Morrie - reading the description made me a bit teary eyed - so I think this works for a tearjerker
Firefly Lane - I was at work bawling my eyes out when I was reading this - one of the few books recently that has made me cry
3. Independent Film
A Trip to the Beach: Living on Island Time in the Caribbean - this actually looks interesting and I might have to see about getting it
Out Of Her League - this was recommended to me a couple of PIFM's ago and I ended up enjoying it
4. Enduring Classic
The Lost Symbol - it has been on your shelf pretty much since you joined GR
Mansfield Park - Jane Austen - need I say more ;)
5. Sequels, Sequels
The Coffin Dancer - you read the first book in the series and gave it 4 stars, so why not try the second
The Best of Me - there are only 2 authors on your shelves that are listed more than once, so why not try Nicholas Sparks' new book
6. On the Edge Of Your Seat
The Hypnotist - this has gotten really good reviews from my friends who have read it
The Surgeon - the first book in her Rizzoli and Isles series that features a Boston Homicide Cop and a Medical Examiner
7. Summer Hit
Exclusively Yours - this seems to be a lite contemporary read
My Uncle Oswald - I loved Roald Dahl growing up and keep forgetting that he wrote adult books as well - the description in this one made me giggle
8. New Release
Love Is Murder - during the summer, I love reading anthologies because the stories are nice and short and there are a lot of big names that contributed to this one
Somebody To Love - Kristin Higgins is a comfort read to me and this is her new book - so why not try it
**I don't know if I will have any time for buddy reads this month, but I am planning on reading Love is Murder and Mansfield Park if you want to join me

I'm ready when ya'll are! This will be my first buddy read so I'm not 100% sure how it works...

I finished Dead Case in Deadwood yesterday - the book has taken a swing away from the rest of the series at the end but it still has me hooked. Thanks for the rec.

Hi Valerie,
finished my first pick

It was a cute story, thanks for the rec!
I will go on with

Finished Fifty Shades of Grey. I give it 2 stars. I just couldn't connect with either the H or the h. Honestly I wanted shake some sense into Ana & punch Christian in areas best left unsaid....
Although I prefer an Alpha Male more than a Dominant, I have read BDSM before, in fact LOVE Master of the Mountain (except for the public punishment scene near the ending), but I couldn't seem to like this one. Thanks for giving me the push to read it Nikki, and I'm sorry it wasn't a good fit for me.

Thanks for the honest opinion! I haven't read it yet so I have no idea if I'd like it or not. I am oddly happy to hear there's someone out there that doesn't like it! I hate how hyped up its gotten. That's the main reason I haven't read it yet.

Thanks for the picks Iris! It is that time of year, isn't it? It's difficult to be at the computer. Of course it's raining this morning so here I am.
I have Latte Trouble lined up for another challenge this month so I'll definitely read that one. I'm really going to try to get toWolf at the Door and Playing for Keeps. I'm also planning to read Lothaire and was thinking of starting it sometime this week or the beginning of next. As always, trying to juggle too many challenges. :) If that timing works out for you and you'd like to do it as a buddy read let me know.
Thanks again!

Sounds great!

Hi Debbie. I would like to read the City of Lost Souls. Does that sound good to you? Let me know when you want to start. I am flexible to a start date.
Megan L

I finished Mockingjay. I am glad I finally finished the series although I am not sure if I am entirely happy with the ending. It was a good read though.
Megan L

I don't normally read ya, however, this is the second time this particular book was recommended to me, so I figured it was worth the read. I actually enjoyed it and found myself getting the rest of the series. I'm like a little kid, I have to know what happens next. lol. Thanks for the recommendation, ladies.
