I'm looking for a book about a person who can see dead people (preferably not romance), any suggestions?

Have you heard anything about Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children? It's a strange story about a boy who can visit a group of children who died during World War II.
The Summoning- Kelley Armstrong is a book about Chloe, a necromancer (someone who can raise and talk to the dead)...it has a little romance in it in the 2nd/3rd book, but it doesn't really focus on that. Just trying to think of suggestions for you :p
How about Breathe: A Ghost Story by Cliff McNish which is jr/hs level. But awesomely creepy! Also Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book, or Sonya Hartnet's The Ghost's Child.

I never read books that handle that time period (it's too hard of a topic for me personally) but the author blended reality and magic to form a world that was completely unique - and a bit funky. It is completely worth reading IMO and I found it very much a one of a kind novel. Ironically, I wish there were more like it.
Okay, this one is really old, and it is kind of a romance, but it is so good...
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
Scary Mary (I don't remember romance being a core element to the story line. It's a quick and good read.)
Frozen Fire Good book about a girl who's looking for her brother and ends up following a spirit who contacts her.
Dead Connection Not one of my top choices but it was interesting. MPOVs isn't really my thing.Neither has romance, if I remember correctly. Dead Connection I am least unsure about. Def not Frozen Fire.
In Anna Dressed in Blood the main character is a ghost hunter. There is a bit of romance but not the lovey dovey kind. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. It reminded me of the tv show Supernatural.

Break My Heart 1000 Times, by Daniel WatersA Certain Slant of Light, by Laura Whitcomb
The Name of the Star, by Maureen Johnson (and its sequel, The Madness Underneath)
The Shadow Society (sort of), by Marie Rutkowski
Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger
