Yes, without realizing it, I read a book that fit # 4 -4. Read a book where the protagonist is a father or will become a father in the book.
I've read two more books, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, which was nice, and A Vineyard in Tuscany, which was AWESOME.
Happy Father's Day to all people who celebrate this today (I didn't even know that. Learned it on Goodreads.)
I have two for this challenge now that I finished
.SilverRaindrops, I wouldn´t have know about it either if it wasn´t for Goodreads. In Finland father´s day is in November :)

I just finished Townie by Andre Dubus III and as I finished it realized it was really a book about the writer's father. The lack of his father growing up, the search for meaning in his life, and his struggle to turn away from violence. So I actually read a total of three books that fir the June challenge.
Barbara wrote: "I just finished Townie by Andre Dubus III and as I finished it realized it was really a book about the writer's father. The lack of his father growing up, the search for meaning in his life, and hi..."Alright Barbara, I got you updated.
How was the read? It seems like a real struggle to get through all that.
I picked up the book Townie at the summer members' sale at my local independent bookstore. I am a New Englander by roots and lived in Massachusetts for 20 years in Boston. I am Familiar with the old mill towns, and when I was young knew some guys from the kind of background the author writes about. In the middle of the book, I was getting a bit fed up with all of the fighting, but then the author started to pull out of that life style, and try to understand himself. By the end, I found it to be a pretty profound and satisfying read about fathers, sons, poverty, creativity (father and son are writers), and violence.
I can see why you pulled through the hard bit in the middle when you're from the area. It must be very interesting to read something new about a place and community you know so well.
I read Angel Falls by Kristin Hannah finishing today. I give it 3/5. it was very predictable and I felt I didn't have to read the last few chapters. I've read 2 books out of 3 I challenged myself to but I thought I'd read more on vacation.
Finished!6. Read a book where the character must break a rule to achieve their goals: The Name of the Rose. The protagonists needed to break the Abbott's rule of not going into the library in order to solve the mystery.
COMPLETED: 5/5
Lorelei wrote: "I read Angel Falls by Kristin Hannah finishing today. I give it 3/5. it was very predictable and I felt I didn't have to read the last few chapters.
