Fiona (fionam) | 6 comments Currently reading Endurance

22% of the way through and this is the scariest thing I have read in ages - even making my heart speed up!!! Whew,,,,

Reminds me of X Files Season 4 epi 2 "Home" and that was soooo creepy,,,

Enjoy if you dare

Dana * (queenofegypt) I just finished The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler and I truly enjoyed it. Even with all the comparisons to the Millennium trilogy, it had its own voice.

I had some trouble with the time jumps at first, even though the chapter titles kept it all straight. But when I paid attention to the time changes, I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the plot was well executed and drew out nicely. there were a couple of alternate stories to keep you guessing.
Anyway, I really enjoyed it. I have heard mixed reviews. Anyone else here read it?

Excellent! I'm looking forward to reading Endurance soon, just finished Afraid and I couldn't put it down so figured a break between 'stress-tests' would be a good idea lol

ConstantReader76a | 1 comments Recently finished Ashes by Scott Nicholson , the first horror/thriller I've read in a while. It is an anthology of short stories and while I enjoyed it, I feel that a few of the stories were predictable and lacked oomph. Perhaps I've been spoiled by short stories written by Jeffrey Deaver, Stephen King and Dean Koontz that pack a hell of a punch!

aprilla I finished Endurance, it was audio and narrated by Christopher Lane. All I can really say is that this would probably have got a better rating from me in any other format (which I don't do) or perhaps with a different narrator. Others might appreciate Mr Lane's theatrics but I prefer a straight read.
I'm still looking forward to Trapped though.... wondering who narrates....

It's a good book so I hesitated writing that but it's how I felt... so check it for yourself... he has a really good reading voice, it's just at times it really did not suit my tastes!
If you do try it in audio let me know what you thought of it, I'm curious what others make of it :)
