Thanks for all the warm welcomes..im glad to join this group. cheers! :)
Hi! My name is Janice and I love history, historical fiction, and biography/genealogy among other things. I think I have learned more about history by researching my own genealogy than by any history class. I like reading the stories of people in different times and finding out what daily life was like. The most recent book I read was "The Biggest Brother: The Life of Major Dick Winters" by Larry Alexander.
I look forward to finding other good books to explore here.

As you get started, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. You got the cover right, but need to add the author links as well. This is how the books you've mentioned should look:

Feel free to post requests for book recommendations either in the threads relating to the desired topic, or in the general I Am Looking For a Book On thread:

Also I read both Historical and Historical Fiction on the same topics (I like to make the comparisons).
I'll try to keep up with everyone and follow the guidelines!

Reading both historical fiction and nonfiction on the same topics is really educational. We like to discuss the nonfictional aspects in our historical fiction reads, so that would be a big plus whenever you join is in those.
Whatever reads and discussions you choose to join in, I hope you have fun!
