I feel the same way. What if the world ended tomorrow? (Post-apocalyptic being one of my favorites) If you didn't have 1500 books to be read, you'd go nuts! Especially if you read fast. So load up those e-readers and buy everything that comes out.

Seems to be the philosophy of one person I know. :-{

I like to leisurely scan too, it's kind of therapeutic to the "tbr syndrome". You get a little sense of accomplishment if you can take one off your pile. I've tried picking ahead, but I always change my mind, so now I wait. And if there are a lot of abs on the covers, I get a little blind and have to sttrrretchhhh the iPad view and make it a little larger to "read" better.

I do worry if I load up my kindle and I can't charge it post-Apocolyptic, what will I do?

Oh I scan the shelves too. But I know that I have books that I want to read soon. Or need to read soon for book clubs, book trades, due dates etc.., Then some shelves, I have no idea off hand what I have so I scroll until I come up with a few. I like to randomly click on page numbers too instead of just going in order after awhile. But I don't have time (or the eyes) to scroll through 100+ pages.

After the apocalypse, you read the Kindle FIRST, and keep the wireless off. It will last for weeks that way, the original kind anyway. If you can't barter for a charge later, that's when you start on the stockpile...

I like to pick out a shelf page and ctrl+f for "edit" (as in "edit my review") to see what books are already in my TBR pile. It's worked out pretty well for me so far and gives me several choices. :D

I've always felt that a good solid brick bookstore or library would be the perfect place to hole up during the zombie apocalypse. There are probably even survival guides to help you adjust to the new world order. LOL.

Great idea! Jam the back of the bookshelves against windows and doors and find a little hidey-hole! It will work out perfectly! I think my library is pretty solid with not a lot of windows. Plus it is right next to the pool in case I need to take a "bath" or cool off from all the steamy men. :)

Here is a novel that would be appropriate. I actually checked this out of the library but didnt finish it. I read the first couple of chapters and it looked interesting just ran out of time.

We've actually discussed the zombie apocalypse in great detail here at work (probably because several of us watch The Walking Dead religiously). One of my co-workers has a lot of guns, so he's agreed to let several of us camp out with him. I made him promise to kill me if I become zombie-fied. LOL

I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that my sister was a zombie and I was hunting her down. Yes I was annoyed with her at the time. I don't read zombie books or watch zombie movies and it was just before round 5 was put up for sign ups-so this didn't trigger it.

The dream was very vivid.

My sister is older than me by 8 years but she's the family screw up. She lost her license to a DUI and since I share a duplex with her: it's me that drives her to and from work most days. And almost every day I have to call her repeatedly and bang on her door to wake her up to go to work. And almost everyday she remembers when we're half-way there that she's forgotten to put in her teeth, forgotten her glasses, has the wrong purse etc..,

Zombies will catch other zombies on fire and most versions are dessicated things that flame up quick and have to eat brains and organs to get fluids back...OMG...I have to go ingest more caffeine to fire up the brain cells and grab a nice volume of chick lit to calm the brain cells that are taking this way too seriously!
