SOLVED. YA or tween books girl rides carousel horse into past to try and right wrongs [s]

I read two of these as a kid. In one the girl lives in a B&B and there is a cursed room where bad things keep happening. to stop a woman dying she must go back in the past, visiting all the awful things that happened in this room to find the cause. she goes back in time via a carousel horse that rides through the mist. she inhabits other's bodies in the past. I can't remember what the other was, will post if i remember.

Approximately what year did you read them? I found this: Falcon and the Carousel of Time, by Luli Gray, but I'm not sure, apart from the title, whether it has anything to do with a carousel horse. It is part of a series.

I saw a couple of other titles that did have to do with carousels for sure, but involved time travel to the future, not the past.

No, that isn't the one. Maybe it didn't have a carousel in the title or it merely referred to the carousel horse as a horse?

Maybe it was something like the seeker or some other word describing the main character?

I can't remember how old I was when I read it, I think I used to read above my technical reading level, but it was definitely pre high school. I would guess it was 95, 96 maybe? Then again, maybe 97 or 98. Sorry I can't be sure.

A book involving carousels and time travel is Where Have You Been, Billy Boy by Monica Hughes, but the description on Goodreads leaves something to be desired.

A vague summery is: Boy from early 1900's travels to 1990 on Carousal, then must get back to early 1900's. I think a girl helps him in the 1990's.

Doesn't sound too much like your book, but it does have time travel and carousals so I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks for the suggestion, it doesn't sound like my one, I don't think there were any boys in it. Or at least, not as main characters. It does sound interesting, though.

Longshot, but perhaps The Horsemaster? It matches your details only vaguely: A girl travels through time on the back of a horse that stepped out of a tapestry.

The closest match I could find was "The Carousel Horse" but it looked like a self-published book. There's Ride A Wild Horse and The Best Kept Secret but neither really match your description.

You mentioned that you read two of the book you are trying to remember. Was this a series and do you remember other books of it if so?

I don't know a book with the description you gave, sorry to say. But you said you read two books like this, both with a time carousal, I'm assuming? Because "The Thief Lord" by Cornelia Funke has a time altering carousal in it, one that makes time go forward or backward, aging or giving youth to whoever rides it. Though it might not be the book you're looking for because there are young boys as the main characters - but it does switch between them and an older character's viewpoint throughout the storyline, so I thought I'd mention it.
