I read Needful Things a long time ago when I was a Stephen King fan. I remember being not that impressed with Needful Things although the premise was interesting; creating needs and desires for things that are not necessarily good for us, and then making the characters absolutely have to have those things or behave in certain activities. Still wasn't that impressed. I was much more impressed with Clive Barker's The Great And Secret Show, even if it was a bit long.
Currently reading. I just love Hieronymous Bosch. He is like one of those detectives from the old Film Noir movies.
Just finished reading Pebble Cove By Mairead O'Driscoll and I just started The Death of Dalziel By Reginald Hill
I finished The People Next Door, I enjoyed it, it was a easy read I'm just about to start 3 books now they are as follows:1.
2.
3.
I have been wanting to read
for awhile now.I love snowbound stories.Just finishing
It's been really fun.I am slowly working my way through all of Kilborn and Crouch's books.
I just finished Boneman's Daughters by Ted Dekker and it was fantastic. A little horrific and I had to set it aside a couple of times but it's one of his best, that I have read anyway.
I have just finished One Day by David Nichols really enjoyed it, still currently reading Dark Matter By Michelle Paver and Personally, I blame my fairy godmother By Claudia Carroll
I haven't read any thrillers lately but I am almost finished with Radiant Shadows. I didn't realize how darn mean faries are.
Not usually one for true crime stories but just finished Capote's In Cold Blood. As a journalist, I'd been meaning to read it for years since it's always referred to as the classic example of the non-fiction novel. Though parts of it were slow, it definitely showed you the "true" side of crime drawing some real sympathy for the murder victims. As a side note, I was reporting on a boxing/martial arts event recently, being granted access to one of the gyms that had several fighters competing. I brought In Cold Blood with me to read when things got slow. But when one of the fighters showed up, I was sitting there reading it and realized this particular fighter was on parole for murder. I doubt he was familiar with the oeuvre of Capote's work but didn't want to take the chance on offending him and hid the book under my jacket.http://www.writingfighting.wordpress.com

I read Summer of Nights by Dan Simmons...11 years ago! And it's one of my favorite book! I'm so glad I bought the book when I found it in a booksale! A must have & good for re-reading it in the future!
Currently listening to The Road which was picked, by something I can't remember, as being one of the ten most disturbing books and I'm not seeing it. A man and a boy walk around for years in a world that is no longer suitable for humans. The whole book is walking around. I just don't think it is that disturbing.

I'm finished reading The Shoestring Club By Sarah Webb and The Caller By Karin Fossum and I'm still reading In The Springtime Of The Year By Susan Hill and I've started It Had To Be You By Sarah Webb
At the moment, an gem I found recommended by a friend. Bunker by J M Rawbone is blowing my mind. Reads like the love child of Stephen King and Aldous Huxley. Puts me in mind of Salems Lot and The Stand
Thanks Alex . Just picked up Bunker. I just finished Downtown Owl. Very quirky, original, all around good.
I like them a lot. They're excellent.
