I would be trying to get my hands on The Walking Dead graphic novels, but my library website is acting up and I can't access the catalogue. Grr. Also need to get the next volumes of Sailor Moon (just finished vol 4).

I am finishing Suck it up and die and currently reading Masque of the Red Death....and in manga I am reading xxx Holic

Yotsuba&! is great stuff. One of my favorite manga series.
Been on a reading kick lately during my commute to work and gotten through a ton of stuff. Next up for graphic novels is I Kill Giants, prose is a recently rereleased early novel I've never read from my favorite author (Tim Zahn), and manga is Pluto.
Also, having recently been introduced to Cross Game by friends and devouring the first seven double volumes, I absolutely can't wait for the final one. I really don't even like baseball and I still love the series!
I just finished The Kitchen Daughter a few days ago. It was pretty good. I also started Centaur no Nayami(which doesn't have a Goodreads page. I may have to make one myself). I've only read two chapters, but I really like it so far!

Boy Princess is one of my favorite series. I own all 9 volumes. It was confusing the first time I read it, but I also started with volume 5, so that could have something to do with it...

I have read the first three volumes. And I already have volumes 5-9, but I am missing number four. I just ordered it, so as soon as it arrives I can finish the series. I like it a lot. It is probably going to end up in my favs too, but I will finish reading it and get to the end before I make that decision.

I'm reading Skip Beat (currently reading volume 10), Kimi Ni Todoke (Finally found volume 9!), Black Cat (volume 1) and Otomen (Volume 13. I'm not really keen on this series, I find it to mushy.)

Ash wrote: "I want to read those books so bad its killing me? How great are they? "I thought Sand Chronicles was pretty good. It has loads of drama, so if you like that kind of things, then you'll love it. Kinda sad sometimes, too. But there are a lot of good characters and it ends fairly well. Wednesday hasn't been online for a while, but I know that she really liked it.

xxxHolic was pretty meh for me, but I know that most people disagree. I'm not a huge fan of CLAMP: the only thing of theirs that I really liked was Cardcaptor Sakura. If you like CLAMP, you would probably like this too. There are a lot of references to their other series that a fan would appreciate.
I have 4 omnibuses of Cardcaptor Sakura, which means I have about 12 volumes altogether. Does anyone know if I should be looking for other volumes beyond that? I'm really not sure.

Is anyone else doing the reading challenge for this year? I said I could read 100 books within the year. I've read 25 so far. I'm so proud of myself!

I'm doing the reading challenge, and I think I also put 100 books, but so far, I have read 20 books. School is time-draining! :)

Some might think I cheated because I even read kids books, but to me they are still books. I read them. It should count. What do you guys thing? Does it count to read kids books?
What do you mean by kids books? If its still a novel or has a plot and isn't that simple, I guess it's still okay. Because yes, they are still books. However, if it's a picture book, you could, as long as you don't read too many or something.

I say books are books are books. Just make sure your reading challenge reflects that you're reading short as well as long books. Don't be, "I'm gonna read 10 books" and then read all 50-page books unless that's really all you can read in the time period.

The whole point of a challenge is that it's challenging ;) If I know that I'm going to be reading a lot of books that are easy or short, I make my challenge longer.
On another note, I'm reading the first of the Chrestomanci Chronicles by Diana Wynne Jones. I'm about 3/4 of the way through. I love the writing style, though I think the story itself is a bit boring. It feels like I'm only just getting started(I have a feeling that is actually the case).
Currently reading Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun found it at my bookstore, looked interesting. Also reading 図書館内乱 the first book was good! I have yet to check out the manga for it though.

Dianna Wynne Jones's works tend to be very understated (which is why I love them). Hers are a delightful stroll through a magic land with a jaded tour guide, which just makes it more fun.

Well they are beginners books both level one and two. I preview all books I get for my kids to be sure there is nothing that goes against my beliefs. They had plot lines and most were not goofy rhyming stories. I have also read several no way they aren't adult type books. At least 3 romance novels, at least 2 mental health type books. So yeah, quite a variety. I don't plan on reading tons of kids books like those, I just happened to get some and read through them. Felt it was honest to record that I read them ^_^ Thanks guys :)

Pixie Tricks was my favorite in kindergarten and my brother's was Magic Tree House. Not sure what "level one and two" means (since I was kinda far ahead of my peers...), but if you're looking younger than that, Madeline and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom were also favorites. :)

Level one and two are ratings b the publishers at Scholastic that rate the difficulty level for reading that book. They are for preschool to kindergartners. My kids are 11, 8, and 5. That's why I get these books. They are still young and any practice they get at reading is good for them. They also get Magic tree house books when I can find them. My oldest is collecting this series about cats...the warriors or something like that.

I've heard of that one. A lot of people keep telling me to read them because I like cats. Or at least, a vocal few, lol.
The Fairy-Tale Detectives is a good one too, and if they liked Rise of the Guardians, Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King is pretty good too.
(and yes, I'm the geek who still reads younger/middle grade stuff occasionally. If it's done well, it's a great quick read ^^;;;)

Oh, I've read Warriors! It's a long series...there's like 5 branch-series under it, each with 6 books, except that the 5th branch is new so it currently only has two books under it. Warriors also has special edition, guides, manga, and eBook-only books. The six authors that reside in the name of "Erin Hunter" also work on the Survivors series and the Seekers series.
