I haven't read that particular book, but yes, I've been tempted to throw my books before :)

I had that same thing happen in a book I read, Believe Like a Child. I loved the whole book and got to the last chapter and couldn't believe what happened!! I was seething for days!

message 2: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) Well I have a Kindle so it probably wouldn't be the best idea to throw that but definitely yes.

I can't think of any particular books at this minute but I have had to rage-stop a few books and take a break :P

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 374 comments Here are some titles I wanted to do that with:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5) by J.K. Rowling Crimson Midnight by Amos Cassidy Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning Pandora's Key (The Key Trilogy, #1) by Nancy Richardson Fischer

are a few I can think of off the top of my head

Yzabel Ginsberg (yzabelginsberg) | 247 comments Yeah, I almost did that with "Uglies" recently. Only I didn't, because I didn't want to break my eReader. >.<

Julie Reece Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare

Agree with Crimson Midnight by Amos Cassidy
Can't believe they would do that to us :)

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 374 comments I still loved it, and book 2 is the same way

Suzanne Pringle | 120 comments I don't think I have ever been that mad...wait maybe once or twice. I have, however walked away from a book very distributed and wondering what the...did I just read. :~

Tiffani | 88 comments Lol, I've felt that way with a lot of books. One of them was Eden by Keary Taylor. Ughh... seriously, I wished Eve could have just make up her mind what boy she liked. It drove me into such a craze I skipped to the end to see which guy she picked.

message 10: by Rebecka (new)

Rebecka Yeah, this happens to me a lot. I can't think of any specific ones off the top of my head, but I do understand the feeling :)

Tammy ~Witching Hour Reads~ (03tammy-lynn) | 1434 comments I've had this happen to me a few times, I have usually caught myself before said book was wiped across the room. There has only been one casualty and that was The Lost Saint (The Dark Divine, #2) by Bree Despain

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 239 comments The last chapter of HP and the deathly hallows, others I can't remember. I tend to stop reading if a book annoys me.
The one I am writing- yes frequently:)

Mia (hotwolfie) | 24 comments Never thrown a book lol but I have complained very loudly about the cr@ppy ones. So my anger is more vocal than physical :)

These books include: The Handmaid's Tale, Rabbit Hole, and The Nanny Diaries.

haha, I was going to list this book. After reaching a certain part, I'm sure I dropped and was like "okay, where are the matches."

I was ready to burn the middle of New Moon, but since it wasn't mine, I resisted the temptation.

When characters I like are killed off, I scream or just throw the book down. These include The Sweet Far Thing, Mockingjay and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I'll probably throw Clockwork Princess across the room when I read it.

I never actually burned a book, or thrown it across the room, but I think I will one day if the author really makes me angry...haha

Tiffany Loves Books (tiffanythebooklover) | 207 comments Quite often! I tend to hate weak characters. The stalker type like in Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick or Die for Me (Revenants, #1) by Amy Plum . Then there are those characters that are too easily manipulated like in Struck by Jennifer Bosworth ...

The point is too often

I threw mine! That was really the first time I realized that those books were complete garbage. But I forced myself to read the rest of the series. I'll be honest, the other books got QUITE a beating as well.

Oh The Sweet Far Thing made me sooo angry!!

I couldn't stand the main character in Thoughtless-I won't say why because I don't want to spoil it, but I hated it

message 18: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Selzer | 10 comments SO funny. I am, admittedly, a book thrower. As several others have mentioned here however, one must restrain oneself when reading on an e-reader. My solution for that has been to immediately delete the content... but somehow that's not quite as satisfying as chucking a book across the room. I think the last time I chucked a book was with Twilight. And, though I was determined to finish it just to see what the fuss was all about, it got thrown after just about every reading session. Once finished, I donated it promptly.

message 19: by Reading Wolf (new)

Reading Wolf (readingwolfminda) Most of the books I read are on my Nook so it has been a while since I have actually thrown a book....but I have pounded the keyboard in anger while writing a review. Also my poor husband has listened to me rant endlessly while reading books I should have thought twice about attempting. These books would be The Twilight Saga, Delirium, Fallen, and the books I just could not finish.

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 239 comments Twilight seems a common theme

message 21: by Raven (last edited Jun 26, 2012 09:48AM) (new)

Raven (missy_aurora) | 0 comments New Moon and Breaking Dawn (which although I didn't throw them I slammed them shut and threw them at the bottom of my chest until I finally donated them t0 the library and the librarian asked me why I didn't want to keep it for my "collection" I resisted making a nasty face at the mention of these) Mockingjay~I would have thrown it at the end and numerously throughout had it not been a library book. Same with Feed by M.T. Anderson and Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast but these again being library books I simply shut them loudly and returned them the next day unfinished.
