'A post-apocalyptic journey across three continents, The Fallen explores how far we would go to protect the ones we love (from zombies).'
I wrote my book to be as realistic as possible. I researched medical conditions, psychology, military and civilian weaponry, tactics, etc. as a matter of fact, Sean Page of the Ministry of Zombies said this about it:"The is a genre zombie book and will therefore have a wide market but one thing I will say for it is that it offers quite some depth into why things happened. These details are cleverly revealed as the story develops."

Humanity battles both the living dead & vampires. Who will survive? The Dead War Series Book 2 . The battle against the dead continues. Available for kindle. 99 cents. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00961ICSQ
Zombie Fallout by Mark Tufo .This is really good and the first book is only .99 on Amazon. I'm starting the 3rd book now and so far it's a great series.
My favorite zombie books include, but aren't limited to, Johnathan Maberry's "Benny Imura" series, Carrie Ryan's "Forest of Hands and Teeth", Alden Bell's "The Reapers Are The Angels", Sophia Littlefield's "Aftertime" saga and for a neat, funny twist; Diana Rowland's "My Life As A White Trash Zombie" and "Even White Trash Zombies Get The Blues" and lastly, the books I'm currently reading as of this posting; Madeleine Roux's "Allison Hewitt Is Trapped" and, (the one I'm about 40% through right now), "Dashed Walker Is Stranded".
Might I suggest my thick -- downright meaty! -- fiction collection,
Beach Blanket Zombie: Weird Tales of the Undead and Other Humanoid Horrors...? BEACH BLANKET ZOMBIE features 33 stories of zombies and other ghastly creatures that shamble forth on two legs. It was published by Wildside Books and is available as a trade paperback or a Kindle ebook.
I enjoyed these three: 1) Breathers by Browne, 2) Brains:A Zombie Memoir by Becker, and 3)Zombie Autopsy by Schlozman. I'm reading This Dark Earth by Jacobs right now and it's quite good (so far). My favorite anthology was The New Dead edited by Golden.
I didn't like the Monster series by Wellington but I loved the trilogy by Mira Grant and the Dead City trilogy by Joe McKinney. I am going through zombie withdrawal right now since The Walking Dead went on hiatus. I am here looking for a new book to read too.
I would recommend Mira Grant and Robert Kirkman. Although I am HUGE fan of The Walking Dead, I have to admit that Mira Grant has Kirkman beat in the novel (non-graphic) department. Her writing is excellent. I LOVED her Newsflesh trilogy.

I'm actually quite shocked that her name hasn't come up more than what it has on this topic. IMO she has one of the best if not THE best zombie series out there.

What influences did you use for writing the book? Have you read other military V zombie books (such as stephen knight's books)?
What type of zombies are they? (the fact and occasionally smarter than fruit fly infected, or the shuffling meatbags), etc.
Start a discussion on it...there are tons of z books out there, so its good to try and give a bit of "human" talk about it verses just copy/pasting the back narration.
But props for 2 things, the courage to serve, and the courage to publish a book (arguably I would rather be shot at than have the critical view of the public on my imagination. heh)

I have started discussions about my book in other groups, but I don't mind starting another one. I replied to you comment in a new discussion here:

Thanks for the interest!
I just read one that I liked, FIERCE PEACE. It was creepy and had animallike zombie creatures as well. It had good plots, characters, and a surprise ending.

Well , you can enjoy my creation if you want .The infestation , about small Texas hill country town that erupts in chaos after a virus outbreak. Slowly the residents lose their minds and turns into rapidness forms of their former self. Still showing signs of intelligence , they seem animalistic , attacking in herds , stalking , prowling , being territorial . Many new era zombie trays are include in this story , intelligences, speed , beyond human abilities , hunting in packs , mutations etc.
Another element of the stories , are a family of psychopaths that try take over the city in it state. The family is somewhat a cult slash private army .
Many have said , this reminds them of the video games left for dead and dead island , which is two the inspirations for it .
You can find sample chapters and the full books on here.
Kellie's DiaryA series of diary entries through the eyes of a little girl as she tries to survive the end of the world.

I like zombie books that have something different to offer… The last one I read had real Caribbean flair, with zombies created through voodoo. It was pretty realistic. The author really captured the island way of life, including a lot of folk lore and a bunch of insane guys that haphazardly try to deal with zombies. “Right now I am alive, and life is beautiful, but that isn’t meant to last. This is my time to fly, it’s meant to be like a shooting star. Painfully bright and amazingly beautiful, but brief. That is how it’s supposed to be. I think real courage lies in facing both life and death without fear.”https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
Tessa wrote: "Ok - I finished World War Z last summer and LOVED it. What zombie book would be a good second foray into zombie books? I want a scary book about the undead :) Any ideas?"Hey Tessa or anyone else for that matter- Have you read the series by Z.A. Recht? It was a pretty fun and entertaining read IMO.
I ask because I have a series published through Severed Press (two books with the third due at the end of this year) that has been compared to his (although not the same geographical scale that his crosses continents). Mine starts off pre-chaos, but goes to hell pretty quick lol. Obviously I am biased but there are some fun action sequences and interesting/clever plot twists and in book two all hell breaks loose and lingering questions get answered.
The Longest Road and sequel
The ChangeAlso, a fellow Severed Press author S. Johnathan Davis has his first book out and is working on the sequel.
Hope that helps!
I have a new Zombie book series, Downfall. The first one is now available on amazon.
Here is the link - http://www.amazon.com/Downfall-1-eboo...
Quick description: From the creators of Kellie's Diary...
The Downfall Is Coming.
This series chronicles the final moments of so-called "survivors" at the end of their current life and the beginning of another.
Do you remember the day you died?
I'd like to suggest my new novel 'Vegan Zombie Apocalypse.' Why?
I humbly assure you that it's different from any other Zombie book you've EVER read before.

Plot Summary:
In the post-apocalypse worlderness, zombies rule. Allergic to meat, zombies eat blood potatoes grown in the flesh of humancows.
The necros, barbaric human nomads living in floating villages, worship the zombies. They eat the zombies, wear clothes made from them, and keep zombies as sex slaves.
In this world Soil 15-f, an escaped womancow, meets Able Kane, former necros head food technician.
The zombies want Soil back and the necros want Able Kane dead.
Their only hope of escape is to climb the lemon tree to Haeven, home of the zombie god Necro, the one place they should never be.
P.S. Storm Warning: this is a VERY violent/EXTREMELY sexually graphic/ rather sick? tome--Seriously not for the innocent.
Tis great fun tho!
The Ragnarok Rising Saga is worth reading! A corrections officer discovers that the safest place to be during the zombie apocalypse is in jail!BTW, I write the Sovereign Spirit Saga, a zombie series set mostly aboard a ship off the coast of California. :)
Voyage of the Dead
Flotilla of the Dead
Deluge of the Dead
Jonathan wrote: "My zombie novel, PATIENT ZERO, will be released by St Martins Press on March 3. It's been getting pretty encouraging reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, Rue Morue, etc., and support from Joe L..."Halfway through it, but I had to return it to the library because I won't be able to visit it for two weeks. I'm loving it, can't wait to get ahold of it again and finish it!!!

I'd like to think that APEX, written by Glyn Gardner (me) is a good read. It's non-stop zombie action. Think Walking Dead meets Blackhawk Down.Check it out on Amazon, B&N, or Athorhouse.com. I bet you like it.
The first two books in my Zombie trilogy are for sale and I'm working on the third and final one in the series which should hopefully be up by December of this year.http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos...
