Booktok discussion
Introduction
Hi Michael, thanks for the invite. My name is Shelleyrae and I blog about what I read at Book'd Out. I review a range of fiction, mainly genre, and at the moment, with a heavy emphasis on Australian Women Writers as part of the challenge I am participating in.
I live in Taree, New South Wales - I'm a wife, mother of four and work part time in graphic design and teaching. And I read a lot :)
Thanks for joining Shelleyrae, I really like your blog and I think you have to a lot to offer this group :)
Hi guys :) I'm Angelya and I write about Fantasy and Sci-fi books at The Oaken Bookcase. I live in Brisbane and have a one-year-old son... sadly I'm back at work full-time now, but somehow I find a bit of time for reading.I'm still pretty new at book blogging but gradually getting into the swing of it. I'm excited to be involved in an Aussie blogger group - nice to meet you!
Hi everyone. I'm Bree and I've been blogging over at href="http://1girl2manybooks.wordpress.com/... All The Books I Can Read for nearly two years. I read from most genres although like Shelleyrae this year I have focused quite a lot on Australian women writers. I live in Melbourne and I'm the mother to 2 boys who are 3.5 and 7 months. I'm looking forward to chatting with lots of other Aussie bloggers :)
Hi everyone,My name is Marg and I blog at Adventures of an Intrepid Reader. I have been blogging for about six and a half years. I read across lots of genres, including historical fiction, romance, young adult, spec fic and more!
I am also part of a group blog that focuses on historical fiction at Historical Tapestry.
Hi, guys. I'm Kat from Book Thingo. We mainly focus on romance fiction, but we do read/review outside the genre and blog about local book events when we can. Like Bree and Shelleyrae, I'm focusing on Aussie women writers this year, though perhaps that's not quite as big a challenge in romance fiction -- most of our authors are women!
Hi all,My name is Mark and I blog about mainly about speculative fiction (both reading and writing) at markwebb.name (subtitled Musing of a Wannabe Speculative Fiction Writer).
Like Shelleyrae, Bree and Kat I'm also involved in the Australian Women Writers 2012 Reading Challenge this year.
Fantastic idea to have a book bloggers group - thanks Michael.

Thanks Mark, I wanted a group more focused on Australian Bloggers. I'm sick of hearing about BEA and other book blogging conferences in America. I don't like missing out :PWelcome anyway
Thanks for the invite to join the group - I do recognise a few of your faces :)I have a blog called Books and Musings from Downunder http://sallyfromoz.wordpress.com/
I started it originally at the end of 2006 over on blogger just to keep track of what I was reading and was heavily into reviewing Mysteries for Pan Macmillan and Quercus publishers. Got stressed out about deadlines and my tastes widened outside being exclusively mystery, so dropped out of reviewing for publishers and just do it for myself now, and the occassional free book I score on Librarything (have never ever got a book through goodreads!!).
I have thought about putting my blog more out there - or maybe just limiting reviews to Australian authors rather than everyone - not sure. this year I am trying a review once a week format instead of for every book - but not sure I am happy with that either. Guess I am hoping this group will give me some good and/or different ideas :)
Anyhow - have waffled enough :)
Hi there, I've just joined this group. Nice to 'meet' you all.
My name is Jayne and my blog is The Australian Bookshelf
, where i've been blogging about books for the past 18 months or so. I too am involved in the AWW challenge.
I live in south-west Sydney.
Knowledge Lost wrote: "Welcome Jayne"Thanks KL (I'm assuming that's your nickname... it's been dropped around this group quite a bit!)
We will let you continue to think that. Lol in all seriousness it's a great concept and thanks for joining
What a great idea! I'm from Sydney and I blog at Belle's Bookshelf and like to read widely in theory, though tend to be drawn mostly to YA these days. I've been blogging for just over a year.
Welcome, I think your link is wrong, unless you are the one behind smart bitches (which would be awesome)
Knowledge Lost wrote: "Welcome, I think your link is wrong, unless you are the one behind smart bitches (which would be awesome)"d'oh yes, totally wrong, shall fix it - I wish! hehe
Hi Everyone. My name is Lisa and I'm an

I'm a Queenslander. ( GO MAROONS!!!) Currently unemployed, not married, no kids and I don't have a cat.
I have great hair ;)
How's that for an introduction? ( Most of you know me anyway...) :)
Hi EveryoneI'm Philippa and I'm another Qlder, there seem to be a lot of us - who knew QLD was such a scholarly state perhaps we are the smart state afterall :)
I started my book blog - Tea, Daydreams & Fairytales only a few short weeks ago (1/4/2012). This isn't the first time I've blogged I co-authored a gaming blog with my sister since June 2009 and I've found it very interesting so far how different the blogging styles are between the 2 communities!
My blog is also predominantly YA - while I actually have fairly eclectic reading tastes I have found since having my daughter last year that the length and complexity of YA novels is perfect for me at present.
I love online groups so I'm excited to meet you all and can't wait to pick your more experienced brains about the ins and outs of book blogging while I learn the ropes!
Welcome Lisa, love the idea of a badass bookie and welcome Philippa, I've said it before but your blog is very impressive
Knowledge Lost wrote: "I didn't notice, thanks. This is why I have an editor"Haha!! I just saw you'd fixed it, so deleted my comment:)
Hi everyone! My name is Ellen and I'm a newly dedicated book blogger. I say that because I've been blogging about writing and reading on one blog since 2010, but decided what I really wanted was one blog dedicated to reading. So I started Reading's My Drug. I stick to reviewing YA novels, but I do read a fair few adult novels (not recently, but in the past I definitely had that phase! Haha).
It's great to meet so many Aussie bloggers! Oh, and I'm from the Northern Territory.
Ellen - I'm so impressed at what you've accomplished, I certainly never did anything remotely this fantastic at your age. The website and writing is fabulous, love your current giveaway too :)
@Philippa- Oh, wow. I'm literally speechless! Thank you for the amazing compliment :D @KL- Thanks so much! So far so great. Haha.
Hey everyone :) My name is Sherri and I am a starter in the book blogging but I am really enjoying it! My blog is The Life Of A Southern Bound Soul and I pretty much do book reviews but also every now and then it'll be something different :)By the way, thanks for the invite KL :D
Lol I ran out of phone credit so I couldn't get on, still without the credit though I'm using the kids computer haha :)
Lol naw, I like these kinds of groups...plus the company isn't half bad ;D lol but yes I'll be a rare sight until I get more credit for my cell phone
Hi there! I run Write Note Reviews (www.writenotereviews.com) in my spare time, which includes reviews and a blog. I also freelance and work at an arts centre - part of that is organising Meet the Author events. I also have another blog Each Day a Gift, (www.eachdayagift.blogspot.com.au, which is my take on life. So looking forward to cyber meeting fellow book lovers!
Because I'm addicted to blogging, I've started another blog dedicated to literature. My book blog is http://literary-exploration.com/
I'll still write in my cultural blog but I wanted a blog I can show off to publishers in the hope for ARCS and interviews, etc.
Hey guys I'm a blogger from Queensland and mainly cover YA and Adult fiction. I used to run a blog called PageNumbered but removed it to focus on my study and school work. But I'm back! My blog; http://bookiewooks.blogspot.com.au/
Come and say hi!

My name is Michael and I run Knowledge Lost, while not a full book blog, I do plan and hope to talk more about literature in the future. I focus mainly on Literary Fiction but I really just blog about what every genre I feel like.
