Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Hey guys! I'm from the US (Maine on the East coast), my favorite series is the Dark-hunters and I am a returning player. :D

message 12: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments I'm from Missouri. I'm a returning player, and its hard to pick fav series but I like Mercedes Thompson and Anita Blake.

message 13: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Hi Heather and Jennifer! You know, I was only thinking recently how much I wanted to read all the Dark-Hunter books, I've only read a grand total of... 2 from the series! Shame on me :P

Is that your cat, Jennifer? It is so cute!! I freaking LOVE cats! I can't bring myself to bread my cat yet... I don't know how happy he would be with me lol.

Has anyone thought of any cool names?

message 14: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments Yup his name is Simba. I love cats too! As far as names, I am terrible at thinking of ideas..

message 15: by Lis (new)

Lis | 3550 comments Hey Jennifer and Heather how'd you get on the same team again? Good Luck ladies... Had to hunt ya down.

message 16: by booklovinrn (new)

booklovinrn | 106 comments Hi guys. I am from the US (South Carolina). This is my second round of BSB. Favorite series...hmm that is a hard one I love the Back Dagger Brotherhood, Psy/Cangeling, Dark Hunters, Mercedes Thompson, and the list goes on. I just really love paranormal/urban fantasy.

message 17: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Hey Cathy! Some good series there :D

I hope someone's creative in this group lol. The thing that I link to 3 is like The Three Bears or The Three Little Pigs... maybe we could put a book or paranormal spin on it? The Three Witches... even though there's five of us. Oh I don't know. I'm going off to think of some names.

message 18: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 150 comments Thanks lis!! Good luck!

message 19: by Laura (last edited Jun 16, 2012 04:13AM) (new)

Laura | 892 comments Thats what i have come up with so far is Sisters of three

message 20: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 23493 comments How about the Three Sisters (which is a fab landmark just outside Sydney) :D

message 21: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Thanks, Sandra!

This is my attempt so far:

Third time’s a charm
A hat-trick of spells
Triathlon of reading: fighting, running and sexing
Rapier, pistol, spells (paranormal version of rock, paper, scissors)
Conquering comes in threes
The Fates
The Third Coming
Triple the trouble
Vamps, and shifters, and demons! Oh my!
Triple threat reading

plus
Three Sisters or Sisters of Three

message 22: by Heather (last edited Jun 16, 2012 02:45PM) (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Wow Josie several of those ideas made me laugh. I think my favorite is either Vamps, shifters and demons! Oh my! or The Third Coming.

As my contribution... maybe something like

(...) Times Three to the Fifth

(luck...
power...
trouble...
books...
reading...
something else..........?)

That shows that we are team three and there are five of us.

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments I'm fine with you as captain if everyone else is. :)

I'm still looking for my Free Space read but for this weeks self I'll be reading Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake .

message 27: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I'll be interested to see what you think of that one!

message 28: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Lol, it definitely grabbed my attention. This was the shelf I was least looking forward to so at least it'll be out of the way. I'm just glad I found a book that doesn't appear to revolve around school and/or have a love triangle..... Curses to the YA love triangle!!!!!

message 29: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Oh tell me about it! What I don't understand are what these superduper hot/old/powerful guys are hanging around schools for. I mean at best it's impausible, at worst it's kind of pedophilic :/

Aaannd then we come to the love triangle. Young adult really killed that, didn't it?

I've just been searching the lists for adult paranormal books or YA non-paranormal, cos I'm not really feeling them both together. It's not really working though :P

message 30: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Whenever I had a hard time finding a book last round I would click on one of the links that says "shelved x times as x" and then click on one of the people who have a lot of books on that shelf and look through that.

For example: http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/... This person has 431 books listed under young-adult-paranormal, maybe you'll find something on her shelf you'll like.

message 31: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Thanks Heather, I never thought to do it like that :)

Judithe | 6371 comments Happy shelf-day, everyone!

The virtual tracker of all shelves stamped & all bingo cards is up. I copied up the cards from each thread, and need other eyes to check that there are no mistakes. If the captain or an enthusiastic teammate could pop over to check the notice, then your card and let me know it's OK, I would really appreciate it! Many, many thanks!

message 46: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Finished: Anna Dressed in Blood
Shelf: Young-Adult-Paranormal
Read: 6/17/12
Rating: ★★★★

Review:
As soon as I saw the cover of this book I was intrigued. Then I read the summary and became anxious to read a the book with the tagline "Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story..." . Now, having finished this book, I am glad to say that I wasn't disappointed.

This book could easily appeal to almost anyone of any genre preference. There's romance and suspense, horror and action, the cliche and the wholly unexpected. Somehow, this book manages to be both gory and beautiful, horrific and divine. The author takes no prisoners and no one is safe completely.

The story is told through the point of view of Cas, a 17 year-old who has made it his life work to follow in his late fathers footsteps and kill murdering ghosts. There are many books in which first person present just doesn't work - this is not one of those books.

I recommend and you can see the rest of my review HERE

message 48: by Heather (new)

Heather (heathermb) | 132 comments Thanks! It was a very engaging read. ^.^

And I finally decided on Shadow Bound (Unbound, #2) by Rachel Vincent for the Free Space read.

message 49: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Well done, Heather!! I'm definitely looking forward to reading it :D

message 50: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved, #1) by Cate Tiernan

Title/Author: Immortal Beloved by Cate Tiernan
Date finished: 18th June
Rating: ★★★★
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book though it's kind of weird that it's labeled as young-adult when the protagonist, Nas, is over 400 years old.
I found it somehow fascinating and it managed to hold my attention even though thinking back, not a lot actually happened. There's a definite feel of setting the stage but it's also centred on her personal growth (which sounds more boring than it was). I'm looking forward to reading the next instalment of this trilogy.
