message 1060: by Bess (last edited May 26, 2016 03:13PM) (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Very cool!!

Read The Christmas Cat by Melody Carlson for the Bingo game and Christmas at Pebble Creek (The Pebble Creek Amish) by Vannetta Chapman to try to read some of the books on my "to read" list. I started with the shortest book and thought to move up after that. However, I don't really like Amish, so, I changed my mind about this plan.

I'm finishing up ML's Legacy of the King's Pirates: The Ransom (Legacy of the King's Pirates, #4) by MaryLu Tyndall and The Reckoning (Legacy of the King's Pirates #5) by MaryLu Tyndall .

I'm trying to finish up some of the series that I started. I still have several to read but it is fun "wrapping" things up!

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Currently reading: Lion of Babylon by Davis Bunn and The Truth Seeker (O'Malley #3) by Dee Henderson

Like Bess, I'm working through my to-be-read piles. But I am also enjoying a reread of the O'Malley Chronicles, one of my favorite series of all time.

Maryann Skaritka | 5 comments I am reading Stranded with the Rancher by Tina Radcliffe

message 1063: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I'm going back to the idea of tackling my tbr shelf shortest to longest to shorten the shelf! Read Romance on the River (Civil War Heroines, #.5) by Mary Ellis and reading Miss Merriweather's Marriage (The Secret Lives of Will Tucker 0.5) by Kathleen Y'Barbo . Both are short and take a matter of minutes.

message 1064: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Finished those couple of short novellas on my tbr list. I have two books from the library to start: Always the Baker, Never the Bride (Emma Rae Creations, #1) by Sandra D. Bricker and Isle of Swords (Isle of Swords, #1) by Wayne Thomas Batson . Just not sure which to start first...

message 1069: by Bess (last edited Jun 06, 2016 08:14AM) (new)

Bess | 2584 comments So, I picked Always the Baker, Never the Bride (Emma Rae Creations, #1) by Sandra D. Bricker , and then hit my TBR list again with A Bride for Pastor Dan (Parkside Community Church #1) by Katie Crabapple & A Perfect Fit (The Carthage Chronicles, #0.5) by Lynne Gentry . Then, the buddy read commenced with The Wedding Chapel by Rachel Hauck . After that, I went back to the Emma Rae books with Always the Wedding Planner, Never the Bride (Emma Rae Creations, #2) by Sandra D. Bricker & Always the Designer, Never the Bride (Emma Rae Creations, #3) by Sandra D. Bricker . This series is super cute but I have to say, I love Janice Thompson's versions so much better. The books are not related but similar. Ms. Bricker's are in GA and Ms. Thompson's are in TX. Back to buddy reading with Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen . I have this one in an audio version. After this, I have the Bingo read, The Huntress of Thornbeck Forest by Melanie Dickerson . I read more books in May than I have in any other month so far. : )

What are YOU reading?

J. C. Bueno (sciartion) | 5 comments I am supposedly reading this: The Genesis Flood The Biblical Record and Its Scientific Implications by John C. Whitcomb But I have to admit it is quite boring, to be the main christian book (apart from the Bible) that I'm reading. So, would you recommend me some good christian fiction out there (no Narnia please)? It hasn't to be strictly christian.

I was surprised I read that much since I'm typically a super slow reader. I really did enjoy that one! I'm very much looking for to the rest of the series!

David Winters Cynthia RuchtiA Fragile Hope
Received an ARC of A Fragile Hope and loved it. Ruchti writes beautiful, lilting prose that urges the reader on from page to page. Her soon-to-be-released book had me from hello. A work-obsessed husband begins to doubt his wife's fidelity and his own adequacy as a spouse. Throw in a major car accident and colorful characters. The plot held me through the last page and taught me a few things about caring for those we love most. Five stars from me.
