LOL, Jackie! It's too hot in here to do anything so I have my husband making me a salad. :)
I know it's shelf day when opening the bingo folder shows that this thread has a whole lot of new posts, LOL!
So stinking hot here too... Rather be reading in this kind of heat. shelf shelf! shelf! shelF! sheLF! shELF! sHELF! SHELF! SHELF!! SHELF!!!
Hopefully Mr Randomizer picks a shelf that I can read this Hawt cover book...

That one and the 50 shades books are pretty much on every shelf whether or not applicable!
Shelf! Shelf! .... Er. ... looking at other teams BINGO cards ... not a demons shelf (I am on team 16 and it took us forever to get even 2 in a row squares and demons shelf gives teams 17 and 18 four in a row) ? LOL, guess team 9 looking for paranormal or kickass shelves.
Yay! Paranormal romance for team 9 please! Vlad will work for that one...
Team 11 respectfully requests that the next shelf be either Dark Fantasy or Angels. We thank you for your consideration.
Team #12 would especially love Mr. Randomizer if he were to pick sci-fi romance or vampires. :)
Team 11 would not be opposed to dragons, urban fantasy or shifter.

I'd definitely would like the demons or new series shelves but the book I need to read doesnt fit either shelf. It fits like a million of the others though so I hope we get one of those!

Shifters was great for us. It gives us our second 3-in a row.
Shifters was great for us too! It will give us 3-in a row in two directions.
We have one 3-in a row and shifters gives us two 2-in a rows. So it's a good one for us too. Once we get caught up on our stamps.
I will probably pick out my book for the Shifters shelf tomorrow.
For those of you that have read
, do I need to read anything before this? I know it's supposed to take place in the same world as the author's other books, which I haven't read yet.

Characters from the other series show up for a brief period of time, but really you could easily read this without reading the Night Huntress books.
I've seen that book everywhere lately and I love the Night Huntress series but I was wanting to read
first...just for chronological order
If you aren't going to start with the first Cat & Bones book (
) where the main character of Once Burned is eventually introduced, there is no need to read First Drop of Crimson (Jeann, I know you have though ....)
Agreed! Once Burned can be started at any point, IMO. No need to start/finish NH or NHW prior to starting it. You will not feel lost. The difference for those who have read all of NH with or without having read all of NHW is that we already know a bit about Vlad. And, by bit, I mean a tiny bit. He's a character I fell for early on (shocking, I know ~ I'm such a book boyfriend ho), but she (Frost) always just teased us with info about him, didn't lay it all out there until his book, Once Burned.
ETA: Reading over my rambles, I'm not sure if that helped or not. LOL!

Your ramblings totally made sense to me Steph, but probably because all of it is exactly how I feel lol. I'm a book boyfriend ho too and Vlad is one that I jumped on as soon as he was introduced.

Haha thanks Steph & Regina, you've both placed the book in front of my radar! I was kind of disappointed seeing Vlad slowly disappear into the background but turns out the author had other plans for him ;)

Have you read NHW yet Steph? What did you think of that one? I loved the Night Huntress series but it started to wane towards the end (view spoiler)
Yes, I've read them all - NH, NHW and now NP. I am a fan of them all. However, I do agree w/your thoughts on NH. My rating for #6 was 3, when my rating for #5 was 5. (view spoiler) #6 just felt off for me. Couldn't really explain it other than saying it just didn't feel Night Huntressy enough for me. LOL!
Oooh I'm exactly the same - I rated #6 with a 3 and #5 with a 5!! We must be book twins or something lol! My reviews for them explain my thoughts on these - This Side of the Grave and One Grave at a Time.
LOL! ;) Both reviews were well-written and I couldn't agree more.

After hearing how many people were disappointed with book #6, I haven't felt like continuing the series.
If I can remember correctly Sarajayne, he first appears in the third book but I might be wrong :)
