I have to agree that Jennifer Ashley's Shifters Unbond series is pretty good. I've also read Nicky Charles and Carrie Ann Ryan's shifter/were series are good reads.
This might not be the most obvious werewolf type of book, but the Farseer and Tawny Man trilogies by Robin Hobb are by far my favorite novels and I'm a huge werewolf fan. These books are about the main character, FitzChilvalry Farseer, who is, for lack of a better word, soul mates with a wolf. He shares mind and body of a wolf named Nighteyes. Highly, highly recommended.
Trying to remember the title of a Werewolf book I read about 20 years ago, and simply can not remember the name of it... I remember it had "Moon" on the title but as for the title that is all I can recall. I do remember that it took place in a small town, couple of crazy farming brothers, out of town guy was of course the prime suspect in the murders... Don't recall much else except that it was an amazing read and have been wanting to read it again.. I know it's not much to go on but might someone have any clue as to what the title was? I loaned this book to a friend several years ago and it was "lost" when he moved.....
-My favorite werewolves are in Patricia Briggs two series (Mercedes Thompson and Alpha & Omega).
-I LOVE all the shifters in Shelly Laurenston's series (The Pride). The wolves, the lions.... hottest men ever!!
-Kresley Cole's Scottish Werewolves are also mega hot (Immortals After Dark) (The Mc Rieves!!)
-And Winter's Dawn (Age of Alphas) by Kele Moon had one of the best werewolf back stories ever (fated mates, but done really well).
- Knights of the Black Swan series has one of my favorite young werewolves ever (Glendennon Catch).

Recommend to you two I liked and read recently:
1.
: H was an ancient dragon shifter and h was a wolf shifter, great story!
2.
: H and h were cougar shifters. This story was refreshing cause they were friends with vampires. And the so-called werewolves in this story were shifters who were infected with viruses.
Both could be read as standalone!

My Wolf's Bane, Shifting Shadows, and Prince of Wolves are all really good werewolf books. Three of my favorites.
Riley Jensen series by Kerri Arthur is one of my favourite series has a little bit of everything.
Looks like 1/2 my recs have been posted, but if you like more of the paranormal (werewolves) erotic-ish/romance I think you'll like Lauren Dane. She's written a couple of were/shifter series that are similar to Nicky Charles. In fact, it's what lead me here :)
Cherchez Pack Series
Ascension (Cherchez Pack #1)
Fire and Rain (Cherchez Pack #2)
*unfortunately, these are it for the series. I kind of hoped she'd continue more, but I think she switched publishers.*
I didn't get a chance to read these yet but I've heard some good things.
Cascadia Wolves Series
Enforcer (Cascadia Wolves, #1)
Tri Mates (Cascadia Wolves, #2)
Reluctant (Cascadia Wolves, #3)
Wolf Unbound (Cascadia Wolves, #4)
Standoff (Cascadia Wolves, #5)
Fated (Cascadia Wolves, #6)
