I started Fragile Eternity last night, right after finishing up Ink Exchange. I'm loving the world Marr has created. So dark and twisted, but intertwined with aspects of real beauty and love. I don't know if Fragile Eternity will resolve any of the relationships from Ink Exchange, but I hope so. Even if it doesn't, so far I'm getting a lot of both Seth and Niall, so I'm happy. =D

I just finished Inner Harbor by Nora Roberts, now I'm either going to read Angel of Mercy by Toni Andrews or Double Vision by Fiona BrandI have so many books to read in May that I'm having trouble picking out which ones to read!

I've already watched the movie. I thought it was pretty good. In my opinion, movies are hardly ever as good as the books they are based on.
So far this month I've finished up Fragile Eternity and The Awakening. The latter left me in the mood for more Otherworld tales, so I'm now reading Industrial Magic and have read the first story in Men of the Otherworld. The anthology is to solve my Clay craving while I work through the series to get to Broken. ;)
i am so mad lol city of ashes in the middle of it and i dont want to read it any more it made me want to go blow up something i am so mad
Ooh, I don't want to know, Frigidfingers. I just bought that series and have it on my to read list for this month. I've heard nothing but good things, so no spoilers, please! LOL
Must be a love it or hate it type series. I read the first one and didn't like it. I decided not to continue because I didn't like the writing style or the plot. Then again, like DarkHeart said, I've heard lots of good reviews, too.
Just finished the audio book of Prince Of Twilight. It was really bad. Granted, its book 12 in the series and I haven't read the others, so maybe I'm just missing some of the magic or whatever. But, it was bad. The characters and their actions were just totally illogical, and I'm willing to beleive that people will do some pretty illogical things when love's involved. I just couldn't wrap my mind around it all. I will say that the narrator was excellent. I would definatley listen to more of his books, just not these ones.
Just finished Chesapeake Blue.. and now....DEAD AND GONE, DEAD AND GONE!! lol. after all my whining, I ended up buying the damn hardcover anyway. It was haunting me when I went into BN. I just had to get it.
I'm getting ready to read "Into the Shadow" by Christina Dodd. Does anyone know if it's important to read the 1st 2 books in the series? I found this one for sale at my local library for 50 cents!

I'm reading Witchling by Yasmine Galenorn. It's been on my TBR list for a while now. I'm really enjoying it. I like the relationship between the sisters and there are some interesting characters...Smokey the dragon.
Lily wrote: "I really enjoy that series by Galenorn. Lots of great men. Sisters are good too. "I agree about the men and I've just read the first book. I'm looking forward to seeing what other characters are in the next books.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that liked the Galenorn books. Witchling was a book of the month in one of the groups a couple of months ago, and I've never seen a book so universally disliked. The series isn't a favorite of mine, but I've read the first two books and I enjoyed them. I've got the third book as well, and will get around to reading it one of these days.
Huh. I have read the whole series and no its not on my top 5 series list, it is witty and fresh and with charicters I enjoy revisiting. Its not just like everything else, and the fact the author seems to have written a lot on wiccan stuff reallife makes reading her created world a little more interesting. I just love the covers too. Did I mention I really like the guys?
I'm currently reading Exit Strategy by Kelley Armstrong...Read Dead & Gone Tuesday night... who needs sleep?
On my TBR shelf is the next (two next?) Galenorn books and one of her tea-cozy mysteries.

i'm reading Dream Chaser nealry at the end now::next read will be Ink Exchange:: i loved Wicked Lovely :: the romance between Seth and Ash simmered away in a very sexy way::
I'm currently debating between reading Crazy Kisses, Red Headed Step Child, Uglies, Deathwish.Too many books!! and not enough time.
I'm currently reading Dancing with Werewolves by Carole Nelson Douglas. So far I find myself not following the heroine's internal dialogue. A little confusing and jumpy. I really want to like this book but as of right now can't really sink my teeth into it.

i'm no good with too many books::can't multi-task (uuuurgh how i hate that word)either lol::at the moment i'm reading Ink Exchange::and have two Emma Hollys that i've started but in no way near to finishing::
Just finished Wondrous Strange and was disappointed that I didn't love it like everyone else. Lesley Livingston is no Melissa Marr, IMHO. Then immediately jumped into City of Bones. I've only read the first chapter so far, but it's got me hooked. Unfortunately, if I ever want to go and finish my degree, I have to go and do some course work for a bit.
Just finished Magic Strikes, Loved it! Now starting Dead and Gone. Abandoned Strange Angels by St. Crow. I just could not finish it.
Darkheart---I have heard about City of Bones. It is on my tbr list. I'll definitely be waiting to hear your thoughts on it. I bought Crimson City at a yardsale the other day, but I haven't started it. I'll probably tackle that next week sometime. Right now working through Dancing With Werewolves
I finally finished Dead and Gone and Lover Avenged. Both of which were just excellent, as I expected them to be. Now, I am seriously going to concentrate on school.
Just finished Curse the Dawn by Karen Chance. Good Series. Just starting Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand by Carrie Vaughn.
Hi, new to the boards. I am reading Larissa Ione, book 2 Demonica, forget the name, but the first was great. I am a huge JR Ward fan and I was dying to find a author that is as witty and character based as her, Larissa is very close... anybody else?
Finished Skeleton Crew. Now starting Just After Sunset, the newest collection of short stories from Stephen King. It's pretty good so far.

I am a huge fan of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton and the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison. They both are pretty witty. I'm going to go check out your book shelves. I'm currently reading Kelly Armstrong, but I don't recommend her for witty and great characters. She has okay characters and a decent story that isn't completely out there, but she's not amazing in my opinion.

BEST SERIES for paranormal romance, she takes you into their world...
I will try it out. I'm not into the Paranormal Romance really though. I like the Urban Fantasy. I just learned the difference last night, but its nice to finally be able to accurately say what I like without going into details. If you like the Paranoamal Romance then stay with the Anita Blake series. It doesn't start out with a lot of sex, but four or five books in and you'll be getting your socks knocked off.
Actually LKH's Anita Blake series is a good example of an Urban Fantasy series, not PNR at all.PNR or paranormal romance is more defined by the clear HEA or Happily Ever After at the end of the book.
Differentiating Urban Fantasy (with romance) and PNR has always been difficult for me too. But I'm pretty sure that PNR is focuses on a single relationship as well as the Happily Ever After (HEA).
And what about Sunny or Black Jewel Trilogy (forgot author)or the Kushel's Dart series. I really have difficulty telling whats what.
Lily wrote: "So what is later Anita Blake? Parnormal Erotica? :-)"Never having read the Anita Blake books, you'll have to take my opinion with a grain of salt. But I have read 3 of the Merry Gentry books, so if they're similar...
I think they're just straight urban fantasy with a lot of sex. From what I understand, erotica is more defined as having lots of sex, BUT those sex scenes have to have explicit terminology, not euphemisms. If she's using flowery language and not explicit words, then it's not erotica. It's still just urban fantasy, with more sex than most.
(I would give examples, but I'm not sure if *everyone* reading this thread would feel comfortable with it. But think anatomically correct terminology, and also sort-of crude slang terms, many of which begin with the letter C. Or perhaps P.)
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/9...I don't know if this will help, but some people in the group had a discussion awhile ago about the differences between PNR and Uf, just go to the link above and it will bring you to the thread.

I agree with Nichole here. Anita Blake is definitely urban fantasy that just happens to have a lot of sex.

Yea I agree. I didn't mean that it was Paranormal Romance, but just that if you were reading a book for lots of sex with some good interaction relationship stuff Anita Blake has plenty of that. I don't want to give anything away so I can't be very descriptive, but lets just say you better not think the Twilight books have lots of sex in them if you're going to read Anita Blake. Ha ha... You'd be scared for life if you did.
Another way to explain it is my father told me to stop reading at the fourth or fifth book before it got to bad and our relationship has been slightly 'irritated' ever since I finished the series. He looks at me funny if we bring up the topic and has a hard time dealing with it since I'm his sweet little girl.
I love the Anita Blake books. And so far, everything else I've ready by LKH. The Merry Gentry books are really good, too. I'm eagerly awaiting Skin Trade (and Divine Misdemeanors too) The sex gets progressively steamier in every book (in both series). I can't help but wonder what's coming next.
Erin, I'll throw another recommendation up for the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Strictly speaking, it's PNR but it has realy strong UF elements, especially as the series progresses. I prefer UF to PNR myself, but this remains my favorite series.
DarkHeart I have Dad on it! He is my book source and he gets all of them from paperback swap and another one of those swapping sites. Actually its my one problem with most of these groups because so often everyone wants to discuss the newest thing out and I don't get it until the first rush is all done.
