Hi all, first post here and I'm going crazy trying to remember the name of this book. It's a young adult/teen book that was written somewhere between the 80s or maybe early 90s, features twins, a boy and a girl, who travel to another dimension from their normal lives. I think it's fantasy - I think it might've been stand alone (not in a series, but don't quote me on that), but I can't think of the name of the book or the author. That's all I can recall at the moment. If I think of anything more specific, I'll let you know.

That reminds me of Virginia Hamilton's series that begins with Justice and Her Brothers. It's definitely YA fantasy with interdimensional travel. The main character is a girl and her two brothers are twins, so it's not a twin boy and girl; however, worth suggesting!

Thank you for the suggestion, though :)

Natalie wrote: "A Wrinkle in Time maybe?"I've read "A Wrinkle in Time" as well, and that's not it either. There are twins in that series, but they're both boys (Sandy and Dennys) - not a boy/girl as I mentioned. Thanks for the help regardless, Natalie. :)
Here are probably a few more details that might help - the twins are blonde, the book may've been written in the 80s, and there's a mention of something called either "the third or fourth dimension", but don't quote me on that exactly. That's all I can recall. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Tanya wrote: "longshot... but Escape to Witch Mountain?"No, but that's a good guess, Tanya - thank you. I haven't read "Escape to Witch Mountain" in a long time, but I'm positive it wasn't that.
Earth Times Two has a boy and girl who pass for twins because they are actually versions of the same person from different dimensions. They have to save one of the dimensions from an evil scientist. However, I think it was written in the 70's

Thanks for your help regardless, Clackamas. :)
 1. The Owlstone Crown by X. J. Kennedy
      1. The Owlstone Crown by X. J. KennedyOrphans Timothy and Verity (twins) are cruelly treated by their foster parents before escaping to another world where they are caught up in a struggle against a despicable tyrant and his wicked ally.
2. The Eagle As Wide As the World by X. J. Kennedy
Continues the fantastic adventures of the twins Timothy and Verity as they attempt to rescue their half-brother and save their land from a swarm of killer bees.

This book has identical boy twins who time travel. It's by the same author as A Wrinkle in Time, and features the brothers of Meg and Charles: Many Waters

Lobstergirl wrote: "Rose, are you still looking for this? Was it anything suggested in 2013?"Still looking for it. :( None of the books suggested matched the one I'm looking for. And the only time period I can think the book was released was sometime in the 80s or early 90s. I wish I knew more.
I read the book you are looking for! But I can't find it or remember the name :( I have been searching online and came across this... The Boy Who Reversed Himself by William Sleator. Is this it?! Please tell me it is, my memory is terrible but I remember reading the book you are talking about in junior high and loving it!

The Boy Who Reversed Himself for Crystal's clicks.
The Boy Who Reversed Himself for Crystal's clicks. The Owlstone Crown and The Eagle as Wide as the World for bookel's clicks.
Earth Times Two for Clackamas' clicks.
I'm going to suggest perhaps something by Diana Wynne Jones in her Chrestomanci series, (#1 being Charmed Life.
The Raven Queen has twins that go on a trip to another dimension. It is part of The Voyage of The Basset series.

(For some reason I kept thinking they were twins, but the old cover edition jogged my memory).
 Hi Rose!
Hi Rose!I believe the book you’re looking for is part of a 6 book set.
Starts out with the girl working in a coffee shop and the boy in an old bookstore across the street.
They end up finding out that they are twins of destiny and throughout the series come across other magical people who train them in their calling. The girl is silver and the boy is gold. They are hiding out from those who would destroy them to keep their combined destiny from becoming a reality.
I have read the series and am now looking for a replacement copy of the six books.
I can’t remember the names nor the author. If you ever find out, please let me know!!
