they look so cool!, I thought of getting one but I'm not done with mine yet.
How long does the battery lasts?, because that's the one thing that made me decide for a Kindle 3 instead of any other.

I got mine for Christmas and I can't put it done. The battery lasts pretty good. I use my to read and to watch Netflix

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments I'm done with my YA Paranormal book and I will post everything when I get home from work

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments I went with the Kindle touch 3g. I had a Sony eteader for a couple years before you could get ebooks from the library for the kindle and liked that pretty good, but I LOVE my kindle. My son jas the fire which is cool, but since I already had a smart phone I liked the capability of the 3g a little better for my purposes.

My thought was; at least THAT'S out of the way. I have to be in the mood for YA.

Lili | 297 comments I'm watching The Expendables and it is all I thought it would be and more!
gggrrrr!! boom! oooommphhh!! arrrrgghh!! BOOOM!!! oooohhh!!!

The hottest actor is either Jet Li, Latrell from the white chicks movie or the guy from the transporter, everyone else looks over 90 and in need of buckets of anti-wrinkle facial and body cream... and maybe botox but definitely no more plastic surgery.

I just found out that Sly was director, writer, lead actor and I think even producer for this epic film... jeeezzz...

Anyway, after I'm done with this movie (which is actually sort of funny and quite entertaining) and if I don't pass out of testosterone overdose I'll be starting with my free space book since I'll be needing some reality check...
Be Still My Vampire Heart by Kerrelyn Sparks.

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments Okay, I finished Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep on 6/19/12 and give it 3.5*'s. The rating greatly suffers from my general less than love of this genre. I am sure if I was a bigger fan of YA paranormal then I would probably have rated this book higher. As it is, I will likely read on in the series, but as long as I can get them for free from the library. I bought this one since the copies were all checked out on Saturday, but when I have the time to wait, I will do that. I enjoyed this unique story of Gwen Frost going to Mythos Academy after her mother's death. She feels like an outcast amongst all of the other warrior students when she is only that "Gypsy girl" with a little magic. When Gwen discovers a murdered student, very little is done at school to discover what happened. Gwen decides to use her psychometry to try to solve what the mystery. Along the way, she discovers the truth behind the school, meets some possible friends after being alone since her mother's death, and learns why she is really at Mythos Academy. Having the Spartans, Amazons, Valkyries and other descendants from mythological beings was a fun twist on the usual paranormal books I've read.

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments I will be reading Embraced By Darkness (Riley Jenson Guardian, #5) by Keri Arthur for the free space found on the SOS bookshelves.

Good luck with that reality check Lili. I've read all of that series and reality is not the first thing that comes to mind... LOL! Have you met Dr. Phang yet?

Yeah, I agree Rachel, I was glad this one was done and out of the way. Just glad this was not the one that we had to race to the finish for :D

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments I finished Devoured by Amanda Marrone on 6/19/12 and gave it 4 stars.
I really did enjoy this book. It was a cute read. I am going to read more of this author. The only thing I didn't like about this book is that I know who done it like little less then half away the book.

Now I am off to read my free space book

What's disappointing, are all the authors I like jumping on the YA bandwagon. =less books that I really want to read. Kresley Cole is latest one.

Oh my Lord.... I didn't know about Cole's new series!
IAD is one of my favorite series ever (at least the first books were awesome) and now she's doing YA books instead writing of Nix's story??

Well.. at least she's giving us a new series too and I must say Shadow's Claim sounds quite interesting.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments I just finished my free space book Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White on 6/20/12 and I found it on SOS bookshelf. I gave it 5 stars.

I really did liked this book.I liked the world building in this book. I can't wait to go on with this series.I tried reading this book before but really couldn't get into it. I am glad I picked it up again. I really did like Evie and Lend.

Sorry I am not really good at writing reviews

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments ❥☪LIZZ NEILL☪❥ wrote: "Sorry I am not really good at writing reviews ..."

Don't worry Lizz, I'm the same way. My review is one of my longer ones I've written and that was just because I was trying to give you all a good first impression :D How would you categorize this book, or would you compare it to any other series? Just curious because it isn't one I have picked up before. Congrats on finishing, I am only 27% through mine, I do miss my page numbers, however, it is fun to see what percent I am at.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments I will have to think about that Heather

Yeah- Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole is her new YA series. Not sure how she'll do juggling 3 series (IAD, Dacians, Arcana Chronicles) or how far (ffffaaaarrrr) apart the books will be.

message 73: by Rachel-RN (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Goodreads has Shadow's Claim (Immortals After Dark, #13) by Kresley Cole has the 1st book in the Dacian series (a spin-off), but it's also listed as IAD #13 too.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 1143 comments Hey everyone, well as promised I finished my read for the YA Paranormal shelf Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead , I have really struggled with the rating on this book, I love this series dont misunderstand but I absolutely hate it when an author leaves me no explanations what so ever to all the questions that I am left with at the end of this book however with that being said I did like the book & definitely plan to read the next one very very soon so I am going to give this 4*s only because the author is making me read the next book so quickly...

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 1143 comments Miss Rachel request our stamp please

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments @Sallie it took me forever to read the last book cause I didn't want it to end.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 1143 comments Im picking: Succubus Heat...

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments I will be reading Under a Vampire Moon. It came from Amazon a little while back, forgot I ordered it, and finally found it today. I used to laugh when I saw people in this group talk about not being able to find a book they owned, but now I understand. My husband just shakes his head at me, luckily with humor.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments Will pick my book when I get up

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Done 6/24 Mercy Burns 3 ♥
I really like Keri Arthur's books and it was nice to read one again. I would have given this a 4, but I knocked it down a star because Mercy got on my nerves. She worried way too much about killing those who were after her. She even felt guilty about the people she knocked out (who would have had no issue killing her).

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments ❥☪LIZZ NEILL☪❥ wrote: "I am going to read Unholy Ghosts for Favorite-series"

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments I finished Under a Vampire Moon (Argeneau, #16) by Lynsay Sands for the favorite series shelf on 6/25/12 and give it 4*'s. These are always light, easy reads and are great fun to enjoy. In this book we read about life mates Christian, son of Julius and Margaruerite, and Carolyn, a human vacationing in St Lucia while dealing with a horrible divorce from an abusive husband. The book was entertaining with a whole new cast of immortals that I am hoping we see in future books. This was a great summer escape read.

Heather ~ Marceline | 1017 comments I finished Embraced By Darkness (Riley Jenson Guardian, #5) by Keri Arthur for the free shelf on 6/25/12 and really struggled on the rating for this one, but decided on 5*'s. The emotionally struggles that Riley went through on this one really got to me. The actually cases she worked in this book were intriguing in this book. At times it seemd a bit much to keep up with two cases, but the one wrapped up about halfway through the book so we were able to focus on the one primary story. This story involved members of Riley and Rhoan's original pack and it was good to get more backstory on their youth. Overall, this was a great book and I look forward to where Riley's love life will lead in the next book.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments I should start my book tomorrow

message 97: by Lili (new)

Lili | 297 comments Hey you guys... I couldn't decide what to read for this shelf since there are so many wonderful series.

I finally picked Seize the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon because I want to get to Ash's book.

I'm stuck with The Iron Duke for now, it started reaaaaally slow but things are starting to happen now.

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 1368 comments Finally! Finished Mine Till Midnight 6/28 4 ♥
I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It had a slow start and an annoying heroine (at the beginning) and then it was great. I'm very glad Amelia lightened up, her controlling behavior annoyed me. Back off and let them mess up. I liked Cam in Devil in Winter and enjoyed his story. The one person that I disliked and don't think (right now) he has one redeeming quality and that is Leo. Leo=selfish. Looking for to Win's and Kev's story.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments Ok I had to challenge my book to Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher cause I have to get it back to the library soon.

message 100: by Lili (new)

Lili | 297 comments Just finished Seize the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon, 5 big stars for that one!

W0W!
I'm still a little stunned, a lot happened in this book... A LOT!

This one is probably the most important book in the series so far, somehow I feel it should have been longer for so much to change or be known.
I didn't remember Valerius at first, so he was just an obnoxious guy with an ego the size of the sun.
About halfway through I remembered a scene from another book in the series, the one where Otto put pasties on the marble statues just to piss off Val... I thought it was hilarious then but after I got to know him a little more, it was even funnier!
But then Tabby spent some time with him and I could see a new side of Val, one where he wasn't so serious but just a reglar guy.
The scene with the pasta was my favorite one, I thought it was brilliant!
