Okay.
I won this one through goodreads and am long overdue to read it.
This is getting me through my workouts at the gym. :)
Who wants to read realistic YA fiction w. lgbt theme?I recommend
. Its a nice, heart warming story of two teenage girls. I read it several days ago and I was touch. I'll be reading
next week and would finish
at the same time frame.
I think you would like nightwatchers :) so get reading girl lol the first one was pretty hood and so far the second is turning out to be just as entertaining.
Still reading
. On the agenda for the week is finishing the Dresden files and trying to finish up the Spook's Apprentice series. I might find a few more that distracts me in the process of finishing those though.
Currently I'm halfway through Swan Song and so far I'm absolutely loving it. The whole thing just gives me chills and is as disturbing as I want a post apocalyptic horror novel to be.I have another of his books, but I'm not sure if I want to start that next or go for one of the others that have recently been calling to me.

I just finishes that a week ago. I loved it. I have "Mine" and "Boy's Life" by McCammon waiting for me. I've heard amazing things about boy's life.
Currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee while I wait for The Twelve by Justin Cronin to come in.

I can't put it down.
I actually read the first few pages of "Boy's Life" in the bookstore before I decided on Swan Song instead. Both of them gripped me instantly. It was the apocalypse theme that won me over. I also have "Speaks the Nightbird" which I guess is actually three books gathered into one? I just really love his way of writing.

Thought I'd read Beautiful Creatures before the movie came out. I have to say, I'm finding it so-so at the moment, even though so many of my friends raved about it.
Just started Awaken. Interesting concept. I'm enjoying it so far.Vortex was great. I can't wait for the next installment.
I started Oliver Twist
in the hope I might end up joining in with the group, A Year of Dickens, but I've been in comic book reading mode so I was constantly pulled away from it, even though I was very much enjoying it. Comics I've been reading are some funky 70's DC-- Kamandi, Rima the Jungle Girl (based on the character from Green Mansions by W. H. Hudson
) and some bronze age Wonder Woman in addition to the current stuff I buy. I'm also 2/3 finished reading Salvage and Demolition by Tim Powers. I won't bother to link to the cover because they don't have art yet. I'll be shifting to Bleak House
now to read it with a different group.
Marie wrote: "Beautiful Creatures is such a hot item right now!!!!"Haha it's because the movie will be out soon (the 14th) and it was actually a good book! At least IMO.

That's why I read it lol
I had a love/hate relationship with it but I'm looking forward to the movie :) Even managed to con the hubby into going lol

Can't wait to get that email from the book depository telling me my copy of the latest one has been shipped. Then I'll drive my hubby nuts while I wait lol
Mostly 1 character except for a tiny smidge towards the end. I had a love/hate relationship with the book. Loved the idea & difference of the story being from a male perspective but took awhile to get moving for me. I also think there were parts that could have been told in half the number of pages & that's what I didn't enjoy. I love long books, but I like the pace to keep moving.
Finished
- A fun 3.5 star read. Just starting
- the movie trailer looks great, and the book normally tends to be better than the movie. :)
Reading The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova. Its pretty good but I read her other book The Historian and liked that one much better.
I'm reading better off dead in deadwood. Book #4 of the deadwood series by Anne Charles. Fantastic series. Book #4 releases Friday. I have an advanced copy.
Currently reading
for the apocalypse challenge and
- although I'm having a hard time getting into it.

like to read it before checking out the movie, looks good. Finishing up
"Yes, you MUST read the book before you see the movie because that awful, AWFUL movie will ruin the book for you if you see it first. I am in LOVE with the book and the movie was just horrible. The ending is just like, "WHAT THE WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!????" *as credits roll, and director and screenwriter's name appears on screen I scream and yell that I am going to murder him and get odd looks from other moviegoers* And I was just about ready to go burn all of the movie posters and my friend and I were planning to go take all of the DVDs off of the shelf when it comes out and throw them in trash in a frenzy, touting the original Beautiful Creatures cover art on our books and waving them in the air to ward odd the evil of the movie and proclaiming the truth. Yep.
Wow... it was that bad lol the previews make it look very appealing. Well, so far I like the book and didn't know it was from Ethans p.o.v.!
It is really such an amazing story. I'm a big history nerd so that's what put it over the top for me as one of my favs! There was just so much crap in the movie that didn't make any sense and looked like it was the product of someone's high imagination. My friends and I were making fun of it at times because it was just so stupid!!

I really liked the Witch's Daughter. I liked the way it was written, I enjoyed reading it. After reading it I can understand why some people may not like it. If you do read it I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
