The "I-Must-Not-Buy-Any-More-Books" Thread
No problem Allison, most of my books are used. I'm all for recycling. You don't have to muscle your way in Fiona, you're invited!
can I get some love too - Hubby has to get up at 3am for work so he has deserted me for Bedfordshire :0(
Of course Esther... We all have Stretch Armstrong arms, which are stretchy of course, so the more the merrier! :)
Fiona wrote: "I <3 you too! Although those hears look more like little butts."well, least I'm not calling you fat. :P
Fiona wrote: "I <3 you too! Although those hears look more like little butts."I'd be more than happy to have a little butt :0)

It's a long stretch so thank goodness it is virtual :0)
And I still have wine to consume so it is definitely going to get merrier
Did anybody have a Stretch Armstrong toy as a kid? He stretched like crazy, but when you poked him with a pin (as I obviously did;) he had red gunk inside him. I loved that guy!!!!
I did.. That was his blood! My brother tore the arms off my Stretch Armstrong and then chased me around with his bloody shoulder stump... And my brother's YOUNGER than me. The little turd!
I want everything on my TBR list. lol. Does that make it easy for you?I need to make an I own shelf though, so you can see what I have.
Becky, that's funny...nasty, but funny!

you should! I'm about to give away like 50 books :P if you want any of them they're yours.
I didn't actually tear him limb from limb, I was just a girl that wanted to know what made things tick. Or, in this case-stretch. He was a really cool toy! Him and the Bionic Man and Woman with the roll up skin so you could see thier Bionics. Kids toys aren't as cool anymore.
Jackie wrote: "I want in if there's wine! :D"Do you think I could IM you some?
I have an 'Mmmm' shelf as in 'Mmmm I'd like to buy that' :0)
LOL...Becky, I'm great at this book ban. You were like "hey we can support each other!"And I said "yes, great idea! Here, I'll send you 3 books :P"
Allison wrote: "you should! If you see anything on there I've read and you want it's yours. I'm pretty sure though you have way more than me. I donated 10 books this past weekend and most of the ones I have left I haven't read with the exception of the Twilight Series and Gemma Doyle Trilogy.
I would send you the couple of random Stephanie Plums I have, but that would be dumb because they're mainly a "read once from the library" thing. Most of the ones I'm giving away SUCK. My mom got them for me at some rummage sale for like $1 a sack.

That's OK! Because you are cleaning out your shelves, and I've recently sent off 3 books (although I've gained 2 and now have another 3 coming)... And, well. It's good all around, because we're not BUYING books... We're SHARING!
Who could ever turn down chocolate? I'm not sure about blasphemy, but certainly a rule breaker somewhere!
LOL...not turning down chocolate! Just...preferring a book ;)Fiona, I don't think I have anything chocolate at my house either :(
Just Miss Kandice's shortbread cookies!
OK...2 days, no book purchases! The only things getting me through are chocolate and English football!!
Me too. We'll just become Fiona clones. Did you like the shortbread. I forgot to tell you not ot mix it any longer than you have to or it gets tuff.
A guy in our office just bought a new stove, and to test the oven he made 15 dozen cookies. That's 180 cookies for those of us who are I just had a Oatmeal Butterscotch cookie, and it was delicious. I now need to tie myself to the chair to prevent massive consumption of the remaining 3 or 4 dozen cookies.
Allison wrote: "*groans* I LOOOOOOVE butterscotch, YUM!! You should eat another for me ;)"OK! I aim to please!

And umm.. stop twisting my arm! Ow! Owww! ;)
Mmm... More butterscotch. I'm gonna gain a gajillion pounds if I let you guys twist my arms into excessive cookie eating! (More excessive cookie eating, I mean.)
So the awesomest thing happened today! At my local Starbucks they have a community library where you're free to take or leave a book. I found a copy of The Art of Racing in the Rain, which is on my to-buy list, that is in VERY good condition. I took it. Yay!
Mine has that, in theory, but in reality there's never anything in the box anyone would want. I'm not all that picky as far as reading material goes, either.
I was POed with it earlier because, wouldn't you know, right after I ordered Franny and Zooey, after weeks of looking for it, I saw it in the community library.
Went into Chapters, Came out with two books.
But the catch is...
THEY WERE GIFTS.
Muahahhaaha. I'm so good at this. And I brought the giftcards!
