Hey all! Sorry I've been absent, work has been killer this week :( however I have tomorrow and most of Saturday off so I'm hoping to get some serious reading done soon. I guess it is better to take extra time at the beginning since there is no way anyone could possibly win right now. But I will be all caught up soon!!
Midu, is that a review for Bingo? If so, it won't count as the review MUST be posted on this thread and not linked elsewhere.
You can cut and paste if its meant to be here :)
Sure,Sandra!

This was such a refreshing book! Another YA novel that I’d recommend to those of us who aren’t too into them.
The book had everything:
a teenager who acted her age, was smart and kicked butt-not dumb enough to dismiss the strange ongoings in her school like most YA protagonists would have done.
characters that kept me interested throughout-Nick’s zombieness made him all the more fun and Lydia was cute.
the right beginning and a balanced ending-the book wasn’t too long either.
there were some spelling mistakes, yes.
the humor was done just right.
It was fun, witty and a quick read-I just couldn’t put the book down till I was done reading.
Book/Author: Blue Bloods by Malissa De La Cruz
Series Name: Blue Bloods
Shelf: YA paranormal
Read: 6/23/12
Rating: ★★★
Review: This my first De La Cruz book. It was a little too YA for me. (Don't get me wrong. I like some of the YA books.) But first half was boring as heck (almost didn't finish). Second half much better. The plot was ok. Tho, there's hope that it'll get better. The world builidng was also ok. My peeve -- what's up with all the designer name-droppings. Sheesh, a little down your throat don't you think? Overall, however, I liked it ok. 3 stars was a little generous. I'll give a second book a try if not better. I will probably abandon the series all together. So many good books to explore, so little time.

I'm reading The Reckoning for my favorite series pick. I just finished book 1 and 2 in this series today. I'm on a roll.
Hey everyone! I've finished my YA and will post up my review soon!I'll be reading for my favourite series pick Blameless by Gail Carriger
So I finished Valiant for the YA shelf. Overall I didn't think it was as good a story as the first book in the series, Tithe. Too much of the book was spent on doing drugs and scrounging around as homeless teens, however the development of the love story in this book was vastly superior to that of the first book. I'm interested to see how the series wraps up in book 3! Rating: 3 stars completed 6/25/12
The Reckoning Favorite Series Completed 06-25-12 5 StarsI really liked how this book brought about a completion to the story, but still left me wanting more. I could really feel the bond grow between the 4 main characters. Too bad it was only a trilogy.
Hey guys. i'm chiecking in. Just finished the Fav Series shelf. I think I'll finish the free space before the new shelf announced. My free space book:

Review: I really like the 6th book of the series. Andreas was (literally) hot. --Hahaha. I'm laughing at my own joke here.-- His pyrokinetic ability was a pleasant surprise. And the passive dreamwalking Claire was likable enough. However, I found that I like the begining of the book better. It gets boring at times in the middle and ends. But all and all, it's still one of my favorite series. Can't wait to start the next book.
Good job Wan! I'm glad you liked your book :) It should all be updated now with your info. Jenny - I still need your review for the YA book. I'll post our info for a stamp as soon as I get that in. I just want to make sure I didn't miss anything with you! :)
Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick 06-29-12 Big 5 Stars. This book answered the questions I had from the 1st book of series and left me with more. I'm glad I could steal the 3rd book from my daughter. She'll never miss it. Well at least not right away.
I liked the growth of the main charators and can see them getting better. Still not to sure about the mom.

Review:
I love how the female lead tries to choose her battles. She does her best to find a balance between fighting against the gender bias and coming off as a spoiled brat. I also see how she's afraid to commit to Marc because of the same reasons-hate her for hurting him- but if she gives in to him, it means staying with the Pride and having his kids. That is the role of women/tabbies in a pride. How they treat Ryan after what he did is another thing I like. You can't kill a family member, even if he did hand over his own sister to rapists and serial killers! So what do you do with him? Keep him caged, of course! What I don't like is how Faythe constantly keeps underestimating her mother's strength, just because she chose to be a housewife and gave up her seat on the ruling council. Looking forward to the next one.

I really enjoyed this book for various reasons:
anything that has to do with mythology always attracts me and the author incorporated Egyptian mythology into this story beautifully.
the action begins with the first page and keeps going!
the story kept me interested throughout and it was the right length.
I liked how Nur/Nicole knew some things instinctively while she had to work to get better at others.
Another thing I liked about this book was that it can be read as a stand alone.
Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

07-01-125 Stars New-2-You Series
I started the book this morning and couldn't put it down. The story flowed well and I never felt I ran into a slow spot. I can't wait to start the next book. Now I know why every one love Katniss.
For my new-2-you series I will read Derik's Bane (Wyndham Werewolf, #3). I've read other stuff by MaryJanice Davidson but I haven't jumped into her werewolf world yet. I'm kind of excited to read something that isn't Betsy.
I finished Derik's Bane for the new-2-you series. I only gave it 2 stars, I was really kind of disappointed with the werewolf culture they created. I felt like I was reading an episode of Jersey Shore and the male dialogue in this book was terrible! :( back to reading the betsy series for me I think. completed 7/3/12
I'm sorry you didn't get a good impression of it either Sandra! I mean, I really like Eric Sinclair (after the first book, first book he was kind of a jerk) in the Betsy series, but I feel like the way she writes her werewolves they all sound rather... metro. Not at all what I would expect from men who order themselves into packs and work out dominance and what not. I don't think she had a very good grip on any of the guys and since they are a main part of the story it was just a let down. Oh well. Live and learn.
All updated Wan! Anyone heard from Jenny lately? I'm still waiting on a review for her for our first stamp and she hasn't checked in since the 24th...
Ya I had sent a message to Steph I figured I would check and see if anyone was friends with her or knew anything though :)
Sorry! Been MIA - life has been getting in the way :)

Review: I enjoyed the second book in this series which takes up the story of Claire and the Glass House. I found the idea of Vampires all being in one town to be unusual and the secrecy, the way everyone is under the control of the Vampires to be quite a scary concept! Claire is a great character who just simply never gives up, it's amazing that she is only 16 years old! Looking forward to the rest of the series :-)

I completed favorite series Undead and Unpopular, altogether not one of the better Betsy books either. I think i'm 0/2 this week with MJD's books. I felt like this book had little plot and nothing happened in it until the last 50 pages. Also I didn't like the "developments" with Betsy's best friend. Overall I'm hoping this series picks back up again! 2 stars completed 7/5/12
