ImScared3222 Where do you usually read?

message 2: by Sadie (new)

Sadie Forsythe Curled up in the corner of my couch normally. If the weather permits, I love reading outside. Not so much in the bathtub, though. I have always liked the idea of it, but have never managed it without ruining the book.

I should have clarified. I didn't mean while you took a bath, just in the bathtub. I've noticed that the most quiet spot in my house is in the bathroom and when I want some quiet time to read, I always sit in my bathtub. Recently, I've discovered that others like to do this too.

Amy B (amydawn96) I like to read outside. We recently added a porch to our house, so I've been sitting in my porch swing.

Katie Gianelli (katie094) | 23 comments I read in the tub all the time. It's the only place I can ever just be by myself uninterupted. I use bubble bath and light a candle so I can dim the lights and still be able to see. I try to do it a couple times a week, it's my "me" time and nothing else relaxes me more

Ah, not so much then. I find an empty tub intensely uncomfortable.

Lauren (lauren0924) | 51 comments I love reading in the tub (one that has water in it :). At the house I live in now, I don't really get to, but growing up, I did all the time. I would read The Baby-Sitter's Club books and I would start and finish one by the time I got out.

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Well it's kind of hard on my Kindle....I do listen to audio book and use the text to speach feature on my kindle but the risk of actual submersion is kind of high for me to expose my kindle in that manner.

I agree, I would be so scared to take a Kindle into the bathtub. I've never actually dropped a book but I wouldn't even risk it with a Kindle

I'll read anywhere. On a bus, in a car, at a tram stop, at uni. But my favourite place to read is curled up on my bed. I especially love it when the sun shines in through the window and warms everything. I also don't mind going outside when it is warm and reading by the pool or on the grass. I generally use warm days for sports playing though. Can't say that I read in the bath because I generally use the shower haha.

R.J. Askew (rjaskew) | 31 comments I like to write in a certain cafe, and on trains into London. I wld prefer to be reading, always, but the damn writing takes over. It is a problem. But knowing how and where people read is important for writers. So I confess I am spying on you all!

message 15: by Amy B (new)

Amy B (amydawn96) I will also read anywhere. My husband and I went to a college football game a few months ago and there was a bad lightning/thunderstorm and everyone had to move under the bleachers in the "concourse" area. I leaned up against a pillar and read until the game restarted, lol.

I just put mine in a ziplock bag. The touch screen still works and it's pretty water tight.

message 18: by Sam (new)

Sam (sam222) I don't take baths so I don't really read in the tub. Where I do read I read at night in bed, I also read in the living room every now and then, And I really like reading outside when it's really nice out.

message 19: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Reading outdoors in the sun is the best, as long as you find that perfect spot of illumination without the sun glaring in your eyes.

message 20: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (cre3pyspice) Yeah i have a nook and i know i would drop it if i read in the tub! Lol. I once dropped the camera into the otter exhibit at the zoo. I drop and spill stuff all the time, infact i sometimes cause others to drop and spill their things. Im cursed :) lol

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) I read anywhere and at anytime! I read on my night shifts if the patient is sleeping to keep awake, in bed whether its the morning or night. I love reading in cafes, my fave is 918 in town.

I love reading outdoors and often read in the local cemetary! I even have an audio book in the car as I drive - no matter how short or long the journey. My kindle or Sony go everywhere with me and I read that in queues at the supermarket, waiting for appointments.

At home I have my own library read on my sofa or I sit in the conservatory next to the library. I also have audio books on at home when doing housework or on the laptop going through the GR posts!

Listening to The Stand by Stephen King as I type!
