message 854: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) okay K...break it down for me...whats it going to take to lose the bird? How many books?

;)

message 855: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) No problem Allison, most of my books are used. I'm all for recycling.

You don't have to muscle your way in Fiona, you're invited!

message 856: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL, you know I <3 you Fiona :)

message 857: by Esther (last edited Mar 30, 2009 12:39PM) (new)

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments can I get some love too -

Hubby has to get up at 3am for work so he has deserted me for Bedfordshire :0(

message 858: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) everyone is included in the GR hug, we are all GRers!

message 859: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Of course Esther... We all have Stretch Armstrong arms, which are stretchy of course, so the more the merrier! :)

I'd be more than happy to have a little butt :0)

Becky wrote: "Of course Esther... We all have Stretch Armstrong arms, which are stretchy of course, so the more the merrier! :)"

It's a long stretch so thank goodness it is virtual :0)
And I still have wine to consume so it is definitely going to get merrier

message 862: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I want in if there's wine! :D

message 863: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) geez, this one needs a bribe.

message 864: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Did anybody have a Stretch Armstrong toy as a kid? He stretched like crazy, but when you poked him with a pin (as I obviously did;) he had red gunk inside him. I loved that guy!!!!

message 865: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Well I have books to give, but you seem to have that route covered.

message 866: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Hey :P make an "I want it" shelf and good things happen

message 867: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I did.. That was his blood! My brother tore the arms off my Stretch Armstrong and then chased me around with his bloody shoulder stump... And my brother's YOUNGER than me. The little turd!

message 868: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I want everything on my TBR list. lol. Does that make it easy for you?
I need to make an I own shelf though, so you can see what I have.

Becky, that's funny...nasty, but funny!

you should! I'm about to give away like 50 books :P if you want any of them they're yours.

message 870: by Becky (last edited Mar 30, 2009 12:51PM) (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Yeah, it's funny NOW... When I was 6 it wasn't as hilarious! LOL

message 871: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I didn't actually tear him limb from limb, I was just a girl that wanted to know what made things tick. Or, in this case-stretch. He was a really cool toy! Him and the Bionic Man and Woman with the roll up skin so you could see thier Bionics. Kids toys aren't as cool anymore.

Esther (eshchory) | 575 comments Jackie wrote: "I want in if there's wine! :D"

Do you think I could IM you some?

I have an 'Mmmm' shelf as in 'Mmmm I'd like to buy that' :0)

message 873: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL...Becky, I'm great at this book ban. You were like "hey we can support each other!"

And I said "yes, great idea! Here, I'll send you 3 books :P"

message 874: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) Allison wrote: "you should! I'm about to give away like 50 books :P if you want any of them they're yours."

Alrighty then, so when I get home I will start rummaging my shelves and put up an I own shelf. If you see anything on there I've read and you want it's yours. I'm pretty sure though you have way more than me. I donated 10 books this past weekend and most of the ones I have left I haven't read with the exception of the Twilight Series and Gemma Doyle Trilogy.

message 875: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) LOL...Allison is killing the competition.

message 876: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I would send you the couple of random Stephanie Plums I have, but that would be dumb because they're mainly a "read once from the library" thing.

Most of the ones I'm giving away SUCK. My mom got them for me at some rummage sale for like $1 a sack.

message 877: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) eh, I just like giving books away :) its fun!

That's OK! Because you are cleaning out your shelves, and I've recently sent off 3 books (although I've gained 2 and now have another 3 coming)... And, well. It's good all around, because we're not BUYING books... We're SHARING!

message 879: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Exactly! Even in pre-school, they promote sharing!!! Wish we were also sharing chocolate.

message 880: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Mmmm... Chocolate...

message 881: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) I'd rather have a book :)

message 882: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) That's... That's blasphemy! I'm sending you chocolate too. And that's final!

message 883: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Who could ever turn down chocolate? I'm not sure about blasphemy, but certainly a rule breaker somewhere!

message 884: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL...not turning down chocolate! Just...preferring a book ;)

Fiona, I don't think I have anything chocolate at my house either :(

Just Miss Kandice's shortbread cookies!

message 885: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (manchesterunited) OK...2 days, no book purchases! The only things getting me through are chocolate and English football!!

message 886: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) LOL..."can't be bothered" is another phrase I think I'll try to pick up. Love it when you say that.

message 887: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) Lord, isn't it 10 there? I couldn't be bothered to leave the house either then :P

message 888: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Me too. We'll just become Fiona clones. Did you like the shortbread. I forgot to tell you not ot mix it any longer than you have to or it gets tuff.

message 889: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) yep, they are good! :)

message 890: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) A guy in our office just bought a new stove, and to test the oven he made 15 dozen cookies. That's 180 cookies for those of us who are drooling counting.

I just had a Oatmeal Butterscotch cookie, and it was delicious. I now need to tie myself to the chair to prevent massive consumption of the remaining 3 or 4 dozen cookies.

message 891: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) *groans* I LOOOOOOVE butterscotch, YUM!! You should eat another for me ;)

message 892: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Allison wrote: "*groans* I LOOOOOOVE butterscotch, YUM!! You should eat another for me ;)"

And umm.. stop twisting my arm! Ow! Owww! ;)

message 894: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Mmm... More butterscotch. I'm gonna gain a gajillion pounds if I let you guys twist my arms into excessive cookie eating! (More excessive cookie eating, I mean.)

message 895: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker So the awesomest thing happened today! At my local Starbucks they have a community library where you're free to take or leave a book. I found a copy of The Art of Racing in the Rain, which is on my to-buy list, that is in VERY good condition. I took it. Yay!

message 896: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Ooh! That's cool! I wish my Starbucks would do something like that...

message 897: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Mine has that, in theory, but in reality there's never anything in the box anyone would want. I'm not all that picky as far as reading material goes, either.

message 898: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I was POed with it earlier because, wouldn't you know, right after I ordered Franny and Zooey, after weeks of looking for it, I saw it in the community library.

message 899: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Went into Chapters,

But the catch is...

THEY WERE GIFTS.

Muahahhaaha. I'm so good at this. And I brought the giftcards!
